Perceptions are everything. . . . . As far as kneeling and shouting is concerned? Lol. I don't know where you got that. BLM isn't out forcing people to kneel. I'm 45. Prof. West has been one of my heroes since early teenage when my uncle showed me one of his interviews on TV.
I grew up wishing that one day I'd meet him and he would call me "my brother".
Of all the great things we humans can do, this extraordinary man naturally excels in the hardest: deep, benevolent, all-embracing, no accessories and no lying, real, wisdom derived of love. I like the world a lot because men and women like him are in it.
That list is in fact a lot longer than one my think. I heard the word, I read the books and I have other names as well populating our young minds as a part of my family and upbringing. But Dr. West spoke like a superhero to me. Although he is living history, he is of this time, my time, he's here. Very much alive and amidst us all, and I always feel privileged for this and for his thoughts.
Perhaps the most precious thing my uncle and my mother ever gave me as a child was a simple phrase: "It's all right that your heroes do not look like you on the outside. They may be your heroes because of something a lot better than that".
Like all mums and uncles, my words.. were they so right.
This interview is on my replaylist. I would love if you could bring him back. Specially now Joe.

Neolibs have destroyed the credibility of the left by obsessing over identity politics while not actually challenging the economic status quo in any real way. It is only a matter of the left being able to truly represent itself without smears and propaganda. Working class Republicans can't help but listen to Bernie when he demonstrates where their economic anxiety ACTUALLY comes from. Even white nationalists can't help but silently acknowledge the fact that Bernie does actually want what's best for the people, when they could otherwise just call him a Jew and be done with it. But he doesn't fit their stereotype. Once the socialist scare propaganda is broken through, the true left will win. Power to the people.

Great observation. It’s incredibly challenging to exercise and master humility. It’s without a doubt that Dr. West has to practice daily to keep grounded. Civility. Imagine being able to have a civil conversation with your polar opposite. Especially when your counterpart is biased and unruly. I love how this man sets such an incredible example. West is smart enough to know that the issues that are present in the U.S. are not caused by President Trump. Heck, he's just been in office since January 2017. These issues have been around forever. The ruling class in the U.S. has failed the citizens, and they have pushed back by electing Trump. If they don't fix things, it will only get worse and you'll get another guy like Trump elected. That's why guys like Bill Maher who wish for a recession to assist in booting Trump from office, are just ignoring the larger problems which put him in office in the first place.

if you study the bible from a dispassionate perspective you'll realize the closest thing to a real christian is the phelps family of usa.
the bible explicitly tells you to hate on others.
and the jesus character reinforces that when he explicitly tells you not to abolish or modify the 613 commandments of the old testament(a.k.a. "the law") but to obey them as written.
      i'm glad he's no a true christian.
