I'm legitimately impressed by the depth and intricacy of this analysis. Fucking outstanding work, bro(s). People love to talk shit about Derrick Rose because his injuries. They say he's too "weak". I always thought it was the exact opposite. He was too powerful for his body's limits. Dude generated insane force in all directions. On all of his joints and muscle groups. Upper and lower body. All of the time. Honestly, I think that's what hurt him most. Dude put forth 150% of his physical potential 100% of the time. No fanboy, but he'll always be one of my favorite players, regardless of how his career turns out (which I hope will be very, very well).
Beautiful comment.. Felt this way in 2010 when he kept pushing himself to the max.. Too much explosion using hard plants. Now that he is recovering from his injury.. He is learning how to switch speeds. Bo Jackson comes to mind with Rose. Bo destroyed his hip because he was too powerful to just "Go Down" with the tackle instead of fighting for extra yards.
+EveryDayIsAGoodDay atleast he showed us what he's capable of and you don't wanna talk shit to Rose cause he still becomes vintige atleast he sacrificed everything for Chicago I've never seen a player so athletic in my entire life he's still my favorite player and can't wait till he takes his legacy to ny bulls are gonna regret trading him Rose said "I'ma go all in" #mvprose 🔥🔥💯💯🌹🌹
He had better handles and better moves and a better first step. I would say he was quicker (changing directions fast) but not faster (running in a straight line fast) I think Russ is clearly slightly stronger and can jump a little bit higher. But both of these dudes are just freak athletes. But as a basketball player I would say rose was a little bit better mostly just because I think he played a little bit smarter than Westbrook.
Westbrook is faster (Top speed not quicker) and can jump higher but, D rose is way to damn quick. Strength is westbrook but, acrobatic skills goes to D rose.
+Leroy Roberts Same Speed.. But Rose acceleration is faster. Rose is shorter to the ground.. So naturally he would be quicker off the first step. Westbrook just has smoother mechanics and a bit more graceful.
LIL KERMIT And it was Monta Ellis who outplayed Rose in every game they played. No exaggerating. Guarding and scoring. I paid very close attention to the matchup
I'm amlmot like Derick Rose type, I am very strong and körperlich! I got huge jumping ability my Crossover especially in full run is devastating and I can jump and leap into people just banging them out of the way
Seriously, this is my favorite video on UA-cam right now. I've been a crazy D Rose fan since his memphis days and this is the most accurate depiction of his playstyle before and after the injuries I've ever seen . Good shit right here
I'm sorry but he is the most Athletic point guard in History. Give him the edge over Westbrook because of his side to side quickness and athleticism. Westbrook is all North south which is great 80-90% of the time but sometimes you have to move sideways to get around people.
Can't wait to see what he'll do next season he was balling out after new years and it was amazing too watch now that he doesn't have a mask on and nagging injury he's fresh and I can't wait.
His style of play is what in my opinion took a toll on his knees. You have to pace yourself something Rose rarely does. The moment he gets the ball in his hands it's full throttle and your body will only take so much of that before it begins to fail.
Really good videos! I don't know if you're a MJ fan, but it would be great to see an anylisis about him scoring. Same style as you did with Anthony. But Jordan had different styles during his career. I think that it could be divide in early career (1984-90), where he was all explosivennes, then the first three peat (91-93), maybe his "prime", combining more positional game with his physical tools, hops and strenght, and then 96-98, when he played with so much more pause and control, studying much more his posibilities againts the defenders. Maybe is also interesting his Wizards season, without any physical advantage over rivals. Sorry for the long comment and thank you for this vids!
As advertised... genuinely good analysis. Which is rare on UA-cam. GJ. Rose was generational athletic. But along with Grant Hill generational unlucky. Anyone who can watch JUST that first dunk and not get the insanity that was D Rose is blind. Rose is barely 6'3" and he is the only player since Michael who has the same speed/strength gifts MJ had. The way he explodes, jumps, hangs, and dunks. Jordan and Rose both had an utterly absurd total speed package. Hands feet everything. That is rare. Most highly athletic players, even Russ, have a package. And that package includes good to great top speed, a fast first step, an explosive vert, etc. But they don't have all of them at top tier levels. Russ is only generational top notch in is his stamina and he has pretty special power speed combo which is rare. Rose is Russ with upgrades in EVERYTHING except maybe his motor. Rose had ALL of it at the highest possible levels. And he was a LOT stronger, and a step faster. On top of all that he was acrobatic and had perfect body control. What bothers me about Rose is how illogically the media treats him. It's not just him but anyone who is unlucky and gets a sting of injuries they act like it's somehow something they did wrong. Injuries happen. Only way you can control for them a little is with good diet, stretching, etc. But that doesn't help you if you land on someones foot after you jump 55 inches in the air. The more explosive ppl are the more likely they are to get banged up in the post. Bo Jackson is a great example. He was so damn fast he literally tore his hip out of joint with his own power - when he wasn't running up a walls like spider man ofc. Even Steph when he gets injured the narrative is always the same. Ppl talk as if its a deficiency in the player. Steph literally slipped on water and got hurt last year and ppl still said stupid stuff like, Steph is injury prone. Luck is Luck. Accept it and move on. Half of these players like Chris Paul, they get their psychology literally ruined by dipshits in the media who constantly parrot each other and make the players feel like its somehow their fault something unlucky happened. If they would just shut the ** up, or heaven forbid the media be SUPPORTIVE of people, these players would recover better and the NBA woudl be better for it. Getting asked over and over and over and over about your injury is the exact opposite of what people who have serious injuries need to move on. In fact, it's psychology 101 that obsessing over the same bad thing leads to bad stuff like PTSD and serious existential crisis. But Derrick has gotten it the worst of all. He was made into a pariah and a scapegoat. And used by the media for their sensationalist, negativity based ratings cash grabs. It's like what Tibs said when they picked him up this year, "he just averaged 17 a year ago on the knicks"...... Then he looked at all the reporters like - 'what more can be said. Facts retards, facts." It's tragic bc after 4 years of fighting to get over the injuries, by the time he did everyone wrote him off so much they completely missed the fact that he still had plenty of his old self left. And if he had been given more minutes, better teams, better coaches he would have proven it sooner... JUST LIKE HE DID THIS YEAR in Minnesota in playoffs where most of the games he was the leading scorer on a team with multiple all stars. But he got put on garbage teams, and ignored for years. ANd so he lost 7 years of his career to bad luck and bad people. But watching his highlights its inspiring. But not as inspiring as the emotional strength he has demonstrated all this time dealing with the idiots like Collin Cowheard.
Honestly this is one of the most detailed and helpful basketball channels out there man honestly and I'm subscribed to a few the only thing that's missing is more how to videos they are so far and few between just had to sub on seeing a video yesterday great channel just love it.
This is the first video I have ever watched from you and I rarely comment, however, your clairvoyance is incredible. I am subbing to this channel and will be back for more. :)
BAM going brazy with the attention to detail breakdowns. High quality content & in depth explanations with reference material. This channel going places. With that being said, Could you do an Attention to Detail: Michael Jordan to commemorate 10K? Seeing the goat being analyzed by you would be a great way to celebrate a great channel
One of the best bball channels on youtube. Please do a video on the over the top crossover used by nba guards. You touched on it in your chris paul's video. This move is really underrated among all crossover moves.
When I started paying attention to D Rose years ago long before the injuries to the knees I always said he is an amazing athlete BUT relies WAY TO MUCH on his lower body. Some players rely more on upper body like Melo or KD some more on both like LeBron or harden but Rose does or did almost rely totally on his lower body "legs" and I think that was his downfall. It allowed him to have that insane speed but took its toll. Even his shot is an exact product of using or relying solely on his legs. He has to jump to the point of reaching almost the highest point of his jumper before releasing the shot. Same with his floater and layups. Still love the old none injured Rose.. Great vid.
This guy was unstoppable. I mean, he could do tricks and stunts in mid-air is remarkable, he kinda reminded me of MJ when attacking the basket with defenders in front of him. Unfortunately, it all ended because of his injury.
i forget if it was y'all that posted it or if it was another hoop account, but does anyone remember a breakdown compilation vid of drose's awkward landings & how it may have led to his injuries or am i trippin'?
I like your channel I like d Rose my fav player and you have nice beats and d rose in my opinion is a legend 🔥💯🌹🌹 your channel will grow you will be big someday #mvprosethelegend🔥💯🌹🌹
I love these videos. Keep it up. Can you do an Attention to Detail of Kawhi Leonard? He seems very fundamentally sound to me and I want to know what you think about him. Can you include his bad habits so we can look for his improvement?
part of the reason why his knees are the way they are. when he was a rookie I told my friend that he will either have a serious ankle injury or knee. the way he changes directions, wow.
Once I saw rose's jumper and how hard of a hit it gives on his legs, I'm just wondering why the trainers/Coaches didn't take that to consider, But the NBA of 2010/11 is so different surprisingly to the one now. I'm pretty sure if anybody but Rose had this jumpsuit right now, the coach/trainer would force a change. Just too hard on your legs.
Is there any way you can make a video on how to run a offense with players that don't move around? Cause that's my main problem is everyone always just wants iso and stands at the three point line.
I mention Melo and got a vid. I remembered someone asking for Rose MVP, You replied that a before & After would be Great, you did a Rose Vid.... An PG13 and Kawhi vid would be awesome, then maybe PG13 vs Kawhi.... But Damn, An Allen Iverson or Tracy Vid would be a Nail in the Coffin!
6:13 i think he tries to do this as little as possible.. Transferring planes at high speed put a tremendous pressure on knees, regardless injured or not.
Rose was and still is faster, a better passer, a better shooter, a better dribbler, and better at layups. You gotta remember too, Rose was always the main focal point of opposing defense and he also had to carry the offensive load. Westbrook has always had a better team. Westbrook is a beast tho. Rose has been understandably timid where Westbrook is just as fierce as Rose used to be. Rose will shine in NY tho.
Kyrie or Derrick rose which one is a better finisher around the rim? Both can finish with both hands and with either off leg with either hands. So who is a better finisher?
You know what's weird? By watching this vid, I see that I play like D. Rose (except hangtime) because yet watching him 4 years has turned me into a D. Rose CLONE!
I'm legitimately impressed by the depth and intricacy of this analysis. Fucking outstanding work, bro(s).

best coment sir
+david doe he didn't leave the Bulls he was traded
Beautiful comment.. Felt this way in 2010 when he kept pushing himself to the max.. Too much explosion using hard plants. Now that he is recovering from his injury.. Too athletic for a human body. Maybe he needed to take care of his body way more than a normal person which he didn't do
Who Thinks Derrick Rose In His MVP Season Was More Athletic And Faster Than Russell Westbrook In 2016?
He had better handles and better moves and a better first step. I would say he was quicker (changing directions fast) but not faster (running in a straight line fast) I think Russ is clearly slightly stronger and can jump a little bit higher. But both of these dudes are just freak athletes. But as a basketball player I would say rose was a little bit better mostly just because I think he played a little bit smarter than Westbrook.

+Leroy Roberts Same Speed.. But Rose acceleration is faster. Rose is shorter to the ground.. So naturally he would be quicker off the first step. Westbrook just has smoother mechanics and a bit more graceful.
+SDS Overfiend I can give rose acceleration but top end speed I would give to westbrook, at least that's what my eyes tell me
Leroy Roberts Hmmm.. Bigger strides... More spaces covered.. That's what I would make of it. It's weird though..
Drose was the most athletic basketball player I've ever seen in my life and also good video man !
💯💯💯
I think he's a legend 🔥💯🌹🌹
Shit he used to do was something I never seen
LIL KERMIT it depends on how athleticism is defined...
LIL KERMIT And it was Monta Ellis who outplayed Rose in every game they played. No exaggerating. Guarding and scoring. I paid very close attention to the matchup
Rose is still the best point guard I've ever seen. Favorite ever
So many memories. I'm in tears. Chi town down.
I'm amlmot like Derick Rose type, I am very strong and körperlich!
I got huge jumping ability my Crossover especially in full run is devastating
and I can jump and leap into people just banging them out of the way
always has, and always will be, my favorite player in the league. hopefully he does well on the knicks, want nothing more than to see this man shine
I really think Rose is the fastest guard ever.. he's like a bullet train!
Oh yah he is for sure
Seriously, this is my favorite video on UA-cam right now. I've been a crazy D Rose fan since his memphis days and this is the most accurate depiction of his playstyle before and after the injuries I've ever seen . Good shit right here
agreed, this was a very well made video, and D rose will always be the best in my heart :') btw best profile picture ever lol
I have watched this for more than 15 times and my skills have improved and for some reason I started to be able to jump higher than I usually do
TOO BIG TOO STRONG TOO FAST TOO GOOD!
THE WINDY CITY ASSASSIN DOES IT AGAIN!!
Man the memories...
A rose that never bloomed
DRMOO It did bloom... then it wilted shorty thereafter.
His story saved many athletes
I'm sorry but he is the most Athletic point guard in History. Give him the edge over Westbrook because of his side to side quickness and athleticism. Westbrook is all North south which is great 80-90% of the time but sometimes you have to move sideways to get around people.
Once again a very High IQ breakdown. Nice to see videos of this quality being created by a fellow high school student.
B.S. HE'S NOT IN HIGH SCHOOL
Appreciate it!

Can't wait to see what he'll do next season he was balling out after new years and it was amazing too watch now that he doesn't have a mask on and nagging injury he's fresh and I can't wait.
I been liking all these videos. Ever since I typed in Steve Nash your video came up and I watch all of them. Good job
Attention to detail: Kobe Bryant
Great video bro! it's about time someone notice the details in Derrick rose speed and foot work.
His style of play is what in my opinion took a toll on his knees. You have to pace yourself something Rose rarely does. The moment he gets the ball in his hands it's full throttle and your body will only take so much of that before it begins to fail.

this is easily one of the best basketball channels on UA-cam they need way more recognization. Awesome videos
Bro Its amazing how you are able to put up these quality videos so frequently. Keep up the good work
I've been looking for a channel that breaks down moves from nba players withe detail and u went beyond my expectations good job👍👍👍
I still come back to this video.... beat is amazing, analysis is even better. This is my favorite video on youtube.
Amazing analysis. Thank you so much for taking the time to create this video.

Live by the sword, die by the sword. That 'athleticism' took it's toll on his body.
My birthday is today and you've made it a lot more exciting by uploading this video

Arguably lower body is more important than upper tho u need both. Your thoughts? If you’re still alive, I know it’s been half a decade..
This guy was unstoppable. I mean, he could do tricks and stunts in mid-air is remarkable, he kinda reminded me of MJ when attacking the basket with defenders in front of him. Unfortunately, it all ended because of his injury.
I don't know if you take beat suggestions but you should use a big k.r.i.t instrumental. Great content as always.
can you do another derrick rose video with how far he has come close to his MVP form in 2016-2017 season with the Knicks?
i forget if it was y'all that posted it or if it was another hoop account, but does anyone remember a breakdown compilation vid of drose's awkward landings & how it may have led to his injuries or am i trippin'?
Nah probably another channel ngl
Brings a tear to my eye, all the what ifs...
Loved the vid you earned a sub fam
I like your channel I like d Rose my fav player and you have nice beats and d rose in my opinion is a legend 🔥💯🌹🌹 your channel will grow you will be big someday #mvprosethelegend🔥💯🌹🌹
I love these videos. Keep it up.
Can you do an Attention to Detail of Kawhi Leonard? He seems very fundamentally sound to me and I want to know what you think about him. Can you include his bad habits so we can look for his improvement?
Those super athletic moves are the reason he is injured.
He was one of the greatest of all time. And some of these analysis showed how arduous his style of play is #knee injury
part of the reason why his knees are the way they are. when he was a rookie I told my friend that he will either have a serious ankle injury or knee. the way he changes directions, wow.
This channel will be huge one day
Kobe Kobe Kobe !
i really fw this beat heavy 🔥🔥🔥
Go listen to the song, it's called "Hardly" by Future

TheGloReferee He's in the NBA and your not I think that's pretty special.
Jump shot•
Smart man... This was a glaring flaw I seen from his rookie days...
u are the greatest💯🏀🔥
Sick video I enjoyed this!
beat went dumb hard perfect for this vid beast vid too
Is there any way you can make a video on how to run a offense with players that don't move around? Cause that's my main problem is everyone always just wants iso and stands at the three point line.
Do you play recreation? XD
+BrianTheKilla Bro Fr tho lol
+BrianTheKilla Bro I play freshmen and aau but when my team are all Iso players
+Ben Salinas *but
+Ben Salinas oh all you gotta do is command them to move down or get on the block or something. just take control. tell em to screen or something
I mention Melo and got a vid. I remembered someone asking for Rose MVP, You replied that a before & After would be Great, you did a Rose Vid.... An PG13 and Kawhi vid would be awesome, then maybe PG13 vs Kawhi.... But Damn, An Allen Iverson or Tracy Vid would be a Nail in the Coffin!
pls make damian lilard series!!
7:12 had Kyrie in a spin cycle. Always will be my fav player
hell yeah thanks!!
No problem man!
Dude was already GOD-level!!!
that dunk on the knicks at the beginning....man
Wondering about drills, programs, or even more content? Fill out a survey here: www.byanymeansbball.com/training.html . Would help us a lot!
Can u do jimmy butler
6:13 i think he tries to do this as little as possible.. Transferring planes at high speed put a tremendous pressure on knees, regardless injured or not.
i mean i think he still can put this off, but it is wise not to.
Also it would be awesome if you did attention to detail Allen Iverson
attetion to detail: D'angelo russell !! please would be tremendous he really is crafty and talented
Would love to hear you talk about Giannais Ante.
Your channel is so cool
Best Channel
who is more explosive Russel or Derrick in his prime?
I would have to say D Rose, but it's extremely close.
Yeah I was leaning towards Rose especially after watching this. Hopefully Derrick gets back to his good days again
Its Close
rose in his prime was takin flight.plus when he attacks it was always explosive,be his crossover or finish
God damn, I never noticed how unnaturally smooth and coordinated he was for someone going 100 miles an hour
Could you please do Attention to Detail: Kobe Bryant?
There's no detail in his game. All he does is shoot
+Mike M wow you know basketball
Do kyrie, Kobe or Tony Parker pls
Really interesting you know your shit dude ... you earned a sub
Kyrie or Derrick rose which one is a better finisher around the rim? Both can finish with both hands and with either off leg with either hands. So who is a better finisher?
I think derrick rose
Allen Iverson then rose then kyrie then parker
What's a Vintage??? He does reverse layups every game, he can still dunk...what's vintage about his game?
do Paul george plzz I'm a big fan been with yall since the process and if you do do the Paul george vid may u go into more detail on how he shoots
3:35
nice video man. gonna visit your blog now. c u
inside the nba 2/23/17 brought me here plus bullls nation miss the 62 - 20 squad
How havent you done a Jordan or Kobe yet.
D-Rose's athleticism is so great, his body couldn't physically handle it
Tmac or Gilbert Arenas ... Just finished watching their hardwood classic both of them are great scorers ... Great video btw love the work 💯💯💯
Do an attention to detail about Derrick Rose's "windy city assassin" move against the Bucks.
The music is really good, where is it from?
Awesome Video
You know what's weird? By watching this vid, I see that I play like D. Rose (except hangtime) because yet watching him 4 years has turned me into a D. Rose CLONE!
