I think a problem they started running into was it caused a few too many bicep tears. A few comps tried having an axle press off blocks but it wasn't the same.
This is an excellent comment, and I agree wholeheartedly! It's a shame he was competing only with himself for essentially his entire prime in overhead events.
What happened to Paul Pirjol? Only 19 and already doing Giant live events and 2x romanias strongest man in 2011?? Seems like he was headed to do big things in the sport
Fun fact: This was the last time Z did an Axle for Max on his career. But giving how dominant he was on an heavy axle for reps at Arnold's, if he had a chance to break this record he would have pressed something above 220kg
Well do our best to put some more up - but you should check this video if you enjoy Z footage: ua-cam.com/video/X3czNs9P5OY/v-deo.html. ''STRONGEST MAN EVER - Žydrūnas ‘BIG Z’ Savickas, - STRONGMAN''
Judging from Big Z 215 kg axle press, I think he can do more than that, he got more in the tank. If only this is not a full comp just focus for the single axle press event
Thanks for uploading these. I like the idea of cutting the field for the last event, but why not double points so it's 12,10,8,6,4,2? Giving 6,5,4,3,2,1 made it really anti-climactic. Obviously it's irrelevant now, but this seems like it could be a good way of making the stones finale more interesting in current competitions.
@@spokeen6249 Brother, I did not mean this. I meant it. If these people encountered Eddie 2016, Eddie would have crushed them. Eddie in 2016 he lift the axle bar 216 kg with no leg drive

Yes!! One step closer to publishing Europe's Strongest Man 2013.
Zydrunas is always a pleasure to watch. Specially in overhead events. 🔥
My name
I'm sure if the axle press was a more popular event during the 2010's, Big Z's record would have been much higher than 215kg.
Oh with out a doubt ! Shit even if he would have had someone to REALLY push him it would have been heavier

Could see Z matching his log record of 228kg in the axle. He was never pushed in either events by any of his peers.
Most of the competitors were hardly lifting 200 kg and none was pushing him sadly.. Had he been pushed by other athletes definitely yes
This is an excellent comment, and I agree wholeheartedly!

Turkey never really been the same after this one. Big Z really did it to em.
Thanks for this video it's amazing! Kinda sucks that Paul Pirjol didn't have a career in Strongman, that kid seemed really promising.
Shaw and zydrunas deadlift was just world class
crazy to see the difference in equipment over the last decade, its come such a long way
Another nice surprise! Thanks again! :D
Amazing show! Classic events and great sportsman's 💪 thx for the content

Do we know what happned to Pirjol? Did he continue strongman? I mean: His performance was very promising at some events!
such a young man, looks like a boy really. very strong shoulders
he suffered some kind of injury, if I remember correctly something to the neck area/the spine and he couldn't train.

Agreed
20 reps Shaw and zydrunas are best deadlifters in their prime
Log and axle, that's brutal overhead
That strap breaking looked dangerous! Good thing he did not get hurt
Need more Big Z content he's the strongest man to ever walk the 🌎

@@GiantsLiveSTRONGMANWow I've never seen this before thank you awesome video best one I've ever seen about Big Z!
31:45 Damn Colin's prediction was no joke
Big Z needs to sell merch! I want a Big Z t-shirt 'I am very hyeppy!'
20 reps on deadlift . wow . shaw & Z
I was going to complain about the collars but actually I love how the bar exploded when Z dropped it! Very pleasing!

Excited for this one!

I'll be honest, I wouldn't mind some more pixels... 480 is really foggy. But hey, better than nothing.
That's bull I only got 360
I have 4k
Turkiye is a strenght country . Mr Solvi petursson is in true. Mutlu..Suleimanog,u... Arslan
man, its crazy Paul Parjol was compeeting with the best at 19 years old, and we didnt hear nothing from him after that...
I heard he suffered an injury and he cannot train.
Even 215 strict press wahou
🇹🇷 Turks are honest
Turkey🤩😍😍
Bom dia 👍👍👍
GREAT👏👏
Lol Shield is fun with Shaw....he carry just his twin.....lool he was in obligation to win
If back then the log was 150 for reps nowdays should be 160
WUS did 180kg for reps
Arnold's have done 190-205kg for reps
It's only the world's heats and giants live that have done lighter logs
Ne zaman geldiniz Türkiye ya haberim yok. Arka daki insanlar hadi hadi baruyorlar..
2010 diyor usta :D
That kid lol 19yo tied with big Z and beat shaw at log
If Eddie was there he will smoke anyone and he would lift the bar without leg drive
No because Eddie was just a beginner in 2011 😂
