Montalcino è un bel borgo medievale in provincia di Siena ed è famoso per il suo eccellente vino Brunello, conosciuto in tutto il mondo. Lo storico borgo risalente al XV secolo si visita con molto interesse, si erge fra l'alto in cima ad una collina piuttosto alta per cui da lassù si gode uno spettacolare panorama sugli incantevoli scenari della Val d'Orcia e sul vicino Monte Amiata.
A 10 km da Montalcino, loc.Castelnuovo dell'Abate, sorge isolata in una piccola pianura contornata da vigneti ed uliveti la bellissima Abbazia di Sant'Antimo (XII secolo), splendido esempio di architettura medievale del romanico toscano. Se siete in zona è una visita imperdibile.
Montalcino is a beautiful medieval village in Siena province and is famous for its excellent Brunello wine, appreciated all over the world. The historic 15th century village can be visited with great interest, it stands on top of a rather high hill so that you can also enjoy a spectacular panorama of the enchanting Val d'Orcia scenery and the nearby Amiata Mount.
10 km from Montalcino, near Castelnuovo dell'Abate, stands isolated in a small plain surrounded by vineyards and olive groves the beautiful Sant'Antimo Abbey (12th century), a splendid example of medieval tuscan romanesque architecture. If you are in the area it's a must visit.

¡Oh, otra belleza! Querido Ad, retornar del trabajo y encontrarme con la belleza de este encantador pueblo medieval Montalcino me hace sentir como si estuviese ahí, justo caminando por esos espléndidos cipreses, realmente eres bendecido Ad, porque tus ojos han mirado lugares tan hermosos y pintorescos que parecen una pintura hecha a lápiz por el creador. Siempre echo a volar mi imaginación con los sitios que nos presentas y que provienen del tiempo medieval, cuántas historias transitaron por ese sitio a través de sus pobladores, aún en la actualidad, se percibe a través de las imágenes maravillosas que captaste que el tiempo parece detenerse para que admiremos su esplendor. ¡Oh!, me encantaría estar en lo más alto de la colina para dibujar en mi mente esos minutos de gloria visual y recrearlos cada que recuerde ese momento en Moltancino y sus alrededores en la maravillosa Toscana. Aunque no suelo beber, bien podría disfrutar de una copa de vino, no importa si estoy acompañada o no, un sitio así te hace sentir abrigado y reencontrarte con un tiempo en el ayer perdido. ¡Ah, bueno! Y ya que estoy soñando, también desearía algún día ver un viñedo y olivares, ya que nunca he tenido esa dicha y ya por último, estaría fascinada mirando la impactante belleza de la arquitectura Romana en todo su esplendor. ciao Sergio, malgrado "Italy the best" siamo la quarta nazione d'Europa per flussi turistici dall'estero, dopo Francia Spagna e addirittura Germania.....questo la dice lunga sulla nostra disorganizzazione e incapacità di mettere a frutto i nostri immensi tesori☹ io sono stato qualche giorno a Ischia e là mi sono pure ammalato😢 spero che andrà meglio a metà luglio quando vado su in Trentino😊
