I recognized your profile picture and username and I must say, I really really appreciate your 3d models 🎉💪💪 they are the best keep up the good work!!!! We all love your work it’s great you are a master of modeling trains!! Cheers!
I'm interested to see what happens when diesel becomes so expensive to run trains, whether they pull finger and electrify the rest of the line to Cairns. Also im wondering how that's going to affect the westlander and inlander because it's becoming obvious the government has lost interest in regional passenger trains in Queensland and wants to axe em. The spirit of the outback will probably be sold off to private operators and become stupid expensive to travel on like the Gahn and IP trains. Im sort of surprised the Isa line wasnt included in the electrification, but from what iv been told the mine only has a few years left before It's shut.
I will make a Comment ?On Diesel engines! There is technology available to day to reduce pollution on Diesel engines by 98 percent reduction in pollution !cost to introduce the technology to diesel locomotive around 6 million dollars and time frame to modify to fit the Engines and test 6\12 months!cost saving better fuel economy! And less pollution! This technology was looked at!But no one wonted to pay for the technology available!there was a lot of interest with the testing done !on smaller diesel engines!it has federal accreditation in the U.S.A. ! still the same thing no body wants to pay for the technology.this was done 15 years ago??????
fmnut true yes they are. But given the route it wouldn't exactly be hard for aurizon to lend one of their fleet to qr. it's under wires the whole way to Rockhampton and rocky is basically the heart of all electric locos in Queensland
fmnut love that you catch a lot of birdsong, adds to the ambiance. I enjoy your long shots, too. Do you use a tripod? Judging from your many videos from down under, you spend a lot of time there now, or have you moved there?

Some nice classic GM haulage at the beginning. Those "Spirit of Queensland" trains look interesting, are they new? Some nice old mechanical signalling, though there don't seem to be any block instruments or single line tokens.
AndreiTupolev There were 2 all coach diesel tilt train sets placed in Brisbane to Cairns service in 2003. A third set of power cars plus sleeper bed cars were built for the 2014 replacement of the Sunlander. The new sleeper bed cars and the existing coaches were spread among the 3 consists to make identical train sets.
9:03 Those lights went off super fast. The train barely cleared the crossing!
Do not fret.. The ppl would of saw the lights go off after the train had crossed..
If you put it on slow it cleared the crossing just before the lights turned off

Love the Tilt Train Replacement. Loco hauled is so much better

I'll never understand why there wasn't an electric loco for the "tiltlander" it's under wires for the whole trip
What train are you calling the tiltlander?
fmnut it's the nickname for the Rockhampton tilt train replacement
Nick Rowe Is it possibly because there are no QR electric locos available? Aren't all the serviceable electrics owned by Aurizon?
fmnut true yes they are. But given the route it wouldn't exactly be hard for aurizon to lend one of their fleet to qr. it's under wires the whole way to Rockhampton and rocky is basically the heart of all electric locos in Queensland
Nick Rowe Maybe the amount Aurizon wants to rent one is too high? I doubt they would just "loan" one at no cost.
I love those horns on the fancy passenger locomotives!
What are the narrow gauge tracks we keep seeing?
DieselElevators 2 foot gauge sugar cane railways. The Queensland Rail network is 3 foot 6. So it's all narrow gauge, just some narrower than others.
***** Ah, thanks for the info.
What was that man pushing exactly?
The levers control the track switches and signals via a system of rods and wires. State of the art in 1870.
Ok thank you I appreciate it
Signal box at Kuranda.
@@fmnut All track switching is done manually from signal cabin!out side the Electronic signalling areas in Q .L.D.

No tripod, just in-camera stabilization supplemented with editing software as needed. Still living in the US, just really enjoy visiting OZ and NZ.
A semaphore at 12:36 😱
Curt Wakeman yes there are still quite a few of these left in FNQ at the cane railway crossings
Those black and grey carriages remind me of Canadian National (CN) carriages they used to have from 1961/1978
Great work with beautiful views 👍🏽😊
Greetings from Finland,

Beautiful videos! fantastic locations!! Subscribed!!!
Wonderful video, would it be possible to have the locations added for where you shot your footage?

Great work, what camera do you record with?? by the way your intro has the wrong QR logo :P
Panasonic HDC TM700. What's wrong with the logo?
Nice and you had the maroon logo.. Just making sure you are aware what logo you used..
