I so love that you and your kiddos share this love of the cosmere! And Fletcher’s crocheted cloak was amazing. Your dress was beautiful. So glad for you all to have such a true fan experience! 💜💚🩷
Aw I love Max’s sweet little face! It’s so cool that you got to listen to Sanderson talk. He’s so very eloquent! You can tell his writing style in the way he speaks. It’s crazy, his voice sounded familiar even though I’m not sure I’ve actually heard him talk before. That’s crazy about the water situation, you’d think that would be something any party planning would start with or at least make a priority. The trading story cards thing sounded like it was a blast! Was the convention in the salt palace convention center? I’m so sorry you got so sick! I have something similar now. It’s that time of year unfortunately. Oh my gosh the Chull plushie 😂😂😂😂
Yes, it was at the Salt Palace Convention Center! He does speak very well and I love his humor. :) He seems to be a natural at it, which doesn’t always translate from writing to speaking. I know I’m much more eloquent when I write than when I have to use my mouth to form words in real time, lol.
Although now The Stormlight Archive is my favorite seties from him, my first books were Mistborn and the follpwing 2, and it is so special to me I squealed when I sae Brandon omg Dalinar is my same age! OMG I don't know if I'm hormonal, I cry for every single little thing (which I know I do but have been doing so more lately), a combination of that or something else entirely, but I would've LOVED to be there! There just are some human beings which I wish I could just hug (and I'm not a hugger) and he is one of them hahaha If this becomes a yearly thing I might be able to get to it some day, it would be so cool, and get to meet people who also like it, since as you said it seems to be so niche and other than internet friends, I really don't know anyone else who has read at least one book in the Cosmere
I also got emotional and choked up several times throughout the trip! Being there with my kids and being able to celebrate these books that mean so much to me was really fantastic. It has been happening annually for several years now! I hope you can make it someday (and that I can meet you there! Haha).
@@DPandDP Oh wow I rememebr hearing about it once but after that if flew out of my radar, didn't know it kept happening, but also, it's been only a little over a year where so many things in my life shifted and I've been able to look closely to what I truly love, so it makes sense that thise flew out of my radar OMG it would be so so so cool 1.- to get to meet you in person, but 2.- get to meet you THERE! I'm so happy you got to enjoy this experience with your kids, they look like such cool people too!
Looks like an amazing time! A bit peopley, but I think being there with your kids, and dressing up, so fun! I haven't read any of his books. I have no idea where to start, any suggestions would be awesome! I can go look too. Thanks for sharing, hope you feel better!!
Definitely very peopley! But most of them were my kinda people, at least. :) oooh as for where to start, Brandon always recommends starting with Mistborn: The Final Empire. It gives you an idea of his writing style, but it’s a shorter read than some of his later works. If you like heist/adventure with cool world building and a great magic system, you’ll probably love it! Alternatively, if you prefer something a bit more whimsical and fairy tale like, Tress of the Emerald Sea would be a fun place to start. But it’s written in a different “voice” than most of his books, so it’s a bit less indicative of what you can expect with the rest of his stories. I jumped right into his longest book series, the Stormlight Archive, but that’s because I was familiar with books like that after reading Wheel of Time. So it really depends on your preferences!
The convention looked like so much fun! Sorry you're sick now though. Hoping you feel better soon! 🤞
Thank you for sharing this I loved it so much😊
Thank you for watching! :)
I don't know anything about these books, but it looks like such a fun event! It's so fun to find your people. Hope you're feeling better soon!
