The bit at the end where Bruce jumps out of the ship and lands with a splat on the Bifrost had me helpless in my seat laughing a silent life that had my then wife worried for my health, for a solid five minutes. It's a pity they tried to recapture the magic of this movie in Love and Thunder, but it was enver going to happen. This worked so well because it was all so unexpected; Hemsworth comic abilities were kept buried for so long everyone loved seeing him cut loose, but it was a one time thing. Once it was out in the open it was impossible to put the proverbial genie back in the bottle.
Considering the size difference it's very easy to forget that Thor is AS strong as Hulk. Hulk simply has the OP advantage of GETTING stronger the more his adrenaline pumps while Thor STAYS the same strength. But initially they're the same strength. So slamming Hulk across the arena isn't like some HUGE epic "digging deep" moment for Thor. That's just the average Wednesday.
11:35 10 year old me watching this in cinema and losing my flippin' mind over what I witnessed.😱 And ofc HULKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure somebody must have dropped this piece of trivia by now, but just in case, smt Laura would enjoy to know: That line of "He is a friend from work" was actually a suggestion* from one of the children who visited the set through the "Make a wish" foundation. It has become a really iconic line and one of the best moments in the movie. Kid was a LEGEND c': May he rest in peace.
Fun Fact: During the world premiere, Mark Ruffalo was live streaming from his Instagram and he forgot to end it, so he accidentally filmed the first ten minutes of the movie.
The rock creatures like Korg were the bad guys in the first Thor comic they were going to invade, but they met Thor and they were afraid that all earthlings were that strong
I always crack up at the play when they say "Lady Sif get help!" and she proceeds to run around like a little girl screaming for help in a panic. It's so out of place to a comical degree and it's great.
Dr. Strange just happens to have the same street address as Sherlock Homes. Moreover, Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange) Played Sherlock Homes in the past. Coincidence? I think not!
Thor banging the umbrella on the ground to trigger his transformation is a direct call back to the comics, where he operates under cover (like other superheroes) as Dr Donald Blake, a surgeon ironically like Dr Strange. You also saw him do it in the self titled cartoon shorts that were a part of The Marvel Super Heroes, an oddly animated cartoon from the 60's. It was also the alias given him by Jane in the first Thor movie, where she claimed Blake was her ex...something. My apologies for second comment.

the whole "lullaby" thing that Makes Hulk turn back into Bruce.....I personally think that ONLY Works for Natasha. It's obviously a sub-conscious trigger that "wakes up" Bruce from inside The Hulk. But the way that it's almost intimate makes me think that Bruce only let Natasha trigger his change.
I would go one step further and say it only works for someone who has that level of trust with him. Of course, that may only be Natasha, but I bet it'd work for Betty Ross, too. Maybe no one else, though.
@@bigdream_dreambig I suppose, IF Betty even knew the trigger phrase. But the reason I think it's ONLY Natasha is that Hulk changed back simply by SEEING Natasha. So there's definitely an "intimacy factor" at play.
@@patrickcromwell7554 Oh, I agree it's unlikely Betty knows. I'm sure he and Natascha were working on it together as part of Bruce's training with the Avengers as a way of better keeping the Hulk under control.
@@bigdream_dreambig Yeah, that's what I was thinking. However you are also correct that IF anybody else "would be" effective it would BE Betty. Betty and Natasha are two people Hulk would attack unless extremely provoked. I mean with Betty he MIGHT not even attack her even if she did kind of strike him. Hulk seemed to really like Betty. Remember when she was in that cave-type place and Hulk got too close?? She woke up scared and slapped away likely just grazing him and he didn't get even remotely angry about it. lol. So yeah you correct. But also I'd guess Betty would really NEED the lullaby either. She seems to be able to just sit and relax with The Hulk. They're both very unique and very different types of relationships.
0:02-0:10 I have realized that you girls always make the same greeting with the same coordinated gestures. Do you rehearse it to choreograph it so well?? 😅😊
Hey ladies! I think this hands down the best Thor film! It’s not only hilarious but the buddy system of Thor and Hulk is just awesome! Fun facts: the “he’s a friend from work!” line was suggested by a kid who visited the set. And Cate Blanchett took the role of Hela because her kids begged her to!
@@tarmaque I just got a thought. They get intercepted by Thanos. Does he not destroy the ship with all those colonists? How can they be all alive in Endgame?
I want to see their faces in Thor 4,the flick scene, must be funny.😅...I liked that Taika left Chris to be more of his real self in this movie, humorous instead much more serious in previous movies.
Great movie but there are a few things they get wrong. Hela/Hel is actually the daughter of Loki and the wolf Fenrir is the son of Loki. In Ragnarok Odin is supposed to be eaten by Fenrir and Thor fights the world serpent also a son of Loki. Thor Kills the serpent and walks a few steps and dies from the venom. Also Odin created Valhalla so all the worthy dead Norsemen/Vikings could fight along side our Gods and help prevent Ragnarok
I know a lot of people thought Hela was another one-note one-shot villain, but with what she was given, Cate Blanchett absolutely crushed it. She's too good. Like, better than should be legal.
Hilarious intro, Laura's obsession for Loki is coming on in full force 😂 This third installment is definitely different from the first 2 movies, the Taika Waititi touch is ever present. Humor is on point in most cases, even if at times it gets a bit much and cuts from the seriousness of some scenes. The action scenes are spectacular, from that first escape from Surtur's realm to the very last fight scene. The Dr. Strange cameo was one of the best parts from this movie, typical cocky attitude countered by Thor's cheerful attitude. Odin dissapeared without much spectacle but the little flashbacks of him that Thor sees throughout the movie are pretty good. Hela breaking Mjolnir is one of those top MCU moments without a doubt. All of the Sakaar scenes are one giant "LMAO" moment, Jeff Goldbaum makes for a hilarious Grandmaster, the Hulk Thor squabbles just make you laugh no matter how much you're trying to keep a straight face. Valkyrie's performance falls just about as flat as her acting range in this movie. Maybe she shines in other movies but here she was meh at best. The whole "Odin rewriting history" subplot had potential but sadly it was drowned by jokes and it wasn't really addressed past Hela giving us an exposition about it. "What If...?" does a much better job in a much shorter time with it. Causing Ragnarok in order to have Surtur defeat Hela was a clever turn of events and it gave us a glimpse of Thor and the asgardians as nomads, people in search of a home. That post credits scene is concerning to say the least - we thought the Sakaar ship was big but that unknown behemoth is terrifying. Thank you for the hilarious reaction, commentary and discussion, you did a great job ❤
The comics are entertaining but a bit off. Hela and the giant wolf Fenrir are actually both children of Loki. And Loki is closer to being Odin's brother, not Thors

So yes, drooling over an actor who was medicated and contractually obligated to look like a he-man action figure is exactly what the studio wants and what killed Hemsworth's love of the character.
