How much time do you put into scouting within franchise mode? I know it seems like a menial task, but it can have major implications for long-term franchises!
Is there more to scouting than what you pretty much laid out or will you be putting out a more in depth scouting video in the future? I just started getting back into The Show after a few years off and I really have been enjoying the franchise a ton just want to get the most out of each scout/player since I am doing a Oakland rebuild and they are straight trash
Every two in game days. I want to check to see what the ratings look like at 30-60% scouted. There can be a lot of variability in when you start scouting and what the end product is. I try to avoid "inflated" overall numbers when scouting. For Example if I see a pitcher and he's a 70 and has 75 in Velo but his FBs dont top 91-92, I avoid him because I believe he is more likely to regress once fully scouted. It might just be me but I do not really notice much variation if any in the pitching MPH so I use that as a baseline for pitchers. If their velo looks suspect I think they'll regress once scouted. For hitting, If I see a huge difference between scouted and potential, I am pretty much skipping the prospect. Normally I am not trying to scout anyone under a 60 overall and if there is a large variation the best case is I get a low overall prospect that will take years to develop and likely not reach the potential. With lineup players I tend to favor better hitting stats at the expense of fielding so my middle round picks tend to be 68-82 potential and low 70s overall
My guy! I just bought this game a couple weeks ago and have enjoyed learning how to play it, but really wasn't clear on the detail of how scouting works. Thank you for this!
Most the guys that look like they'd be real people turn out pretty well. I avoid all the duck dynasty/James harden lookalikes. As well as anyone that looks like they'd be looking for work outside of home Depot.
@@SKOMEpocets that means that the ones that look like real people have a better chance of being better. The ones that look like the AI generation took a break and didn't give them features and there's several that identical in a draft, I stay away from picking those. It's not an exact science but I average more mid 80s potential than anything. Of course it also depends on how many you discover as well.
what I just do is hire best of each region, and do it manually for everybody, I scout the unscouted, I have to go to it like every 2 days but its only for 2 months
As a new Show player, your tutorials have been great! My scouting is 10x better now, and I can usually pull 3+ gems per class! Since Shohei is the cover athlete this year, are there a few 2-way players in the draft to find? What’s your experience for that?
Is there a big drop off in efficiency if scouting for discovery or a certain player that is in a different location than the scout(west, central, etc)?
When you say add a scout to discovery instead do you mean selecting the categories you want the scout to look at rather than an individual play to scout? Example, pitcher, lefty, velocity?
I know this video is a few months old but I’d like to know when it is best during the season to have your scouts start scouting individuals instead of doing discovery?
For discovery, you set an assignment and a location. For example, you may scout pitchers with velocity in the international region. Then they start discovering prospects from that region that you can scout further
@@JacobReid Does it benefit you in any way to have the scout in the same Region? The other day I was reading it is best to have a scout in each Region and then only use that scout for the specific Region. Is that the case or does it not matter?
Not gone lie my auto /scouts did great I signed all they recommendations lol and they look bad ass 😎🤣I really be feeling like a GM with a full capable staff I was literally like I hope nun of my man coaches scouts retire 🤣🤣

When playing franchise mode, first thing I always do is get the best coaches and scouts I can. I always go in and check in on scouted prospects.
Scouting is always one of the only things I really enjoy a lot in all games franchise modes 👍🏻 mlb more complex then most others

I never really did the scouting in franchise. I need to pay more attention now. Thank you, great video
you can always just trade for the best prospects.
Literally gives you a tutorial each time I open the game

😂😂
what's that supposed mean?

Ive always done it i also manually train but youre talking to a guy whose been doing franchise modes since n64 and absolutely killed it in ootp.

I haven’t actually found any 2-way players yet. I’m happy my videos have been able to help!
@@JacobReid That's honestly insane lol, how have they not programmed them to appear at ALL? Good content, helped me elevate my franchise gameplay.
could u do the yankees franchise
Is there a big drop off in efficiency if scouting for discovery or a certain player that is in a different location than the scout(west, central, etc)?
From what some folks say, yes. I have to do further testing
They should just have it as fielders, pitching, then base players including Short Stop for the bars things or change scouting thing
Huh?

Great video!
How does discovery work? Do you set a scout’s task to discovery instead of a specific player? How do you know who that scout discovers?
For discovery, you set an assignment and a location. For example, you may scout pitchers with velocity in the international region. Then they start discovering prospects from that region that you can scout further
@@JacobReid thank you for replying! That’s very helpful info.

Where do your players go after you draft them?? I don't see them in A,AAA or AA??
They will be in your roster once you hit offseason. They don’t immediately show up on your roster
@@JacobReid thanks i just got the game i didn't know ✔
