    You are correct. The "directions" that come with the tool raise more questions than they answer. It's been two years since I used mine to make a pompom and I had a major brain freeze on how to use it again. Thanks for the video. Thumbs up.😍

    I too use the clover Pom Pom makers but if you want the center to be really tight but some coated thread like beeswax and wrap and knot first on the top then the bottom and then on the top and the thread wax will melt and lock those threads tight. Saw it in passing and it works great

    • @SummersTipsandStitches
      @SummersTipsandStitches  6 років тому

      That is a good idea to use the beeswax thread. The last I made, for my son, I used the cardboard method, and I thought I tied it very tight. Well he wore it to school one day and it fell apart. I was probably pulling on the pompom when taking the hat on and off! hehe

    Hi Summer! I didn’t mean any disrespect at all on the Pom Pom makers! I do use the clover brand. I always love it when you show us different brands/products we might not have seen or tried yet. I bought a tulip etimo hook based on your video and I love it. I still use my clover hooks too. Thank you for sharing these Pom Pom makers with us. I always enjoy your videos! You make me smile 😊😊!! Happy Holidays

      It's nice to try different products. I switch between the tulip and clover, but I like the clover just a bit better. I have only made pom poms by hand before, so this product seemed really nice. No doubt the clover one was better! I was not offended.

      I like the cheap yarnology (hobby Lobby's generic brand). It's not fancy and gets the job done. It costs about $6. From the comments I guess Clover makes a really nice one you can get on amazon for about $12.
      I make videos on my phone, so with the number of pictures I have of my kids on there, I can hold a lot of videos...so I had to delete it right away to make a new one!

    Hi Summer, WoW, those are very good pompom makers, especially for the price. I found a set of 4 on Amazon (by "AccMart Knitting Loom"), that look exactly like the "clover" pompom makers BUT they were under $5-$6 dollars, and arrived in about 3 days. I have several pompoms from them, and they are very easy and work great!!!!

    I got mine from Ali express and paid about $3.00 and love them. Could I suggest something to you? You really need to wrap your yarn alot more around it. If you wrap more you would get amazing round, solid pompoms. While I was watching, I was talking to you like a crazy woman, I was saying that it's going to fall apart and wrap more. To my surprise it turned out great. See I watch you for a reason, I learn something all the time. I can get great pompoms with a third of the yarn.

    9 minutes? Honey, there are vids on youtube for this. A suggestion....use small detail scissors to cut thru...big scissors will just give you fits. Also if you tug on one strand of the finished product they come out easily. No matter how tight I tie them they come apart easily. The yarn one uses to does not stretch so it's best to tie off with crochet thread....does not stretch. I HATE making poms. Thanx for sharing :D
