This wouldn’t work. In a domain you would need to be in the administrators local group on every pc you want to shutdown. At home this wouldn’t work unless you already set up yourself in the local groups as an administrator.
This doesnt work because default settings doesn't allow the command. So you need to log in into the computer you want to shut down and change that setting. 👍

Also you need administration privilege's ....most school / public networks have everyone set up as guest or restricted accounts .so wouldn't work . and certainly does not work on a remote computer (over internet)
I got the name of 2 laptops connected to my network through that "net view"...then I added their names correctly but it is showing in cmd "the entered computer name is not valid or the targeted computer is not supported with remote shutdown..etc etc..."...Why its not working?!?

2 TRICK: Step 1: Open your computer and go in search options and type cmd and run as administrator. Step 2: type "netstart" for knowing computer's ip address. Step 3:type "shutdown -i"and hit enter. Step:4 after you type ip address and set the blank And hit enter. After you see the computer will be shutdown.
