What this sound sounds like on a 120,000 watt sounds system simply cannot be defined by words. Especially right around 1:47 where there is the sound of a very deep bell being rung just before the beat drops. When I first heard that at a weekly rave in NYC called NASA, the sound made my eyes go blurry for a second and I felt it thru every bone in my body. Was a life changing experience that I wish I could relive over and over :)
a truly unifying piece of music - lifetime memory of feeling the collective consciousness of god knows how many thousands of UK raving crew release as one as the beat finally dropped at a Glastonbury set of theirs in the late 90s. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM - makes my skin crawl even recalling it... and somehow to this day this tripped out ecstatic version also never fails to take me back to the early 80s, dressing gown, slippers, tomato soup and cheese on toast infront of the telly waiting for (my first doctor) Peter Davisdon to come on... magical time travel at its best - who needs a tardis when you got sine waves?
oh sweet heavenly low frequency transcendent oscillations wafting my eternal soul beyond the synthesised realms of space and time as your glorious subtle snarl of distorted purity roots my physical being in the ecstatic release of the here and now, the there and then and the where and when - thanking you P&P
This has to be the best ever around the bass line is back to its original tats and that is important : The original version was a dead line bass time has moved on and its nice that the top end stayed with it
Increíble, qué puta potencia. De verdad, quien se meta drogas, que las deje y se meta esto, por los oídos y por las venas. Sí, estoy enganchado, soy adicto, no puedo dejar de meterme música así, lo siento, la música me domina.
Never apologize for how good music like this hits you. I'm a musician myself and was just a few minutes ago thinking of the stuff I grew up listening to and watching back in the 80s -- it was a mix of classical (Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Handel, just to name three) and the symphonic electronic wizardry of Vangelis, for starters. I was not your typical 8 yr old. 😅
It does an honest job reflecting that the Doctor isn't actually a just hero. Sometimes he/she makes huge mistakes & entire innocent civilizations die, but the Doctor does only the best that they can see. Great theme. It's valor with darkness. There's urgency that goes along with the infinite timeframe.
The album version has a bit of a snippet of tom Bakers Doctor from the Creature of the Pit, I'm pretty sure. Then of course there's matt Smith in 2010 with Orbital live at Glastonbury (how much would that have rocked!).
Yeah on the classic Who dvds that were released during 2003, that was pretty much an advert for the dvd (and by proxy the vhs) range ua-cam.com/video/nmKIJ8mtwrQ/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
I sometimes skip to 1:48 when that opening sting kicks off, keep the song going until when I get to 2:37, I skip to the end bit that’s at 4:41, from that bit until I skip to 5:10. Makes a short end credits version of the theme tune here

Missed this song. Was on my play list back in 2002
classic, loved this back in high school and still love it today.
Doctor Who never gets old!
Death's Head will put you in Tenebrous Cells for crimes against the
stability of the Omniverse on orders of the Omniversal Majestrix yes!.
It's 60 years old!
No, he just regenerates
Love how it starts like something that would fit the Sylvester McCoy-series, than the drums kick in and we're off.
This track gets you all spiritual on the dance floor !
Would be awesome if it was used in the actual show
Сильно похожий на этот саундтрек был во flash анимации doctor who scream of shalka

This song always reminds me of the opening scene of Alien. Infinite black space, and the Nostromo is slowly approaching...
Its a remix of Dr Who series theme
not sure why people are questioning if its the Doctor Who theme, course it is O_O.. clearly.

It's not a song. When did everyone forget the difference between a song and a tune?
