Anitta is singing in spanish because she wants to get famous in all of latin america. Brazilian music market is very different from latin one, rarelly a spanish music get famous here but shakira's musics, but Anitta is openning these walls, first with maluma, then alone (paradinha) and now with J balvin, they both are getting very famous here.

It's not very common, because Brazil doesn't communicate very much with the Spanish market. A few do collaborations singing in Portuguese and reraly in Spanish, but at the scale that Anitta is doing, that's just her :)

Brazil not only communicates with the South American market, but is the head of Mercosul, recheck your facts... Almost all Brazilian singers have songs in Spanish, Anitta is doing nothing new, just getting more attention than the others. These anitta fans are all alienated and misinformed.
Layla Leite many brazilian singers have sung in spanish, alexandre pires, xuxa, anitta, michel telo, and many others. actually very few latin artists have sung in portuguese because its a small market compared to the spanish one which involves 20 markets, that's why many artists from other nationalities like italy, US, france, germany, etc have sung in spanish

Here in Brazil our official language is Portuguese. J Balvin is from Colombia who speaks Spanish. However, Anitta is one of the few Brazilian singers who sings Spanish. The goal is to dominate all of Latin America, just as it did in Brazil. And, later, dominate the world. She is very intelligent and is being totally cautious, taking one step at a time. This song basically talks about oral sex, but in a "hidden" way haha and how she likes to dominate. It's very sexy, to me, it was her best video. I definitely loved it!

Its actually rare for Brazilians to sing in any language other than Portuguese, when it happens, tends to be in English. Anitta is one of the few who actually has some Latin collabs, I know that Ivete Sangalo has one in Spanish but Idk the song... only ones I can think of really

Portuguese is the 4th most spoken language in the world but 90% of portuguese population lives in Brazil so anitta is singying in spanish for getting more audiance and being famous in latin spanish countries. But no singer sing in spanish in Brazil but anitta. She sang in portuguese and spanish together in one Song with maluma called Sim ou Nao

Hi Dylan, no Brazilians singers don't sing in Spanish and not a lot of people in Brazil speak Spanish too. Even though we are surrounded by Spanish speaker countries there are little culture exchanges between them and us. That's Anitta's mission to make it happen. For example, Maluma the Colombian singer that was in her first videos has been traveling and performing in Brazil since he appeared in one of her videos.

The Spanish music market is bigger than the Portuguese market (more people speak Spanish than English) so many Portuguese speaking artists will record songs in Spanish. Most Portuguese speakers can understand Spanish anyways, the languages are similar. And yes there are songs that will have both spanish and portuguese parts in the same song. Like Sim ou Nao!
