did fucking amazing timing is a really hard thing to get down and you did perfect
Have you ever tried the flatwounds in a Motown-like setting? Precision Bass + flats + foam mute seems like a great combo to try and make it sound more pleasant.
Haven't really played a lot of Motown stuff, but I play along to some funk now and again. I have tried the sponge/foam muting trick, but I didn't feel like I made it work. I palm mute slightly now if I want that muted sound, but then I have to play with a pick. Can't really palm mute and play fingerstyle 😅 I do want to get another bass in the future though, so that I can have one with a lower action and mess more around with sponges and such to really get that funky muted sound.
Fantastic groovy slowcore. You nailed it. I wish i had your musical.talent. Thx and love from Austria
Thanks! 😁
I still can't find a solution to audio desktop completing ruining my guitar daw audio input, makes the input slowdown/fast during streaming/recording. so it's not a desync issue but an input that makes you sound sloppy lol, while the recording on the daw is perfect
hmm, that sounds strange. Does it stream nicely and record nicely if you mute the desktop audio recording? If so, one work around could be to setup a hotkey to mute the desktop audio. So that you can easily turn it on and off. Not an optimal solution as it leads to having to remember to turn something on and off all the time though. If you figure out what the problem is though, I would appreciate an update, as I might encounter the same problem myself in the future.
Damned in black and where dark and light don't differ is peak immortal for me! You absolutely did the song justice. Wouldn't hate if you did a cover on where dark and light don't differ as well.
Thanks! I might look into where dark and light don't differ. Sounds like a really fun song to play 🤘
🔥🔥🔥 that’s what i like to hear
❤
Genuinely beautiful
Thanks! :D
I haven't changed strings since I put these on, so you can hear what they sound like now here: ua-cam.com/video/PxVAUfCDUb0/v-deo.html
Excellent Job 🔝🎸🎸
😁🤘
I can't spell rhythm apparently
Beautiful and well done! Definitely deserves more views for your hard work! Keep it up man, this is awesome!!! 🍺🤘
Thanks a ton! 😁🍻
Bass and guitar, nailed. Great depth it takes where it should. Vocals... There are vocals, Julien is pretty unique with his high tones so I guess it ain't that easy. You should try drumming too... Maybe on a electric set first? Or nah, ppl would eat you alive for not using real drumset. Keep slaying though, you gucci
I like the second verse :)
😄
Thanks for your helpful video.
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing cover! Great work! One of the most badass chorus-riffs ever made
Thanks! 😄
I've became a big fan of your channel! If you have some time, check out my old stuff
Very help full. I'm now setting my Ugritone drums (Against Humanity). Are you from Norway? I can hear some accent :)
Glad the video was helpful! And yes, I'm from Norway 😊
@@EV_Music 🤘🏻
Wow!
These immortal covers are too sick. I'd love to hear throned by blackstorms, last I checked no one has covered that yet except a drummer
Thanks man! 😁 I might have to look into that one, I find it slightly sad that there aren't any decent tabs or covers showing how to play a lot of the old black metal when it has been around for three decades now.
🙌🙌🙌
😄
Nice Demo mate ... thanks,I will get a set ..
I guess Opie never died, he went simply to heart of the winter.
Love Sons of Anarchy! 😂
Flat tops went on my acoustic for the first time today and I'm absolutely blown away. They make everything sound very professional and clean. All the unwanted Fret noise has gone. They've made such a huge difference. Almost like having a brand new instrument with a brand new sound. I don't think there's any reason to avoid putting these on all your guitars. .
Yupp, I agree. There are a couple of brands I believe that make actual flatwounds for acoustic guitars. There have been some mentions in the comments of this video (can't remember them at the moment). So I really want to try that in the future, but these Flat tops are great, I'm never going back to roundwounds.
Awesome
😁
Amazing job man !😎 I love Immortal, especially acoustic parts in their songs. Norden on fire intro is amazing. It would be great to watch you playing it. Great covers anyway 😀🍻
Thanks man! 😁 I agree, Immortals acoustic and clean parts are awesome. 🤘
I've wanted to stream myself working with FL Studio for literally over a decade! However, the latency it causes is maddening and is exactly why I've never done it! For people that don't physically use a midi controller/keyboard to play the notes within their DAW, the latency isn't that big of a deal. They can simply draw in their notes and the latency doesn't bother them. But for someone like me who's an actual pianist who *WANTS TO PLAY MY KEYBOARD LIVE ON STREAM*, the extra latency literally makes it feel impossible! It makes it sound like I have no idea how to play the piano and the frustration it causes is enough for me to give up on the idea all together! I haven't watched your video yet.. but I'm hoping you actually give me a legit resolution! Because so far I've watched a hundred other videos like this one and none of them offer any real resolution!
Hey man! I don't really stream music making. But this should work, if I remember correctly i actually tested it by setting up a private streaming session just to check if it was synced and I got it working. By testing and setting the sync offset option on your audio tracks in OBS you should be able to have your livestream synced. Let me know how it goes and if it doesn't work I might be able to help! Hope you get it working 👍
Why do they cost so much $17.99 plus tax .
Probably more labor that goes into making them cause they flatten out the winding
great stuff! how exactly did you get the tone? imo it's perfect
Thanks! This is a preset I made on my Quad Cortex, but as long as you have something that gives you distortion that's fine. I send my Quad Cortex to my audio interface and record directly into the computer, so there are no amps or mics involved. I use the bridge pickup with the tone and volume knob set to max for the distorted guitar, and then the neck pickup with tone and volume set to max for clean stuff as well. I use an EQ afterwards where I high-pass at somewhere around 100-200hz. Then I boost with a slight slope at around 3k giving some boost to around 2-5k hz for some harshness. But most importantly is that the guitar is double tracked. I record the guitar twice and then pan the guitar hard left and right. So there are two guitars playing the exact same thing which makes the tone sound quite massive.
If aliens lands up to check some ancient norwegian black metal chords this might be close for desire, but untill then its just the pyramids and the Stonehenge they might come to take a look at.
One of the absolute best metal solo's of all time imo; thanks for your version! Mysteries unveiled!
Such a sick cover. This song is deceptively technical in a lot of aspects Good stuff man I just subscribed
Thanks! 😁
You've got to workout
Haha! 😂 So true, I was 117kg (258 pounds) back then. I'm 93kg (205 pounds) now. I'm 1,95m (6,4 foot) tall though, so 93kg isn't really that bad. But I will continue to workout and try my best to keep my diet clean 💪
can you do solarfall next
Hehe, I might start to look into it. But I will do Call of The Wintermoon first 😁
@@EV_Music Ty :D
That Guitar sound is grim and dark AF.
🔥 fuuuuuuuck yea
What plug-in did you use for the tone?
I use a quad cortex.
Pretty cool lyrics, very cool cover, even cooler riff to play!
😁🤘
@@EV_Music God damn.
Thank you. Huge difference on my Martin. Much better recordings.
😁👍
what an amazing cover 🤟 within the dark mind next?
Thank you! Probably Antarctica first if I'm going to figure out of another Immortal song. Or maybe Call of The Winter Moon 😄
That's the best cover of this song i've ever watched
Thanks 😁
Dude, this song is so fun and inspiring to play! However, a few parts are fuckin HARD 😵 (ie: the palm muted slides after his "solo"). Bravo for making it look casual!
Thanks for the comment man! Super fun to play indeed 😁 I think those fast single note parts in the bridge part is the hardest for me.
Hii. why is there still no sound when I plug only the socket that is not the midi out, usb, nor sustain? need your help thankss
Those are the only three inputs though? Except for the electricity that is optional since it is also powered by USB. At least on the Keystation61, are you using another midi keyboard?
I got some for the first time for my acoustic. Love the warm tone. I'm more of a mellow warm tone than the brighter. I might even want to to go lower like gypsy jazz or silk and steel
I lost it after the 4 minute mark, things don't match up, not sure how to proceed.
Thanks a lot, great video, very useful 😍
Glad it was helpful! 😁👍
I love that true FINISH!!!
🤘
Thank you.
😁👍
Also, where do you need to put the VST files for Reaper to recognise them? I've tried loads of locations within the C: drive for Reaper, and nothing..
Hi! You can check where reaper find VST plugins and add folder paths to where reaper checks for VST plugins by going to the "Options" drop down menu on the top. Then in the left window with the list you will find "VST" almost at the bottom of that list. On the top it will show you the "VST plug in paths) There's a button under there to the right which says "Edit path list..." there you can add folders reaper should check for plugins. Then you have to scan for them to show up.
@@EV_Music That's amazing cheers, though I got that far after I commented. I still have no sound. It looks plug and play in the video, like you install the stuff and plug in the drumpad. I've been messing around for over an hour and can't get a single sound out of it. I'll maybe just send it back.
@@j.m5888 Two things come to mind. Nr 1: You're adding VST's to a normal track. The input for the track should be set to "Midi" You can find a setting there called "All Midi Inputs" and then choose "All Channels" for your track input. Another way to just add VST instruments is by right clicking down where your tracks are and choose "Insert virtual instrument on new track" and I believe it then should automatically set the input to "All Midi Channels" As I commented on you're other comment, it might be a setting in the plugin. You could test that by installing Spitfire Audios "LABS", that is a VST management software. Almost like "Steam" for games. But all those LABS instruments are free and of very good quality, especially for bein free. You can find out how to get startet with that here: www.spitfireaudio.com/getting-started-labs I believe that if you install those instruments in their default path, that reaper will find them. On the LABS plugin you can easily see that "Midi Ch: ..." is a setting on the top there. So by installing something like the "Soft Piano" that they have and setting the "Midi Ch:" to "Any". Then that should work.
@@EV_MusicThanks for trying to help, it's hella complicated. I right-click and add 'Insert virtual instrument on new track', like the video. With that I set Input: MIDI - MPD218 - Channel 10 / All Channels, nothing.
@@j.m5888 I get your frustration man, I've been messing around with audio stuff for a long time. And it's such a hassle having to deal with all the programs and devices when all you want is to just make some music :/ Since you mentioned that it's a laptop though, I would guess your setup is fairly portable. So if you have a local music gear store, you might try taking it there and ask if someone there knows.
Hi there, thanks for the video. I can't get a sound out of it on either Ubuntu or Windows.. it lights up but none of the instruments shown produce any sound at all. I've downloaded the Akai software and installed Reaper, but nothing. Any ideas anyone?
Do you have any other midi devices that work? Like a keyboard? If you have other devices making sound and not the MPD that's a little strange. It could be the plugin that you are trying to use though. I know that some plugins need to have a setting for what midi channel they are using to work. For example I use "Kontakt" which is a sort of VST instrument loader. It has a setting called something like "Midi Ch:" Where I have to change it from whatever it says to "Omni" which I believe just means "All" and then it starts to work. So it might be a setting in the plugin that you are trying to use. Hope that helps! 😁
@@EV_Music I tried to get Reaper running on Ubuntu first, but all the proprietary software forced me onto an old Windows laptop I keep for emergencies. The VU shows input from the MPD, but no sound in any configuration. I imagined the default would be what's plugged in (headphones) but nothing. In the video it's plug in, pick a channel and that's it, but I must be missing something.
