From a small city in Canada I will remember the legacy President Carter leaves behind we have a home built by his Habitat of Humanity. A wonderful man who cared for people and lead by example. Thank you President Carter❤🇨🇦

Whilst of course we would wish so, he asked for John Lennon's 'Imagine' song to be included - a song which wishes there was no Heaven - no religion, no countries so, no presidents, nothing worth dying for, so, no God. It's a song of relativism and contradiction. Contradicting himself, Lennon also wrote "And so this is Christmas". Clearly a confused man. Was Carter confused about Lennon? Was Carter confused about himself?
Is he not according to Gods word Mr Carter said homosexuals God would allow really my bible says homosexuals will not inherit Gods kingdom unless they repent this evil generation will find out after death what God approves of.

Lennon's lyrics go on to idealise a naive utopia where everyone lives in an apparent peace, without any religion or borders, etc. Presumably - and going by the 1960s anti-establishment rhetoric, this has to include no governments, no politicians, no authorities, no bosses - nothing - only everyone exactly the same and, he wants everyone to 'join us' (i.e. him) - in what? A dumb society of nothingness? Everyone living for the day is itself a selfish notion which allows no thought for the future - yet again Lennon contradicts himself by siring a son. The late President Carter was one of those whom Lennon would rather society did without. Carter's naivety was to have this song in a church - a religious setting (even though the ceremony did not even have any prayers for the soul of the deceased), an insult to God and to the church and to those who do believe and acknowledge that there is one true God, and Heaven, and Purgatory, and hell, since Jim Carter - and his late wife Rosalyn - who had this song at her funeral, gave Bible classes. Contradicting the banal relativism of this song, he also had 'Amazing Grace'. It was farce.
Jimmy Carter showed that it is possible to retain humanity in your heart even after having tasted the pinnacle of power.

My sincere prayers are being lifted up for President Carter’s family. I’m sure they are exhausted! He was a fantastic man and did so very much for the country and the world. In 1976 I was a student at UC San Diego living in Atlantis Hall. I was the only one in our entire dorm who voted for Jimmy Carter for president. My roommates threw me into the water fountain for announcing that but I never felt more proud that day.

I was a student at Purdue living in Shealy Hall. I was among a handful in our dorm to vote for Jimmy Carter for president. I was 20 and first time voting.

Goodbye President Carter, you will always be loved by many who believe in justice, decency, and the goodness of humanity. The world lost a gentleman of great standing and faith. America was fortunate to have such a man in their midst and did not honor and appreciate him till he left the presidency. Having lived in Washington during Watergate and met President and Mrs Ford and the Carter's listening to his son and President Carter's grandson read the eulogies of how the two became great friends coming back from Egypt was an amazing story.

I accompanied a group from our church in Spokane WA on a Habitat Blitz Build in Appalachia with President and Roslyn back in the 90s. Hoping we can remember the greatness of their character in these dark days in America. Thank you Mr. President, for your focus on the growing gap between the rich and the poor in this, the wealthiest nation in history...so sorry we could not hear you!

He may not have been the best president we've ever had but I do think that Jimmy Carter was a better president than people gave him credit for and might have been unfairly blamed for things that were beyond his control during his presidency.
This was a beautiful service for a very great man, President Jimmy Carter. His grandson spoke so movingly about him, as did everyone. I hope many will be cherishing his memory as the days progress into the new Presidency of Donald Trump, which may be the worst in our history. As I watched today, I was also remembering Eugene Kennedy, one of the architects of the National Cathedral. He was a neighbor, with whose daughter I was befriended, in Newton Center, Massachusetts. After Watergate, America wanted a clean, honest man as President and they got Carter. He fitted the bill. Four years later America wanted a strong Rambo leader and they got Ronald Reagan. It wasn't Jimmy's fault that he was a nice guy.
