Some important things:
- Time is measured by in-game seconds. The game has its own timer, and the time gotten is shown after clearing a level, which is basically the number of in-game seconds that have passed since the start of the level. The game saves your best time for each level.
- In-game seconds aren't real seconds, they run a bit faster. An in-game second is 3/4 of a real second.
- The speed techs used here are: regular cat momentum (scratching before touching the ground when diving and jumping to keep the speed) combined with a crouch boost tech (doing very brief crouches before jumping) combined sometimes with a vectoring tech to gain more speed.
- The crouch boost tech needs to be done with the run button held for it to give a better boost.
- I switch to boomerang at the dash section to get 2 of the key coins from distance. The damage boost at the end of that section is intentional and it's totally irrelevant for the time, since the in-game timer stops during the damage animation.
- Warp boxes keep a big part of the speed gotten before entering them.
- These speed techs aren't glitches, or at least I don't consider them glitches. It's just how the physics of the game work. And obviously there is no hacking or cheating here.

I find it incredibly funny that whenever a speedrun video gets popular theres always an endless amount of people that don’t understand the run and just assume it’s hacked because they can’t grasp the idea that maybe there’s something about the game that they don’t know.

She can just let Mario do all the saving. I mean, everyone respects Mario and he is seen as a symbol of justice and peace, peach won't be starved because Bowser treats her like a q u e e n (other than when she is put in a cage to try to stop Mario), she gets a welcome back party every time (even if its not shown every game, we can assume), and it seems that the toads are hardworking and loyal enough to run the kingdom without her. Maybe this is her scheme to make everything more balanced in the world.

In 2015 me and my roommate spent months on this level. I feel personally attacked by this video. Good job mate
Myself and my oldest brother back in the days of the Wii U version gave up on this level. We tried for hours and hours. No matter how close we got to beating the level, we couldn't do it. This level is impossible.

Not including extra time points, you got exactly 10000 points at the end.
That’s the biggest flex in a speed run.
- 400 from the chuck near the beginning
- 3300 from the three Kameks (1000 + 100 each; the 100 is for the coin)
- 5000 for the five key coins
- 900 for nine coins at the end
- 400 at the flag (and 18450 for the 369 on the clock)

If you lose the cat suit at the flag, it would improve the time that it took for peach to actually slide down by a lot since having a cat suit and touching the flag takes longer for some reason

There are spots for improvement, but good luck trying this yourself 😅

I remeber when I had been playing through this level the first time. After dozens of attempts, I finally got to the “Thank you” pipe, and ran out of time while in it. It sucked

So you start of at your house dodging the neighbors after that you go to the street lights you beat the street gang run through the construction zone you next you go up the skyscraper for condoms and at the final strech you go through the last streetlight and the thank you segment is just waiting till she/he goes to the door

How do you do the really long peach floats that you do
Aidan's Machines Just scratch (Press Y) in midair for extra height and distance. Scratch, float, then as many scratches as possible gives you maximum distance.

Ok. It's called cat momentum and it's with every character. You basically jump and move whichever way you want to go and in midair, you dive by holding Y and then when you are about to land, just scratch by pressing Y. After that jump immediately and it should conserve your momentum. After jumping immediately, dive and scratch again. Rinse repeat and eventually when you get good at it, you can hold B with Peach after the cat momentum and she should hover a longer distance. It's also worth mentioning that if you jump after doing cat momentum once or twice than you will reserve that speed and you will still be able to go fast, just keep jumping. It's a pretty easy trick to perform, but there are ways you could get even faster. Like sliding down a slope, then doing it, so it's a pretty broad exploit. There are still things being discovered like dds and stuff.
You can do a long peach float without the cat suit. You just have to jump but right before you land hold down the jump button with peach and you can go really far. But if you have the cat suit just crouch and press the run button and do the long float but add cat attacks too while your still in your float and you could probably go double the distance
Just want to clarify that "dds" (that's a really bad name for the vectoring tech, since it's not what it's about) was used here, as well as crouch boosting. Both were found before this run, especially vectoring.

This is amazing. It actually inspired me to finally be able to complete a run. I must have tried this level (no exaggeration) 150 times or more. After seeing this, I got it in about 6 more tries. Thanks!😅
150 thats it. Im down atleast 2000 lives and still havent beaten it yet sad 😢. I get to the last part with the speed pads and choke everytime. But im getting close. I will do it lmao lol.
@@theghettotraveler347 Lol Minimum of 150 tries. If you are still trying, the best strategy I had was to get to the middle of thr larger section after the beginning gaps. Then try to stay in the middle when the electric square first starts. Once it expands, move quickly for a key. Once you have it, get back to the middle. Repeat until done. You must have the tanooki suit. Try for at least 3 keys before losing tanooki. That's how I finally did it. Good luck!
