If Garmin 8 is to be an improvement, let it improve the operating time without charging, the AMOLED display does not have to be an improvement at all. This watch has everything you need. The only thing I'm counting on is, I repeat: extending the time without charging.
Until solid state batteries are available there's nothing much they can do. Maybe they'll get a 10 to 20 percent increase by lowering consumption through millions of R&D but IMO battery tech has peaked.
