That's because Johnny loves Stevie and he treats her as his third child and second daughter. He lent her his business expertise when she was about to flip out and sell the motel that the Roses were living in. Stevie and Johnny are incredibly close and she sort of idolizes him. So, when Johnny had his chest pains that turned out to be indigestion she drove him all the way to the hospital in Elmdale.
@@CelesteKTheNewWaveRevue Stevie is clearly a nuanced character. Ruthless in making sure she was not losing Jake, but naked and overwhelmed in trying to manage the motel. She played a large part in rescuing the Rose family and in-turn, the Rose family rescued Stevie financially and spiritually.
@@CelesteKTheNewWaveRevue Sonething I've noticed is that on several occasions when Stevie was present, Johnny would include her whenever he referenced "the kids" to Moira. Stevie would point out that she's not actually family and everyone would ignore the comment because, at that point, she was to them.
Love this guy so much! The characters he created though so different from normal people were yet so relatable. And David is my absolute favorite. What a legend!
The last 2 episodes they did get a bit serious....to see Stevie be serious....in helping Johnny set up Rosebud and then being the best friend David ever hsd....was just so touching. She came a LONG way from the sarcastic motel employee from Season 1. Alexis' turnaround was also wonderful. This was one of the best series finales EVER. Right up there with Cheers. MASH, The Fugitive, Mary Tyler Moore,
Watching Schitts Creek during the pandemic for the first time was as if Dan Levy was a seer, so many scenes that we could relate to at that time. Alexis getting sick and Maura had her wear a face mask, the bathroom being built in the store "looking like a quarantine station" the hike episode when David pulls out hand sanitizer, he doesn't go anywhere with out it, Alexis shockingly wearing sweats (we all were) David saying he can get her style back, Alexis wanting a game night to feel normal being around people! A few more that do not come to mind right now, but watching it at that time was Wow, it's as if Dan Levy knew hmmmm he is a genius so maybe he did!
HOT TAKE: I think the Rose family is dressed mostly in black & white or neutral colours to contrast them with the colourful citizens of Schitt's Creek. In moments when they start to find footing in the town, their wardrobes occasionally find colour- Alexis wearing the blue scrubs when she starts working with Ted, for example. Also, the fact that David is able to create a store with his same monochromatic design scheme shows that the town is likewise making room for him. I'm not really sure about this, it's just something I've noticed, but it's possible that it doesn't entirely track through the series.
@@raem7846 and david also starts incorporating other colors into his outfits after he meets patrick!!! for example he had the red/orange sweater in the episode with the open mic, and he had the pride sweater in the series finale!!!
Can I just say that this song was a perfect choice for this video! I totally relate to David Rose, and I’m also a MIKA fan, but you just showed me a whole new level
I really need to stop watching Schitt's creek related videos. I just finished the series a couple of days ago and I'm giving myself a break before I watch it again in its entirety (at a much slower pace this time). I watched the entire show in under two weeks and the final season in 1 day and a half.
it took me 3 days to watch the final season because i kept crying and kept not being able to finish it. that was a while back and now i'm going to rewatch it too.
@@summrofsatrn I know I'm going to cry the second time around. Especially at the MEET THE PARENTS and obviously the finale HAPPY ENDING. Meet the parents really stayed with me and I really saw myself in that episode. It really showed how it can be for a lot of people when coming out(including me), how it's more of wanting your loved ones to accept you, not treat you differently and hoping that your relationship won't change and not about being ashamed of who you love and are attracted to (I know that a lot of people also choose to stay in the closet because they are ashamed of themselves or other circumstances) . And I think that even people who don't or didn't struggle with their sexual identity can connect and see themselves in that episode in some way or another.
it was, but only because he talked very quietly in the first couple of seasons and was generally not as expressive. he was either completely quiet or uttered something sarcastic. I feel like he became louder and more animated as time went by because he started feeling more confident and comfortable where he was, so he was less guarded when interacting with people
Stevie and David's conversation before the house always make me emotional!
Me too

We can all agree that Stevie is emotionally healthier than the whole Rose family combined, right? And Patrick even more so than her.

losing their money was the best thing that happened to david. I'm not gonna explain why cause I know you guys know why.
I literally cannot love a character and couple more than David and Patrick.
David Rose is a mood and I am here for all of it!
Omg stop I'm emotional
As am I.
Ahh thank you for this it made me laugh and cry simultaneously haha! David most definitely is an extremely relatable icon
So I'm only halfway through season 2 of SC, but I'm obsessed with David! Thank you for this sneak peak into what's to come :)
Awww, poor David. I plan to subscribe to Netflix and watch the entire show. I wanna see the Pre-Patrick David.
We all have a little david in all of us ❤...
This was perfectly edited. Well done
Does he only wear black and white? I mean for the most part.
Yes!
Mostly. Just like Moira lol!

Honestly I can't express my love for this character.... maybe thats sad but who cares
I just cried a bit.
Ok so that made me cry

Was his voice deeper in the first few seasons? It seems to get higher the further into the show the clips are.
