So many people in the comments bashing or regretting their traditional roles. Ridiculous. Many many of us living a traditional life are very happy and content, if that isn’t her path that doesn’t mean anyone else’s is wrong. I also despise the idea that having a family or home completely wrecks any hope of travel/experiences/hobbies. I get out into nature with my family, travel, have amazing experiences that I share with them and it makes life and those moments have such depth. Then when we are tired and need comfort we go back to our home and feel secure. I love that people live this lifestyle she’s representing- everyone should do what makes them happy- but no one should have think they’re missing out or doing better than others. No one should limit what they can achieve or have based on a fear that having a family will somehow destroy their chances of doing what they want. Life is truly what you make it.
I haven't worn a watch in 14 years, I sleep when I'm tired, eat when I'm hungry, work when I need money and play when I'm bored. Haven't had a boss in 43 years, time and dates mean very little to me.
I've been obsessed with this kind of life for 10 years. I actually don't ever see letting it go and only continuing to delve deeper. Thanks for sharing!
I caught all my dreams but one....never got to Alaska....yet. Worked and explored in every sate, learning skills that were scoffed at by my Black community, loved to hunt, winter camp, be alone and become more sufficient. Even married 33 years and in the golden years of my life, none of those years were typical. I am so Grateful.
I love that you live this lifestyle. It will serve you all through your life into your golden years. - An old lady backpacking, car camping, eclectic.🌿
good for you sweety, now at 68 i realize there are things i should have planned a bit for, like becoming 68 and 20 yrs. after this :) . save as much as you can, use what you do to make so savings and know that if you dont the later yrs. will be tuff but hope the memories stay with you.
i am also obsessed, I hike in the rocky mountains every weekend. planning on hiking mountains all over the world. everyone has a different path that makes them happy.
I felt this comment. I did the typical cookie cutter life and now I look back like man, I could have did so much other fulfilling things. But I instead chose to listen to other people tell me how it's supposed to be instead of following what *I wanted to do. That's why I try to talk to my kids every chance I get to live your life however you want. Live life for yourself not for anyone else!!
All of this. 59 years old and I've been on disability since I was 49. Live while you can! Have the life you want. Being a girl is no reason to give up on your dreams. Besides, dreams change. If there is another person involved in your dreams, they may change. Become yourself! Best of luck.🍀🍀🍀
@@timgreen2426If you have no friends, whose fault is that? I'm 74, with no children. I do not regret it. I have more friends than I could have had children!! We take care of each other. Stop regretting and get out of your lonely house and meet people!! You're still young!!✨🤦🌠
@@brookeggleston9314 I enjoyed your positive message. Choosing to focus on the good aspects seems to lead to a much better life in the end from the patterns I’ve seen, regardless of the circumstances.
I just recently took the first steps towards living this kind of life and already things are starting to go my way rn like ever before, I’m happier, other people are more friendly and outgoing towards me, I’m making new friends and living a healthier life. Humans were meant to live free like this and if you take the first steps the universe will help you along the way
Me too. I’m 62 now. Retired from my traditional job. I was a tree climber for 30yrs I slept in my car for 8yrs. I’ve cycled across The USA 4 times. Australia India China and Europe. Now I’m preparing for Appalachian Trail. 5/1/23
Your your experiences are nothing when you’re dead you leave behind nothing no memories you just simply cease to exist like your memories never happened but when you leave behind kids and a family that you created they carry on memories in your name for generations. Ima stay over here and enjoy my memories with my kids and let them carry the torch when I’m done ✌🏻
Keep going I've traveled around the world for 17 year's then raised my kid's on my own, now they are grown up and now I'm living on my yacht. I'm dam near 60 now and plan to keep going, so you go girl... enjoy life
Learned how to snowboard... hanging behind spending an hr acting like i was lacing my snow boots and listening in on the instructor teaching a full class. I took that knowledge and started snowboarding...so easy but felt Hella soar the next day. Loved it ❤
If you’re ever near Chicago check out Starved Rock State Park off I-80 near the Illinois River. No Mountains, but small waterfalls that are fun after rain, lots of deer and great amenities.
I wanted to be an archaeologist but decided settling down and having a family was my ultimate goal, I'm happy with that choice. It's a lot of what you genuinely feel like you can look back on and think "do I have regrets?"
I wanted to do the same ever since I was 10… sadly I haven’t followed that passion… yet. I did the traditional route and it’s been a great experience but my husband and I are planning to shake things up and start doing some real living ☺️
There’s plenty of time to have children and t purchase a home. You’re still young. Trust me when I say, those with children and having a big mortgage, wish they had your life. Enjoy girlfriend. Be take full and be safe. Covina ca.
I’m like you but pretty old backed up pretty strong by the Kohl I’m only one in Sonora that wears ski pants during the winter time at 1800 feet but it helps. I’m not that cold. I’m pretty warm but happy that you can do this. that is awesome go for it!
I adore this mentality. I have wished for something most of my life. But what changed my view point was was one question What is my legacy? Children. I need to provide a lifestyle for my legacy where they too aspire to have the same need
Thank you for sharing your journey. I hope you have somebody important to be your partner in this. You're the typical what I would call a Colorado girl. Loving the mountains loving the outdoors travel and hiking loving the seasons. Go as far as you can climb as high as you can see every Vista. I strongly suggest you climb out of the holy cross. There's a great trail that goes behind the mountain and comes around the front it's called Cross Creek trail. It's a 3-day backpack that takes you from basic mining area up over a pass and then down through a more wilderness area where few people go because of the difficulty. I suspect that's where you find what's meaningful to you. Plus the views are incredible for Colorado.
All of you're friends think they are living life getting married, having kids and settling down that's the way society expects us to live but, there a little Nomad in people like you me and indy I've been a full time van traveler for over two years now and I can certainly say that my quality of life has improved tremendously from being stuck in a 9-5 and paying large sums for rent that isn't even justified for the living space last year I was in New mexico and this year i am in south TX the weather is pretty nice here and I think I'll stay until the end of spring good luck on you're travels and it doesn't matter how anyone perceives the lifestyle you choose as long as you are happy
Now that I'm 71. I was building my house at 25. I'm still in it 😂. And I've been around the world 🌍. So continue your journey. You'll have so many more stories to share 😜.
Cool lifestyle. I'm older and need to take meds for hypertension, but enjoy getting outdoors and away from the city. I want to prospect gold and hunt for old coins/relics....👍😺
Your just like my son he's love's bushcrafting . hunt's for his food then makes pelts with the fur and other things. Enjoy what you love doing and have a great time . Travel safe wildflower Peace

Very cool.
It’s your life. Lived the way you want. Enjoy!
Do not be concerned that your friends are going that route. It’s your route.
I mean you should be concerned though. At some point you will need to have a place to live and settle down in. Our bodies have an expiration date.
I lived in the woods with my ex for 3 or 4 years actually supporting his dream. So glad I left that life as it is so difficult and uncomfortable.
