Thanks for the detailed video. My daughter just asked me to go on UA-cam to fix hers. Love UA-cam. I have fixed my car, microwave, TV and toaster. Thanks again
My problem was, that the Maxi Cosi was still mounted. You have to put the whole metal thing back while someone else is puting the Maxi Cosi up. I say "somone else" because I had to use a lot of force to put it back. The manual says you should stick something inside the very small hole seen in 0:39 in this vid. Though I had to open it as far as I could to push the metal back strong enough. Just wanted to share this, if someone else has the same problem. Sorry if english is not perfect.
I had the same problem and just got answer of MaxiCosi. There is a whole under the isofix system where you have to put in a long narrow object, like a screwdriver, so the maxi cosi will come off easily!
You just saved my life :) Thank you so much for this video. After trying for an hour and getting into several fights, this video helped me fix it in 5 minutes!
Thanks so much. The seat was still on the base so it was very hard. I couldnt fix the base as I didnt get the cable in the lever that accurate. It went loose after each try. But it helped to free the seat and use it without the base in the second car.

Top! I have exactly the same problem! only I can't get the gray handle up as far as in the movie! therefore I cannot get the cable back in .... anyone any tips?
I pryed the grey handle out from sides first. Then it is easy to put the cable back in place. No need to remove more screws than shown in the video. I also drilled a hole in handle next to cable end and put a small screw in to prevent the cable from popping out again.
Great video, but it seems that the release cable has now stretched to the point where it won't disengage the seat from the base. Does anyone know if spares are available, or a parts list with assembly drawings?
Hi, I need that button where you are fixing in the vid. Do you know where I can buy spare parts for familyfix online? Don't want send it to Maxi Cosi directly for repair.
Thanks for this instruction, very helpfull! But I must fix a wire and do not know how to divide the two parts. I removed 6 screws from the bottom but there is something else that keeps the parts togheter. Do you know the solution? Thanks!

Same issue here, I wonder if this is a slightly different variant than our FamilyFix bought mid-2017. While lifting hard the grey handle with screwdrivers we ended up breaking a small piece of plastic behind the test button. This actually gave us more access and we managed to reinstall the cable. Now to see how long it lasts…
@@KJTDominicus Not the grey handle! A little black plastic rectangle, about 2 inch long, with a hole in the middle (it kind of hides the push mechanism behind the test button).
try to pull the cable with some needle nosed pliers, the locking mechanism should be openend. An other person should try to pull the maxi cosi during you pull the cable. Good luck!
I used a piece of thin wire to tie around the little metal piece, tied the wire around a piece of wood and pulled the wooden piece. That worked. Good luck
Many thanks! I'm repairing mine right now, without this video i was absolutly desperate!

Any ideas on how to do this while the carseat is still locked in the familflyfix ??? Answers greatly appreciated
You can push in the hole with a screw driver. It wil unlock the car seat from the family fix
