Glad you liked it! And I totally agree, a lot of people say Abbath is a bad and sloppy guitar player. I disagree, being to drunk and drugged up to play live is one thing, but the dude got skills. Sons of Northern Darkness is definitely in my top 5 metal albums of all time.
Damned in black and where dark and light don't differ is peak immortal for me! You absolutely did the song justice. Wouldn't hate if you did a cover on where dark and light don't differ as well.
And yet, every time I listen to Immortal I am surprised at how great Abbath, Horgh and Iscariah really are. Until now, their albums are listened to very relevantly, even against the backdrop of all the mass of groups and genres that have appeared in the last 20 years. The case when big things were done with small forces) The cover is gorgeous. Thank you very much!
I use a Quad Cortex directly into my interface (Focusrite). The guitar is double tracked, so you are hearing two guitars playing exactly the same. One guitar coming only from the left speaker, and the other from the right. This does a lot for the sound. I also highpass the guitars with an EQ somewhere between 100-200 hertz usually, and elevate slightly somewhere between 2,5k-6k. Also worth mentioning is that a Quad Cortex is a expensive piece of gear and not needed for good tones, If I were buying something today I would be looking into the ToneX pedal.
