Punky Brewster returns later this year as a new Peacock original series. To celebrate, we're revisiting the opening scene of the series - where Henry meets Punky for the first time!
Synopsis: This tender comedy features Punky, an independent, effervescent little girl who was abandoned by both of her parents. She's living with her puppy in a vacant apartment in Chicago until Henry, the manager, discovers her hiding place. He decides Punky is a special child who needs a home. It turns out that she enriches the neighborhood and Henry's photo studio. - Розваги
I had a very rough childhood and I related to Punky Brewster. She was one of the things that got me through it. I definitely saw myself in her.

Who would ever think Punky Brewster would return in 2021 , did not see that one coming, but glad it did, we could use a little uplifting blast from the past after a very challenging 2020....

The comedic timing & chemistry between Henry & Mrs. Johnson is great throughout this series. RIP to George Gaines & Susie Garret. 💕
I am so glady mother had me watch this when I was growing up in the early 2000s. It's a very fond memory of mine.

My grandfather looked like Henry 100%, even his voice, his behavior, his movements. And our relationship was exactly like this, at the same time, 1985. This show is extremely important for me since then.

Being born in late ‘84 (exactly when it started), I only remember it’s final season on prime time syndication. I saw this original episode in 1990 on a rerun on local tv & saw it again for the first time since then a few weeks ago on Peacock after learning about the revival that airs this February.
This show is the most hauntingly nostalgic & touching show I’ve watched throughout my entire life.
It really is a trip.

The winner was the episode with CPR the fridge and Cherie . Punky Brewster and Ramona Quimby and Pippi Longstocking were my role models.

Born '82 and recall that around 87, 88 I got memories of seeing episodes of Punky Brewster. Definitely it brought nice memories.

I loved this show so much...especially the first season. Soliel was such a great actress. They all were, but the tone of Punkys characters was so sad. I grew up in foster care, so it was nice to find a show some what relatable.
I remember watching punky when I was so young. I was born in 81 and I remember I used to have a childhood crush on punky. Lol. I'm excited to see the reboot.

Cause we're headed there. This show was a fluffy eclair with a trauma filling.
I would just like to say, I was born in 2005 but THIS show was definitely a staple in my childhood. I didn't watch it on tv and my parents did not introduce me to it, I found it on my own on youtube back in elementary school and binged the whole series from beginning to end for days on end. Punky Brewster got me through tough times and definitely made me who I am today.

Since then, I went deep on the 80s sitcoms.
I just finished through this series not to long ago and what a great thing it is to watch this show, I grew up watching it in the 80s. It's still a pretty funny show

This brings back memories of when I was in fifth grade back in 1993 and I used to watch reruns of Punky Brewster after school.
Same with me, because they suddenly stopped airing it’s syndicated reruns around 1994 on all the Tribune channels (KTLA-5, WGN-9 Chicago & in my case, WPIX-11 NYC) which always made me wonder
@@nolongshots Yeah you're right. It's disappointing because it should have been kept in syndication so younger generations could discover it and enjoy it like you and I were able to. It''s odd that Punky Brewster was never really rerun that much yet Saved by the Bell has practically never been off the air in over thirty years. Maybe it's because Saved By the Bell had a campy quality that appealed to teenage and an older audience while Punky Brewster mostly appealed to children.

This isn't Nick though and if this was on Nickelodeon it would be on the Nick Jr block too childish Clarissa, All That, Kenan and Kel and Drake and Josh paved the way for Nickelodeon Pete and Pete too.
Being a little Tom Boy from the 70s&80s, I wanted to be Punky Brewster, Pippi Longstocking, Rainbow Brite, and Jem& The Holograms!
Where it all started. And I loved the fact they brought it back, continuing where it left, taking place years with the Punky we all know And love.

Yes it is up there go to peacock all 4 seasons are up there I binged watched all of them lol now I'm just waiting patiently on the reboot that I feel is coming soon because why would they play the first episode like that I feel they want people who haven't seen it to watch it so they will be intune with the reboot

That episode is seared into my mind like all the "special episodes". I even learned about the Challenger disaster through Punky Brewster too. She is the reason we went to Space Camp. Kiddy shows these days have no substance, no challenges, no link to reality.

Ive called my little one punky brewster for the last 6years.
Punky Brewster ( "Punky, A Levada da Breca", in Brazil) was broadcasted in Brazil in the 90's. They aired just season 1 and 2 over here.
There is a TV channel here that are re-running it right now 😊
📺 decades network does do all kind of marathons on the weekends, so I would love for them to do a punky Brewster one. That would be cool.

I was 13 in 1984, I’m not sure how old I was when I watch this show - I was almost sure I was younger than that but oh well. Here I am - 52 and I still absolutely adore this show and wish I could watch them all - all over again!!! She was the cutest thing ever!!!!
