I had no idea they used _You're Not Here_ in the credits. I love the original Silent Hill movie twice as much now. The writers and graphics designers pulled out all the stops for this movie ensuring no future adaptation would top it lol.
Then came the sequel that… Actually, never mind. For the good of humanity, let’s just choose to live in a world where Revelations was just a bad dream.
This is the song that played at the end of the 3rd silent hill game, if I’m not mistaken. Love how it was used in the credits here as well. A nice homage to the game
This movie was a great adaptation of the first four Silent Hill games. Mainly following the story of the first. It stays true to it's source material and really captures the essence of the games.
I totally agree. Yeah, the movie is not perfect, but it successfully captures the atmosphere of the game and, at least, remains faithful to the original soundtrack.
The soundtrack, visuals, and atmosphere are very well done. The story on the other hand, well, It only follows a very generalized version of Silent Hill 1 plus adding a bunch of uanessacry things. This movie Is probably the best video game adaptation ever made, but It's story still Isn't very good.
Nah, I genuinely think that the first Mortal Kombat film holds that title lmao, with Sonic being right behind it. This film does a lot to really gain the look and atmosphere of the Silent Hill games and does some nice little homages to them as well, but the story is a complete mess made of characters making poor decisions because it demanded they do that as well as including a lot of stuff from the games that simply don’t have any meaning to this particular story (biggest offender being Pyramid Head). Doesn’t help that it’s supposedly adapting SH 1 but it deviates too far to be a proper retelling of that story in its own medium. I’d certainly hold it above a very large majority of other video game movies, but def not the best.
Usually, I would ignore the credits but I remember just sitting on my bed and taking the time to watch the credits and lesson to the music. Seriously, the credits for this movie are that good.
Especially since the credits for the film actually came from the Silent Hill video games itself. This film is a bit underrated but it could have been improved. For starters, I would have made Sean Bean's character the main protagonist of this film. Second of all, I would have added some parts of the movie based on Silent Hill 2 as well as Silent Hill 1. Those are some things I would have changed in the film. If you are a Silent Hill fan or not, this movie is worth watching. The sequel to that film however was not worth watching except for the Heather Mason actress and Sean Bean and Kit Harington.
For all the problems this film has (which I honestly never noticed until they were pointed out for me), this is probably one of the most competent film adaptations of a video game. Both enjoyable if you shut off your brain and if you dig deep into the story. I will admit, I'm likely biased because this was my introduction to the franchise, but I love both this and the games equally. Plus, I never get tired of this credit segment.
I feel the same way, i can enjoy this as an actual movie and not a guilty pleasure. Does it have problems, yes it does, but this is a good adaptation overall. People don`t need to bitch about it and say this has nothing to do with silent hill, (Coughs) excuse me, yea it does, the overall plot structure is exactly the same so i don`t know why the fans bitch about the movie`s plot. But hey it could have been worse.
People are wayy too harsh imo... could be me... but i understand ppl love the games and are very protective.. but i fucking love this movie. And i am quite sure nothing as unique and brilliant like silent hill will ever get invented again (Im considering to sacrifice alot of money juat to be able to play silent hills 2 and 3 atleast. The problem is i don't own a ps2 or a pc.. i dont even know can they be played from pc)
Ladies and Gentleman, this is how you do a video game movie especially with the ending credits at the end. This is in my top 5 video game films: 1. Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Mortal Kombat (1995) 3. Silent Hill 4. Detective Pikachu 5. Resident Evil 1 (2002)
@@royaljelly1722 --- Let us say Street Fighter 1994 was so bad it was good. It was cheesy in a good way. If Street Fighter 1994 had better actors like Dolph Lundgren as Guile instead of Jean Claude Van Damme as Guile and William Zabka as Ken Masters and Yuji Okumoto as Ryu, it would have been better.
The first movie was pretty good, the second one was literally one of the worst movies I've ever seen, but this credits sequence near perfectly captures the feel of the silent hill games. Wondering around darkened, rotting environments, trying to escape an evil that feels omnipotent.
i really love how the credits is another experience of its own. you can totally imagine the unknown protagonist (in first person view) going through the town (confronting their own personal nightmares?) and trying to make sense of the pieces of memories left behind
Silent Hill Revelation is all about Romance and Silent Hill 3, and I agree with you, and also Travis Grady from Silent Hill Ørigins sounded like the same actor from the game.

The best video game movie out there. I also really love the games, and this movie captures the atmosphere perfectly. The story isn’t perfect but it works for the type of movie they were making.
Yeah, the first one was really good. the sequel was so disappointing. sean bean and radha mitchell were the only good things in the sequel. i love carrie anne moss, jon snow and malcolm mcdowell but i think even they would rather forget they were involved with the second one.
the girl playing as the Reaper was very talented and acted perfectly. First time I've seen a horror movie where I actually rooted for the "dark force" behind it all.
What separated silent Hill from all other video game inspired movies was the fact that it was grounded into the actual universe of the video games between the music the characters the story and the visuals in general. I never played the game but throughout the times that I've watched it my friends who have played the game have filled me in on information regarding both the game and the movie.

I just watched the Pet Sematary remake for the second time and its end credits reminded me of this ones. There's just something about an upbeat punk rock song at the end of a good horror flick.
The craziest plot twist in this movie was that Sean Bean survived.
And he survived the sequel!!
DrLeatherface Thnx for the Spoiler, moron!
ActualiRap The movie has been out for years. Who gives a shit. I don't see you bitching at the original comment for spoiling the first movie.
