Should have been gone last season when they canned the manager. Sell and rebuild, just don't get rid of Webb.
We would be dooming Webb to never play in the post season again. Webb is almost 28 years old and still in his physical prime. We are 3 years away from being relevant at best. By that time Webb will be a has-been. I want Webb to play for a contender and we can get a haul and a half for him with his contract.

If Snell gives us a solid 2nd half we'll have a chance. It's our bullpen that is far worse.
Plus Snell missing time means Snell might opt in for next year since he didn't show enough to get a better contract. The year isn't over yet and if we play it right we'll still be set up for next year

Oh, we were going to be this way regardless. The Giants have needed to rebuild since 2017 and didn't. Zaidi issues aside (and that is a lot to set aside), ownership refuses to act like the top 5 franchise we are supposed to be in favor of breaking even. That is why Zaidi still has a job, he has promised them a playoff contender on the cheap and without needing to do the work of developing the farm in the ways that need to be done.

Saying Bryce Eldridge isn’t hitting for average when he’s hitting .325 in A+ as a 19 year old is absolutely crazy
In 12 games at A+. He's hitting .263 on the year between A and A+ don't cherry pick stats.

I like Thairo because he is still a good RBI guy (we don't have many of those). Wilmer on the other hand probably needs to skate.
They need a thumper like Barry Bonds and those are premiums, so you need hitters that hit line drives in the gap with average and pitchers that hit ground balls. You would need two or three gappers to make up for the power outage.

Both the Giants and their fans came into this year having completely unrealistic expectations for BOTH Soler and Chapman- these guys are complimentary pieces. Period.

Those prospects that they traded away to the cubs for Bryant were not good prospects. That trade needed to happen. It was a good choice at the time and to this day

I see Farhan overpaying for Bichetter. He is not a big game Hunter and shops at the Dollar Tree, but needs to win to keep his job. He is not trading Dovall unless he get two to three top notch prospects. Hard pass on Andrew Vaughn, he is a .240 hitter.
Andrew Vaughn would help our clutch-hitting deficienct lineup tho this team still needs players that can cover ground in the field and catch the damn ball !!

I have been horrified by many decisions Zaidi has made this year including giving promising youngster Casey Schmitt just 40 ABs this year- along with not handing a corner outfield starting job to the Uber talented Luis Matos. Go Giants !!!!!!

Dude has made the giants irrelevant for years now. He has no idea what he's doing. His best hire was kapler and then fired him for a coach who couldn't put together one of the best rosters in baseball as a successful club. But kapler made the giants a 107 win team and he was the problem.

I would rather trade for White Sox OF Luis Roberts Jr. Having an outfield of JHL in CF, Ramos in LF and having Roberts Jr. in RF would potentially have 3 Gold Glove OF’s.
Zaidi should have been fired years ago. And no. The Giants will not make the playoffs. I believe they will have a 77-85 campaign this year. This is what I thought at the beginning of the season as well. Give the job to Dusty Baker. The Giants should get Elly de La Cruz from Cincinnati. And why is Grant McRae not playing for the Giants. The Giants need speed. The Giants are awful stealing bases. The Giants need to cater their team to where they play half their games.

I would say the main problem with Zaidi is he somehow always finds a way to build backwards. He cares more about the 26th and 40th man than his top 10, he values hitting over defense so much that the Giants have been bottom 3 in defense for 2 years in a row, he values corner fielders over middle fielders despite how hard it is to get good middle fielders, he thinks starters grow on trees despite needing starters every year, he drafts pitchers when we can't buy hitters to save our life, and he values saber metrics over what the obvious eye test is saying. Zaidi is far too deep in his own world that he thinks the sky isn't blue, it's green! In short, Zaidi throws away a hundred years' worth of history and wisdom for what he thinks matters.

Farhan Zaidi never played the game of baseball at any level; how is he qualified to run any baseball operations for any MLB team? Giants should never have hired him; Larry Baer should be fired for the zaidi hiring. more than 100 games behind the Dodgers pace since 2019. Unless Johnson wanted to lose (which is possible, given his need for tax rite off's) why would any Company/ MLB Team dump a HOF 3X championship leadership group for a career loser? Make no sense unless you wanted to Lose on purpose.

Giants are getting Cobb and Ray back which is essentially the same as "Buying" Ray and Cobb. Giants need bats so they need to find a bat. Chisholm or Vaughn??? You are dumpster diving with Farhan on that one. Giants don't need more outfielders/platooners with crappy bats. Giants need elite bats. Take your pickle out of the pig and let's get on board with elite bats. A short Vlady Jr. contract would be amazing. The table is set for 2025 and 2026 with pitching and fielding as Ramos, Lee, Matos, Chapman, Wisely, Wade, Bailey come back and pitching is fine with young guys coming up and guys getting healthy. Thairo is weak at the plate and an elite bat is missing. Farhan is bad for Giants baseball and all baseball. Stick him in a basement cubicle with 6 monitors and a calculator.
What bothers me more is that the Giants have never replaced Brian Sabean. Ever since the summer of 2016, the Giants have been relentlessly mediocre outside the 21 season (which seems like a wild outlier more than anything). They can’t sign anyone besides 2nd tier free agents, and worse yet they haven’t really developed any surefire stars in that time period.
Yeah, the Giants have more problems in their house than just Zaidi. Ownership is a mess, and the farm system is such a departure from playing at Oracle that prospects get subjected to shock therapy. We don't spend top end money unless they feel they have no choice. There is no loyalty to anyone, and I have seen way too many people set-up to fail. Firing Renee Moon just because she disagreed with Charles Johnson politically is also just beyond petty. I don't know if you saw the players poll on the Giants but I think the only reason they say that we are neutral is because so many franchises are outright dives.
