- Hey! I built myself some simple condenser mics and thought I would make a comparison video between my different DIY microphones.
The electret mics sound really good considering how simple and cheap they are! You can search "electret capsule" on eBay and get these capsules for like 1-2 euros for 10pcs.
For some reason I've rarely seen phantom powered electret microphone circuits online and I hate having to use batteries or power supplies in microphones!

Wow this is cool! I think either the Electret no.1 or the Electret cube sound the best. With a little eq. The lofi mic would sound awesome when making lofi music tho.
I agree!! the two "hifi" electrets are both totally usable mics for most things! and i want to experiment more with the lofi mic for drums and see how it acts with some overdrive and extreme compression etc
this along with the jim lill mic video is revolutionary. diy has a bright future.
