Hi Clark, your the best teacher so far , when it comes to making tongs, and how easy your step by step instructions are. I'm 62 years old i have a fabrication shop, so i figured i get into this for many useful work, in forging..Thank you again Sir for the inspiration...
Glenn I have a similar grinder with the same on/off switch and I couldn't understand why it kept tripping the power, I took the switch out and found that metal filings had built up inside and were causing a short circuit, I used silicone to seal around the switch and I haven't had anymore problems. Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦.
Glad to know you sorted your grinder out. The environments that these tools operate in make for all sorts of possible problems. I just took my angle grinder apart and replaced the carbon brushes. Thanks Michael.
Hey Adem, that's a school. And yeah, the birds are really awesome. I haven't seen my best buddy bird in a while though and hope I see that bird soon. Thanks.
Those are great looking tongs Glen, I would go for a pair! Also not sure if you've mentioned it, those look like aluminum oxide belts for your BS, belt sander. If you can find ceramic abrasives you will have a much nicer time grinding steel. They last way longer and cut better.
I've been on the lookout for better BS belts. I found silicon carbide ones that I think are a step up but haven't found anything better than that so far. Thanks for watching and for your good input.
@@gstongs it's my understanding that silicone carbide belts are better at higher grits for polishing. The abrasive is very brittle and breakers to form new points. But not great for stock removal. I thoroughly enjoy your content. I love the roaming Taipei videos and that you're on your balcony. You often have a unique way of forging and I like to see how you go about problem solving.
Currently im working on my modification of cheap parkside groove lock pliers into universal blacksmith thongs (if shown sucesfull maybe i will even go fancy and do vice grips aswell.). it ain't no knipex cobra but for 3$ i am thinkering with it. Heck it if it works great if not its so cheap i dont care .Plan is to weld a angle iron on bottom jaw and a round rod on top jaw.
I like those very much ..the v swage is interesting but definitely needs a hardy on it, that would make it much easier to use. ...waiting to see how much you sell these tongs for :0)
Hi Bryson, my next video be will another take on this style but somewhat different. Glad there's a desire for unusual since it seems that's what I do best! Thanks.
I noticed you don’t generally draw out your reaigns is there any particular reason? Your work is great, Don’t get me wrong, but most videos that’s the first thing they show.
Hey bill, I'm still tinkering with this design so you never know. I'll actually post a sort of follow up to this as my next video. Thanks so much for all. 😬

I appreciate your kind comment. Tongs, I know. Other blacksmithing, maybe not so much. Thanks.
You are amazing Glenn...🙌
Tongs are my thing. That is all... Thanks brother.
Nice style, and a great process! You make it look so effortless! Keep up the great work, Sir!
Hey Steve, Tongs are fun for me. Other stuff, not so much. We're all a bit different... Thanks.
I am more impressed with your artistry with each video I watch. I hope to be ordering a set of tongs from you in about 10 days…payday! 😂😂😂
Thank you very much Glen! I look forward to putting them to use! I also agree with Steven Watkins, you make things look effortless!
May these tongs hold well for you my friend. I appreciate all you've done for the channel. 😬
@@gstongs My pleasure Glen, I will email when they arrive. Thank you again.

Those tongs look good!
I make further changes to this style for my next video. A good tong for sure. Thanks Anthony.

In the next video I post, this will make a reappearance and with a hardy shank attached. I'll charge the same for these as all my tongs. Thanks.
Awesome idea! Thank you for sharing Sir
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

Thanks Duane.

I'll keep on with this. In fact, my next video will be a sort of follow up on this style of tong with some subtle changes. Thanks.
Using that gear rack I mentioned haha good job
Not quite a gear rack but I still have that in my mind. Thanks Wesley.
Do you have any of these tongs for sale?
Hi, If you would like a pair of these tongs, I'd be happy to make them for you. Email me if interested. Thanks. Glen

But of course you'll continue tweaking them, the world would stop in its orbit if you didn't! And yes, some of us want more unusual tongs . . . .

Wooly G's Heaten & Beaten. Making something from nothing.
Ha! Very funny. I like the nickname Wooly G. And Heatin' and Beatin' would make a good T-shirt!
I like them!
Thanks Rob for all your support. The blacksmith birds appreciate it!
"Catch you guys next tong"
Ha! Very clever. I might just have to use that. Thanks.
Nice job
HF of the Hong Kong Tong
Yeah, i know it should be the Tai Pai, Twain tong. Rock on Glen tongs!
Ha! Thanks Mark.
For sure the Taipei reference better suits my situation. Cheers from "The Tong Dynasty".
👌😋👍
Thanks.
Now if you just pot one more "v" in at 90 degrees to the first "v" you will have Flat "v" jaw Wolf tongs (FVW) good job.......Be well and be safe👍⚒🦅👨💎
