I just discovered photography. Bought my first camera around November of 2020. I have been studying and watching tutorials. I do not have a speedlight so all I have is the flash on the camera. I don't know how to shoot great portraits yet but I'm working on it. But I'm so obsessed with photography and I honestly can't put into words why I am. It's just amazing how you can catch a single moment in time and present the best of that person. It's way more than that but like I said I don't know how to describe why I'm so in love with it.
Hey B&H could you please point me towards a speedlight that would be compatible with my Canon Rebel t100? I've searched and searched but can't find one that's under $100
Thank you for every second of this. I’m a portrait photographer. It’s what I do and who I am. Every word you said resonated with me. I can’t wait for the next episodes just to see what you do. Nikon shooter since I was 16 and I’m now 50.
"I simply want to bring out the best in people." I absolutely love that, and is my very reason for capturing portraits. I could just never find the words to describe it. Great video!!
Thank you so much for sharing your insights. Is it possible to have a tutorial on an approach to less photogenic models? All your models are absolutely stunning, and I reckon that is cheating (a bit) :)
I have enjoyed seeing a lot of your videos in recent years, always well done. This was excellent. You work hard at your work, and get great results. Looking eagerly for more.
Omg I'm the first one to comment. I am shooting with a Canon rebel t100 but I don't care because I have a real passion for it. Hey how about a discount so I could actually afford a good camera lol. I love u guys and Jerry
@@prilljazzatlanta5070 oh cool. Can I ask you a question? I'm currently trying to learn how to edit photos using lightroom. Is this a decent editing program to learn on?
@@SimplySavageReactions honestly im not much of an editor. Ive been using darktable for free to learn more. May want to give that a try and see what you think

Howdy🙂 I have been watching your videos for awhile . You have grown. Job Well Done!! How are your Models chosen? R you located n New York? Thank you kindly.
Expertly done. I agree with you wholeheartedly that a photographer should buy the best equipment they can afford and learn how to use what you’ve purchased with your hard earned money. Problem is your contemporaries are hawking the newest this or that because they aren’t paying for it. Hard to find a pro not shooting a Z9. I’m not seen as a pro - I don’t make a living as a photographer. I don’t own two flagship cameras from the same manufacturer. Yet I’m still out here. Taking photos for the sheer love of art form. Thanks for taking the time to talk to me.
Great video: I shoot dance and portraits myself, and my motivation is pretty much exactly what you just described, Jerry. Really looking forward to the next video in the series!
What compels you to take portraits?

and thank you for watching!
absolutely wonderful how the results are.. superb talent and very inspiring!!!
I often ask myself why I do portraits. For now, I'm at the stage of showing my clients how good they look ;-)

Nothing wrong with that. I personally love rebels even over the “professional” cameras

Jerry has been my inspiration for years. He's humble, he's honest, he brings the best out of his subjects.
Thanks Jerry! As an introvert, I find it very interesting (and ironic) that I prefer to shoot portraits more than any other subjects.
