"E8 inverted torx" is a weird way to say "7mm crammed on tight enough". Ordered a set of inverted torx so I stop making future issues for myself, I guess. I picked up the correct special service tool but it seems to bind while unwinding and doesn't stay centered in the port. I have to kinda finagle it around to recenter, with it sometimes spinning a little further clockwise again.
The better thing to replace with aftermarket in your air filter box, is stock everything, except a K&M washable filter....which you can't even see.... 😀
So even tho the actuator swap produced the same codes and same response from the vehicle (no reverse) you are convinced this is not a TCM issue because the codes that were thrown indicate mechanical failure? Please post another video after the transmission work to confirm whether or not the slave cylinder was the issue. Thanks for the content!
hello after you replace the B clutch do you have to reprogram the TCM? And if the B clutch is bad in the beginning, will it not let you reprogram the TCM if you’re putting in a new one?
You don't have to program the tcm for a clutch and fork job, just an adaptive learn. If the B clutch fork is seized, yes it can cause a failure on the adaptive learn
2016 ford focus new clutch and forks will not pass touch point calibration on shaft b makes clicking sounds and pull downs the motor you think bad tcm or internal damage in transmission
@BrianThomas-n3g you can record the noise and post it on my Facebook or discord group. Also you can try a manual adaptive learn, I've I've a video for that
So it is TCM? My wife's car did this today. But would go forward. Make it home then could back up. But still trouble with the RPM with the jerking. I have a focus same thing, but I can go in reverse. Turns out it was the TCM just double check in here . And remember they extend the warranty on the TCM to 2025 one time fix. Any feedback would be greatly appreciate it.
............Awesome! 👍I needed my windsheild replaced. I have full glass coverage on my insurance, so I got Safelite to come to my house, and replace it. Last week they came with the non-GPS windshield, instead of the correct one, so re-scheduled me for yesterday. Both times, they sent a single tech, instead of two. He broke a few fasteners in both r/l windshield side trims, left crud everywhere under the side trims, and put the windshield on, nearly 3/4" off center. Needless to say, today I'm driving to a Safelite shop, down the street. @@BigBensCarsAndCycles
Just got back from my local Safelite. They are coming back out for a warranty repair, and they are also replacing both side trims. That's another $130 I don't have to spend! Glad I went into our local shop, and showed them all that wasn't correct, or was broken. I wasn't looking forward to buying those trim pieces... 😀@@BigBensCarsAndCycles
Follow-Up video posted! Link is in the description

Thank you so much for making this video. Mine so far is exactly the same problem. Will try switching actuators next.
my 2013 focus It hesitates and gears, and when I put it in reverse. Essay's carton not on parking well.Doing that procedure help it out
Just did clutch replacement, it will go in drive but not reverse any ideas
Turn clutch B by hand, if it's OK, do the adaptive learn again. Both touch points should be roughly 10 to 13 mm

Absolutely! I've got something like that on mine. Rousch I believe
I noticed that. 👍@@BigBensCarsAndCycles

Yes that's what I think. I will do a follow up video. I have approval to remove the transmission
The follow-up is uploaded. Link in the description
Do you replace both actuators when one is bad because the other one will most likely fail soon?
Yes, I do. Thanks for watching!

Ya, that’s what I figured. I’m almost tempted just to buy it online and do it myself. Dealer wants 3200
Thank you for your reply. Much appreciate it.

Slave cylinder came apart. See the follow up If you like
I feel a little bad.....All this awesome education I'm getting, depends on other peoples problems... 😉
Yeah :(! I'll have a teardown video on this today

On my 2012 i changed the actuators and it worked fine afterwards but now i bought a 2015 it starts up but will not go into any gear any ideas
Did you try the simple transmission reset combo? I have heard it occasionally fixes that. @@tedfoorjr5867
Any ideas
Wow so if the forks barons are damaged your screwed out a couple thousands in repairs 😢
Unfortunately. Unless you rebuild it yourself. I've got a video for clutch and fork replacement. And Trans removal
I did this in 2012 and it worked now i got a 2015 and it wont go in any gear
I got the same problem. Ford Focus sucks
"A" is "alpha," not "apple."
Thank you 😃
