I really admire your stand in God. You Express confidence about your relationship with God so eloquently. You do not allow anyone to diffuse that confidence. The question of why you are so worldly was purposed to bring shame. People with that mindset might compare you with your mother. They fail to see the beauty in you're being uniquely you. I believe your mother is very happy with that immutable fact.

Kierra I think you answered the question phenomenally well on listening to worldly music. I think that's where a lot of people get things misconstrued when they look at Christians as if we're only supposed to adapt to the gospel. Music is an art with in it self, and if we don't allow it to dictate our life, then I think it's okay to listen to whatever you want to listen to. Now when you allow it to dictate your life and you start acting out so what the writer is thinking about, then that's where you're messing up at, and committing sin. I feel like alot of people need to remember that God has given everyone a gift and where to use that gift. Now I do believe that there is some artist that's abusing the gift especially when it consist of cursing /degrading women or men. As a young woman in Christ still listening to R&B I feel like that a lot of artist have drawn further away from the music and to more of a lustful music. Personally I stick with old 90's.

Kiki I love the way you responded to the letter about the music it was a very loving and real response and you even came with the scripture.
I definitely was a little heated when you read the letter and I also thought it was funny just because people really have these stringent ideas about how Christians "should" operate and do not consider our individuality. I was ova here like ughh whoever wrote this letter needs to calm their entire life down because the Bible never said that you are to live a lackluster life and never enjoy yourself. Like bruh, it's just music.
God is so expansive He created Quantum physics but he also created poetry. He created the exact degrees to which the planets stay in orbit at any moment yet he also created flowers. We are created in God's image and we all look different which means we all carry his spirit/ energy and it is okay to be different.
And it really does bother me that people think that we are supposed to be these rigid lackluster individuals with no life outside of the Bible when God is so expansive. I literally see God in everything. I don't understand how people think God is only in one place when He is omnipresent. We are all different and we received different parts of God to connect with people who resonate with those parts of us.
So for everyone who reads this to the end in good spirit, the God in me salutes the God in you because I see you and feel you and our energy is one.
Being a Chrisitan is not about being relegated to a certain category.
How can we relate to people in the prison walls if all we listen to is Gospel?
We prolly can't.
The point is we can't be all spiritual all the time. We are spiritual beings having a human experience so therefore we gotta find a balance or we lose connection.

I mean it ain't that deep to me. I am an individual thinker. I will listen to whatever music I want to. Yes, music has power absolutely. For me I don't listen to a lot of hip hop bc I get angry. So as much as I love me some Lil Kim I can't listen to her every day. Because I will be round here mad at everybody for no reason🤣🤣🤣🤣. R&B is my first love. It keeps me calm, smooth, level headed. I think my calm demeanor has a little bit to do with the music I listen to. But a whole lot to do with my heart's posture and my alignment to God.
But everyone is different you gotta find the groove / frequency/ the vibe that works for you.
At the end of the day these folks ain't got a Heaven or hell to put you in. Soooo they may take their judgment elsewhere because I reject and rebuke their energy.

@@Begrateful7 You have to interpret scripture with scripture to get the meaning. We can't pull one out and say it means this or that. We are not saved by works but those who are TRULY saved will produce good works. If our "good works" could save us then there was no need for Jesus.
