If anyone's curious, the language the guy is speaking is not Dutch but actually Afrikaans (one of the main languages in South Africa). It is similar to Dutch since the Afrikaners are descended from the Dutch settlers in 17th to 18th century.

'With All My Heart'. Wow, this sounds a great song. I believe Amira will surprise us again with a new masterpiece.
Ray Vandenburg Ray I don't know if you can reach someone in authority but if you can they need to know from a world wide marketing point of view the videos promoting this wonderful CD needs to be done in English to attract other than Amira's already stalwart fans.
This is very important, if you look at her you tube videos, for example her HGT videos the English subtitle versions drew 2x as many views. If you read comments on all her videos you'll notice the bulk of the comments are in English, even from the non-English speaking countries.
Its become like the universal marketing language and I think it will make a noticeable difference to the more casual fans or fans who aren't aware of Amira at all so far.
Sorry for being so adamant but marketing was what I spent my career in. The casual uninformed(unaware of who Amira is, which is obviously most of the planet) are liable to skip right by this.
I know they will probably think the English subtitles take care of it. A very silly way to save money. Produce more then one promo if they have to,in the different major languages.This would be ideal.
In direct marketing, you have 7 to 10 seconds to capture the interest of the buyer in what you are selling. Anything that gets in the way, like hearing a foreign language you don't understand and having to read subtitles you will immediately turn off 70% to 90% of the people who watch it. They will just click on to the next thing without even listening to the rest of the message.Not a theory a proven fact. So by promoting it in this fashion the are bypassing 70 to 90% of potentially unaware but possible buyers. Given that only 1 to 3% of potential listeners will buy they can't afford to lose that large amount of potential listeners/buyers.
And they should tell the listeners where and how and when they can purchase it. Amazon, iTunes etc
Ray Vandenburg Once they get the new video in English they should ask all of her most ardent fans to post the new video as often and on as many plat forms as possible with as much hype as possible.

Luigi; you hit the nail on the head. I already noticed that the promo was Afrikaans spoken. I was really flabbergasted, because you don't have to convince the Afrikaners to purchase her CD. I'm afraid, contacting Amira's authorities is a bit too late now, the CD is already released and I don't have the illusion that Coleske will listen to a couple of fans, while they are in the middle of organizing a new Afrikaans/Classics Is Groot and more.
I'm in the process working on a new promo video, that will be in English and Spanish, since we have a lot of admirers in Spanish speaking countries. And your call to post it on all the famous platforms will be heard.
Sabine aus MG Yes I do. The problem is Sabine, is that if they are trying to attract new fans/buyers who aren't familiar with Amira, you only have 7 to 10 seconds to get them to pay attention to your message. Anything that interferes with that process, for example a language you don't understand, they will just ignore it and move on to something else. Understand, I'm not talking about existing fans, I'm talking about the 99.9999 % of the people in the world who don't know about Amira.
Of the people whose attention you do capture, a very small % will be interested in that type of music. Of these maybe 1% , if you are lucky, will consider spending their hard earned money on a CD and of those that consider it, only a small % , maybe 1 to 2% will actually buy it so it's critical that nothing makes that initial 7 to 10 second time frame any more confusing or demanding for that person your trying to interest in buying your product.
That's why Amira, who probably had 50 or 100 million UA-cam views when her first CD came out only sold 50 or 60 thousand CDs. And that was after all the free publicity and public awareness from the show. Outside of her existing fans, that is the kind of return you will get even if you do it correctly. Think about it, with all that publicity, 50 million people who expressed interest by watching her performances on HGT yielded 50,000 sales. Now think about trying to generate sales without all that publicity from HGT. See the problem.
As her biggest fans we all eagerly await her next album or UA-cam concert performance. But not even all of her fans will buy this album, for a variety of reasons and we are the group most motivated to buy.
Let me give you another statistic. Of the people who bought her first album and liked it you would only expect between 30 to 50 % to buy her next album, as long as it was a similar genre of music. Of the group that bought both albums, 60 to 80% will buy a third album. Again, as long as there is no major departure from the style and type of music in the first 2 CDs, which there is by the way which will lower that 3rd time response rate.
You start to see why, without all the hype from the tv show backing you up, its a very tough business and it's critical to cross every t and dot every I . That's why even all the biggest stars have to tour. Not just because they make money on the tour. Its because the tour is also the best publicity to help sell CDs AND to build your fan base into that third tier of buyer to generate those high level of repeat sales.
That's one of the reasons Sony had little interest in promoting (advertising) Amira's CDs. She couldn't tour, or at least appear on all the daytime/nighttime tv shows to promote herself and her music.
Look at Jackie Evancho. She actually toured the world with all kinds of hype and is still struggling to keep and build a fan base.
Its amazing Amira has continued her momentum as well as she had with all the restrictions that were placed on her by law.
Finally, I would estimate that a large % of Amira's rabid fans are old Coors like us. Unfortunately, while people in our age brackets tend to make very loyal fans more willing than most groups to spend our disposable income on Amiras CDs we are a diminishing cohort of buyers.
The young and the old fans are the most consistent fans and buyers, but the young, obviously will be around the longest and are spending mom and dad's money so they are more casual about doing so. The 18 to 34 cohort are the ideal market group but also tend to have more fixed ideas on the type of music they like, self selected so to speak, but are willing to try something new if you can catch their attention and get them to listen.
Sorry, I could go on for days, but when you add in all the free music and performances, UA-cam, spotify, etc and then consider the pirate music sites where you can steal what you want, as our friend that notacoolone character recently bragged about doing.
Like I said, a very tough business and you can't afford to make silly mistakes like putting out a promotional video in Afrikaans and thinking English subtitles will work.
Remember that 7 to 10 second rule, well it's not until about 11 seconds that you hear a song in English.

Ek wil net vir Ray Vandenburg sê dat ek die CD bestel het by Musica in Port Elizabeth Suid Afrika op Donderdag 8 Maart 2018 en die volgende dag op Vrydag 9 Maart het hulle my geskakel en gesê dat hulle dit gekry het. Ek het natuurlik die advertensie op UA-cam gesien en vinnig gespeel en dit gekry.
Buiten "With all my Heart" is al die liedere mooi en van hoogstaande gehalte. Snit 3 "Follow your Heart ft. Ruhan du Toit is baie mooi en my gunsteling. Snit 6 "Zoals Vrienden Doen", snit 9 "Plaisir D'Amour", snit 11"How great thou art" en snit 12"Onse Vader" en snit 19 "Amazing Grace" is amal pragtig. Ek wil eintlik nie snitte opnoem nie want die hele CD is pragtig en Amira het ons harte gesteel. Ray jy kan hierdie gebruik as resensie by Takealot as jy so voel. Dankie vir hierdie wonderlike CD wat 'n gawe van bo is. Hoop ons sien nog vorentoe sulke pragtige musiek.

Gerald; Much like "In The Stars" (from the recent Ice Skating videos), this song seems to have all the hallmarks of having been written just for Amira, perfectly featuring her wonderful range and beautiful melodic style. I certainly get chills and goosebumps even just listening to this short clip.... what a remarkable voice. :-) :-)

Gunnar N. There must be some reason she choose singing Gabriella song in Swedish. On an international/SA CD English should be the natural choice of language.

ThatFellaChris; On the contrary. Most songs have a great energetic sound with a good rhythm underscore. Most tracks are uplifting and not soft or gummy at all. My advice is to listen to the album a couple of times, and I'm sure you will get hooked on it.
What actually happened to "Una voce poco fa"? I remember that documentation of a local dutch tv station, in which Amira named this impressively beautiful Rossini-Aria one of her next ambituous projects. She even went to see an opera singer for lessons. But it's not on her new album. Hm, maybe she finally learned that it takes more than youtube and a beautiful voice to sing opera. This new album has nothing to do anymore with opera. It's average pop that neither hurts nor thrills. Accompanied by the obligatory Amira -"Classics" of the good old HGT-times. I would not pay for that for sure.

As it looks now Amira is closer to an operatic musical singer. Confident she also can learn how to sing pop/rock with attitude. Haven't heard her sing any new serious opera material. Still talks about it bot no workshop though.
