He bought me a DC fishing rod because he wants us to play Sega Bass Fishing like we used to do back in the day! So I plug everything in, power the DC on, and no display... so it was a no-go on that front. I'll try to buy another cable for the console, and if it doesn't work, I'll have to get a new console! The 2 consoles that I want to get games for from my earlier days are, unfortunately, the pricey ones: Saturn and PS1. I already have about 40 PS1 games and about 20 more on the wishlist. For the Saturn, I have 7 games, lol! The one that's at the top of the list is Dragon Force. And keep in mind that I could burn them if I wanted to as I have both consoles modded, but I like physical media, lol! There's no rush, and if I can't get them, then oh well, I'll survive! Since you've asked what we want to see, I'll be my annoying self like always and say that I can't wait for the next OG Xbox exclusive video, lol! Hope that you'll get better soon! Nice i have the rod and all 4 fishing games. I wish we still got stuff like that on current consoles. I would think it would be a cable before the console being replaced. Sega built good hardware. I've rarely heard of broken sega stuff. Yea at one point i had most of the heavy hitters for sega saturn but after not being able to afford the good ones. I just said fuck it and sold off what i had and got a modded system. Ps1 is the one console i never really was around as a kid i knew literally no one that had one and i was born in 89 so i was the prime age to play that but really never did till i bought mine when i was like 19 or 20. So i think i may go down the modded route with that system also. Ps2 on the other had i did have as a kid but those are some of the most expensive games you can buy. As unluckily for me i got super into rpg game recently and those are so goddamn expensive. Yea next week i hope to have some kinda of xbox or 360 episode.

HI mark! I just burned all the good saturn games one weekend. it took sOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long but worth it as now i have them for free. I do have a GDEMU which i just recently started to download the full set. Which is sorta hard to find in just one simple file so i've had to piece meal it. I love collecting but everdrives are just where its at i have some many games i can play now.
Love everdrives. OG Xbox is fun to collect for and one of my fav systems overall. Large library with a diverse styles of games, and best thing most are inexpensive. Nice pickups.
Red Dog was my favorite from when I first got the Dreamcast. Didn't have a lot of options because I was 16 and had no money but put a lot of hours into it. It does have racing elements(need to beat "skills" tests to get upgrades) but it is mostly a tank action game where you are fighting aliens that have invaded Earth. Has some Panzer Dragoon elements where you can power up your weapon and lock on(even some on-rail levels).
I should have waited a second and saw you got Armada. That one is pretty fun if a little repetitive. Got your ship and you fly around the galaxy fighting enemy ships and landing on planets you find. Lots of "run here and do this mission" type play.
I tried to buy Cannon Spike off of a dude at a convention last summer, offered him $200 and he's like "Bro you'd make $100 off of me". C'mon I'm just trying to get a deal, I'm not trying to make money. I don't think he sold it either, he was going around to all the vendors trying to get them to spend money on his box of rare games, but he wouldn't cut me a deal and make a couple hundred bucks. They always want every penny when it comes to this stuff. But TBH, I'm kinda semi-done collecting retro. Not bought anything in months and feeling pretty good about it. Now I collect music CDs, lol.
I have played cannon spike i have a burnt copy of it. WONDERFUL game but idk if i would really wanna spend close to 300$ on it. I think people think these games are worth too much at this point. What i was getting at in the video was that people my self included often buy the game and just let it sit and then people who actually want it to play can do that because its now "rare"
I felt your rant. Got rid of all my N64 stuff and just emulate that console now along with some of the more expensive GameCube games. I just can't bring myself to pay $150+ on a game anymore
We are similar but different lol. I have held onto the NES, SNES, Genesis games from my youth. I, of course, have been adding to those as I got older. During the launch of PS4 I did a big push to get most of the ones I had missing that I always wanted. I didnt care much for many of the games during those years, so that was another motivator. I did sell my N64 collection to go hard with Turbografx and PC Engine since that had been "the one that got away" consoles from my childhood. My white whale so to speak. Cart consoles are my jam. CD based ones Ive replaced with optical drives to play off SD card. Dont trust CD's or disc drives lol. I do have a N64 flash cart (off brand of what you got) and its awesome. Dreamcast, Saturn, and PS2 all play from SD card or harddrive. Still get to use real hardware without the disc drive fuss. Great topic sir and nice additions.

@DatGameCollector I only wanted to keep what I "really" wanted and what I grew up with. The Saturn and PS2 I barely owned anything anyway. So, getting rid of those few games was easy. The N64, though I played it hardcore back in the day, it was the first time I felt let down from what selection of games that were available. I knew I wanted the Turbo/PCE since I accidentally stumbled upon it when I was young and took a few years before I knew what it was called. Then I missed another opportunity when I was 16 years old due to not having money. So I have no regrets selling the N64 stuff while I still have access to the 30 or so games that are, imo, must own. Hopefully, after some time, you might feel like you made the right decision. Whenever you finally pull the trigger on a Turbo, I recommend getting the PC Engine for cost saving on hardware and games.
I feel you're rant very much and i would do the same in todays current market. But i have already spent the cash on the games you have mentioned. As for your PS2 Collecting all the best with this journey. I'm at the end of my Ps2 Collecting i started Back in 2021 and definitely got lucky on getting some rare games like Nighshade for the PS2
Im not going for anything to crazy just the shmups rpgs beat em up game and exclusives. Anything that came out on og xbox plays better there and is cheaper.
I feel you man, I was somewhat lucky to start collecting snes games when prices were a bit less crazy. I mainly got my favorite games and the ones I had the most nostalgia for, which TBH were not that many. For the rest of them I have the everdrives, although I also think krikzz's stuff is kinda overpriced. I only have the ones that I couldn't get another option for. The one for GBA was a must, since any other drains your battery way too fast, Also the one for NES/Famicom. N64 you can get a cheap ass cart for like 60 ED64. On the one for super nintendo I have a weird experience, I had a sd2snes knockoff which worked great. but I really wanted to have the "legit" one FXpack pro, I saved up and I got It. It was almost the exact same thing as my sd2snes but worse, since It didn't work on my supaboy, the other one did without issues. I don't understand how a knockoff worked better than the "real" thing, I ended up sending it back.
So i started collecting in 2002 but would also just buy all the current crap too. In retrospective i should have just been buy the old crap but no one knew this would happen. I still think it will go down some day. Gen z kids dont really care about anything but cell phones and stupid ass fortnight and warzone.
There is simply no reason for ME to spend insane $ and use up my limited space for any game on a retro system for which a flash cart is available. It’s just so simple in my mind. Good purchase!
Major props to you with these great pickups DGC! I had no idea about those Everdrive carts and missed out on the sale. They seem like a great way to own the entire library for N64, NES, and SNES. I'll look into getting them because there's no way I'm paying hundred to thousands of dollars for games like Earthbound and Little Sampsom. I have some NES roms on PC, but it doesn't hit the same way as being able to play these games on original hardware. Do you recommend that I buy them sooner or wait for another sale? What's your go to rom sites for the N64, NES, and SNES?
Yea its krikzz he is in the ukraine and they take about a month to show up. I've only ever seen the sale each christmas starting black friday. Its like 30 to 40 $ off each one. So thats up to you if you think its worth waiting basically a whole nother year to get them. I do plan on using mine a ton. I got my roms like 8 years ago from a friend when i sent me my modded gamecube. Its not too hard to find them just have virus protection on on your pc when looking. For me i would sale i wouldnt wait a year for a sale. I only did because i knew it was coming as i've waited like 5 years to finally buy them.

Ive been a gamer like 30+ years now, so I wanted to get my 36 yr-old sister into the hobby in Christmas 2023. I couldn’t afford a Switch and accessories (for another person) at the time, but I could get a quality, functioning Nintendo DS. It turns out she loved it and plays it every day. But even used GBA and DS games can be outlandish in price… so I buy reproductions. And I feel zero guilt about it. Because I’m buying her games all the time and mailing them across the country, if I went the legit authentic retro route, how much would games like Zelda: The Minish Cap, DKC 1-3 GBA, Mario & Luigi, WarioWare, Chrono Trigger DS, and Final Fantasy 1-6, cost? Hundreds and hundreds of dollars? The repro places I know of charge about $20 apiece. And they work exactly like the originals, except they’re newer. Problem solved.
Yea it's not bad option. Like I said I'm just at the point of wanting to play the games. Collecting is fun and all but I'm a gamer first. That's cool you got your sister a nice present and into gaming.
Just a comment based on previous videos. Why are you acting like ps5 pro has all theses enhancements? You paid hundreds extra for 1 fps if you are lucky and thata is only on certain games. There is 0 difference most of the time. The graphics are no better. Ive seen the technical review videos. It is not in anyway better than the regular ps5. A giant waste of money. And the regular ps5 has ray tracing too. Its only an upgrade in your head man
@DatGameCollector it's not think it's imperical data dude. Look at the channels that test those things. It g it gets like 31fps on a game that gets 30 on stock ps5. All the tests show it is not an improvement by any significant amount in any test. That aint my opinion that's fact. Yours is opinion

Its honestly the best system to collect for its such a diverse library and still SOOOO cheap and just fun to find new titles.

it is nice to have flashcards for nintendo hardware i only care and buy disc based games ps2,3,4,5 etc cheaper too
