iron maiden's first two album are so precious, they give completely different vibes from the others but still have a iron maiden's sound to it, what a legendary band! also, i've never seen this album cover before, definitely love it!
this was the art when Twilight Zone was a single- look into the brown colored vinyl version if you wanna see some crazy prices
it was also printed as a poster in the mid 80s but that is now quite elusive/rare (appropriate enough)
Also Iron Maiden albums from 1982 to 1988 are the most powerful ever..

Yeah had good range too bad he constantly lost his voice due to poor technique and had a drug problem which didn't help let him go was the right move love his work though

God I just love all the artworks by Derek Riggs. They somehow draw you in.

Not gonna lie, I wish I could have heard what the band would have evolved into if Paul had remained the singer for longer than he did. We all love Bruce but Killers was such an interesting album where you could hear the mix of the rougher edge punk-influenced sound of the first album and a little bit of the more trademark Maiden sound that was to come and it's such an awesome dynamic.
By all accounts, I don't think Di'Anno staying would've done any good for the band. He was extremely hard into drugs and jaded with the direction the band was going, and he was lucky to even make it to the end of the Killers tour. Di'Anno wanted out, and the band didn't want him anymore, so it was inevitable that he was going to part ways.
@@tylerlarsen1842 actually, Di'Anno didn't even finish the Killers tour. He was fired near the end and Bruce and the band did a few last gigs in Italy and some other places. You can read it in Bruce's autobiography.
There is also a live version of twilight zone with Bruce on vocals on youtube from that period.
We don't all love Bruce. I think he is absolute dogshit.

my thoughts exactly -- Killers is not only my favorite Maiden album, it's one of my favorite hard rock/metal albums, easily in my top 10

I still have this 'Twilight Zone' poster hanging on my wall.. had it since 1990/91 (when I was 16).. copyright 1981.. it's hung in almost every dwelling that I have inhabited.. cherished possession.. up the irons!
I have this art on a black and white, total bootleg tapestry I got from Canada.. it's probably old as hell, I've seen a few similar to it that do go back to the 80s

In my Japanese "Killers" vinyl, Twilight Zone is included under the name "Details Of Twilight Zone". Great song! Up the Irons!
Damn, you got a Japanese version, man I would kill for one of those.
That is because band manager Rod Smallwood also sent a short note titled "Details of twilight zone" explaining the lyrics and etc. But someone responsible for issuing the records thought that was the name of the song.

When Maiden had 10th anniversary of debut album, some music magazine (forgot which one) added CDs with their most popular songs, and every single one ended with recording of Nicko McBrain telling you about songs you just listened to. Some of them are funny anecdotes like this one.

AC/DC. Genesis. Van Halen. At least those are three bands to maintain or improve on their success.

Granted, it was actually a double A-side.
The song was originally intended to be the B-side of Wrathchild, but the band felt it was so strong that it deserved to be the A-side instead. The single's other song, "Wrathchild", was also given 'A-side' status because, according to Steve Harris, "we had a live version of us doing 'Wrathchild' at the Rainbow, before Christmas, on video that we could use. We couldn't afford to pay for another video for 'Twilight Zone', so we did a double A-side, because we knew we were gonna be off touring a lot and, if by any chance they wanted us on Top of the Pops again, at least we'd got a video for 'Wrathchild' we could give them."

Twilight Zone es una perla absoluta. Varios años después de escuchar Killers lo escuché y se me pusieron los pelos de punta al punto de no entender por qué no formó parte del álbum. Está al mismísimo nivel que los otros diez temas.

@@vincespartacus372 I was 11. Piece of Mind was my first Maiden album at age ca. 14. Steve Harris was a definite influence early on for me on the bass. I had never seen a bassist front and center like he was/is, plus that metallic royal blue bass. I loved/love all of the colors of Maiden!

"Twilight Zone" isn't even on the proper band-sequenced version of "Killers," meaning I can't listen to the official playlist without the album being screwed up... (Made even worse with "Purgatory" and "Genghis Khan" being stuck in there twice since they have the same issue.)
