Its funny to me that there are those that hate Chibnalls era and I've not been shy in criticising it myself from time to time but Thirteens words are used quite a lot here as they seem to reflect the hopeful and wonderous outlook of Who in general. No matter your thoughts on it, maybe thats one credit in its favour, that it has a postive outlook that encapsulates the message of Doctor Who. Living hopefully and waiting to be surprised.
It’s a stretch imo, but I’m willing to credit it for that too. only because there are such few things to credit that era for at all, so I will literally take any positive I can get.
It's very rare to find a TV series that is truly unique. Doctor Who is unique. That's why we love it. This video captures that perfectly.
For me there are Tokusatsu from Japan like Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and Ultraman etc.
This honestly could work like one of the best trailers to get someone to start watching Doctor Who

This belongs on telly, they should air this as an official Celebration Trailer. Beautiful work, such heart and soul. It really communicates the essence of the show, giving you everything and leaving you wanting it all. Got me quite teary-eyed. Thank you for this❤
Also, on a more technical note: Your editing skills are brilliant. You have a real intuition in regards to rhythm, pace, structure, emotional beats - it's all really very superbly done. The editing, the sound, the music, the merging of dialogue. Excellent stuff😊

Agreed. Realistically there's no chance that it will end up on iPlayer or BBC TV, but it would be great if at least the official Doctor Who social media channels linked to it. What a tribute!

Sadly sometimes the Who fandom can be a bit rough with division and anger towards the show and one another.
Then a masterpiece like this comes along to remind us of all that is good and wonderous in the rich trapesty of the whole Whoniverse. It brings joy and light and is so uplifting. In the words of Nine. Fantastic!

I love how there are clips from stories that aren’t considered to be masterpieces in here. Namely, “Love and Monsters”, which is a story that starts out very strong and is a love letter to the fandom and just a great experience. It gets weird with the monster and the resolution. I know that it’s a monster designed by a kid, but it just didn’t work for most people.
Using a sound clip from such a divisive story shows that the person/people that made this video really love Doctor Who and can see the good even in weakly received stories.
Say what you want about Love and Monsters - the clip with “Elton” perfectly encapsulates life both inside and outside the WHONIVERSE imo. Beautifully written line and so wonderfully articulated by Marc Warren. I’m so glad it was included in this masterpiece.
I didn’t care for the monster, but i wasn’t as bothered by it as a lot of people were. I’m a fan from the Classic Who days and there were plenty of hit or miss adversaries.
The thing that felt foul to me about that episode was how the writers really went extra hard on getting us to love LINDA, then eliminated them all. I’ve seen a good amount of tragic fates on Who, but this one felt really extra for some reason.
And then there’s the girl forever imprisoned in a paving stone (a fate far worse than death, IMO) and they present it like it’s a good thing.
I’ve always defended Love and Monsters… it’s no way as bad as people make out, nor is Timelash or even the Twin Dilemma which have got to be close to two of the worst stories. But I’m one of those tragic fans. You could have the Doctor read the phone book and I’d probably watch it.
@@ShaneDR009 I am actually one of the only people who likes “The Smugglers” and Time Lash is not nearly as bad as its reputation suggests. It’s mostly the scene of the Doctor choking Peri that people remember. Mostly, it’s a pretty standard story.
@@TwoCentReview agree. I think most if not all Doctor Who stories has at least one redeemable feature. Sometimes you’ve got to suspend belief or be very forgiving but there’s no Who I won’t watch or would ever say I hate - except for Genesis of the Daleks! Absolute crap!

I usually hate upscales but some of the clips from the Classic era truly look superb.
UGH. This was so BEAUTIFUL!! This is what our show is about, guys! The journey, the friends, the families, the highs and the lows. That's what's so compellingly beautiful, and it's why we keep coming back to it. Even after all the ups and downs, we keep coming back to Doctor Who because of how much heart this show has.

It has always been there and I really love this video.
DW has had beautiful and awful moments but it has been more constant in my life than some friends and even family members.

I LOVE the way you spliced the 'universe will suprise you' to thematically tie the video together and to encapsulate the overwhelming wanderlust of Doctor Who, while also transitioning into a smooth ominous tease for the 60th. Also, I thought inspired touch to use title cards from all the theme variations. Very well done, my friend.

I remember when you posted the original version of this and........OMG ITS BEAUTIFUL Here for another 40 years of WHO
This is just amazing. I loved the original (and watched it so many times that I can tell the differences in clips haha!) This new version is somehow even better! Making it all wide-screen is a great move, are the classic clips just punched in or is there some vfx trickery on some to make them wider? They look like they've been upscaled so well
And the choices of new clips are fab! It's just perfect!
Yeah, there’s a bit of VFX trickery for the widescreen classic shots. I used Photoshop and After Effects to manually expand the scenes to 16:9, and used Remini for some shots to enhance them to imitate HD.
This is a beautiful tribute for Who's 60th anniversary. Well done, and thank you for making this.
Finally...! A clip video that incorporates ALL of the incarnations of The Doctor! I love the use of the old footage with the new. Excellent job!

I always love the first one, but I always though that project like that, some people would not want to recreate it into the present time. But thank you, thank you so much for adding new content especially with Series 12 and 13 and even the specials even just for a bit, and those new scenes from the Classic are just brilliant!. Please say youve sent this to the BBC! Or to RTD! It's just the best, absolutely captures the magic, the soul of the show. Maybe could of had a few more alien world shots/monsters in there is my only note.
I reckon someone from the Beeb has seen this as the Whoniverse trailer that came out recently has a very similar vibe (some shots and edits are identical). It'sa good trailer which has a flavour like this albeit not as heart(s) string pulling and spectacular as confession dial's.
It's so eerie hearing early who with such clear audio! Fantastic Job!

One of the greatest Doctor Who tributes, given a stellar update. Magnificent. I particuarly love the little touches at the begining like editing new shots of Eight, War and Fugitive in front of the TARDIS, really helps give these crinimally underused incarnations a extra 'spark' of life
It is superb, apart from certain ingredients that I would remove from this video, and from the entirety of Doctor Who because they never should have been there in the 1st place, I will keep them personal to me ; however that only detracts very slightly from a superb video. Huge praise, well done! 😊

This is one of the best things I’ve ever seen… the best at showing the threads that connect all of DW into one big story. I think you got every companion in there, and not in a shoe-horny way… it was very well put together and better than any official montage I’ve seen. Love it. Thank you for your hard work.

What a fantastic taster for all those who will be new to Who, a clever and professional showcase which covers more ground than anything I've seen the BBC publicity produce.
Beautiful work I love u showed all the doctors giving respect to each regeneration of the character and I’m surprised that the Jodie haters haven’t decided on the video for her inclusion even though she has every right to be represented as much as the other regenerations despite personal feelings about her era
