I've seen hundreds of reaction videos to Pink Floyd, all different people, some more genuine than others, still I noticed that David Gilmour's guitar never fails to connect with people hearts.
David Gilmore tells amazing stories on guitar like nobody else, he just finds the notes that draw you in and it's art. Pink Floyd has so many layers in their music and lyrics, so many masterpieces they made.
A very personal song from Richard Wright. He suffered from depression and had a drug addiction between the late 70s and mid 80s. It became so bad that he didn't contribute much to the band any more, and Roger Waters fired him during the recording of The Wall. David Gilmour reinstated him after Roger left and helped him recover. David and Richard were great friends and kept working together until Richard's death. Other songs from Richard are Stay, Summer '68, Paint Box, and Breakthrough (there's a wonderful live version with David).
@@tedregal4726 No, it was during The Wall. He was rehired as a session musician for the Wall tour. Ironically, the tour made a loss, but he earned money because as a session player he had to be payed, unlike the rest of the band.
This songs brings lots of good memories. David Gimour was a good good friend to Richard Wright and Syd Barrett in many ways. I respect Roger Waters for what he's done in Pink Floyd in lyrics but when it comes to show friendship, for what i know, I believe he fails and that makes me sad. David Gilmour was a true friend to Wright and Barrett in the most tough moments. Respect to Mr Gilmour
I like all that stuff you guys talked about before the reaction, it’s really cool to know more about the two of you. I like this song, this is a great reaction to it. I’m glad to see you do this one because I made a comment in one of the videos from your Pink Floyd Animals reaction marathon about some of the contributions the other members besides David Gilmour and Roger Waters have made to the band. I mentioned this song when talking about Richard Wright, who played keyboard/piano and did occasional vocals. He was the one who wrote this song and did lead vocals on it.
Trinitarian yeah I talked about it in the comment this one followed up from another video. You probably already know this because it’s pretty commonly known by Pink Floyd fans but Us And Them grew out of Richard’s unfinished piano piece “The Violent Sequence” which they initially did for the Zabriskie Point movie
I think Nick Mason had a set of bongo drums and that's what you were hearing or he was using his hands on his drums? Rick Wright was such an enormous part of Pink Floyd and so often gets overlooked he was the only one of all of them that was actually musically trained. Rick put out a 2 solo albums the song holiday is my favorite such beautiful piano playing rip Rick Wright
What a brilliant review. Nice wee song, way down the list of their best but good wee song none the less Keep up your good work, especially Pink Floyd, David Gilmour or Roger Waters 👍👍👍👍

The late Richard Wright (keyboards) doing lead vocals on this one. RIP great song!!

Pulsar77 I thought Roger fired him during the Final cut sessions.

Pulsar77 right, but he finished all the tracks on the wall.
Love Paintbox! And this track.
It was his wife that suffered from clinical depression. He has talked about it in several interwievs
Kirti understands Pink Floyd.
