Hey-hey Soapsters! What do you do when you want the wood grain effect, but your fragrance accelerates?
This is how I 'now' create Woodlander soap. The concentric pot dump. There, I've named it. 😂
& oh mama this fragrance has some naughty fast moving aroma chemicals in it, but I soaped steady & kept the quickening at bay, (phew!). It smells absolutely divine & is downright addictive for my customers!
Granted, I'm not using the typical wood grain pour, but the final effect is pretty close imo. What do you think? Would you use this tech?
    Thanks for watching xx

An interesting soap. I bet it smells fantastic! It looked SO much like yummy chocolate and caramel when you were initially pouring it! LOL! The woodgrain effect turned out pretty nicely.

Just put your kaolin clay or any clay into your lye mixture. Stir a bit before adding to your oils. Works great & no extra blending that will speed up trace. ❤ It does seem plausible that you could put colloidal oatmeal into your lye solution also. After all oatmeal gets cooked normally & isn't effected/burnt by a little heat. I think I will give it a try with my next batch of oatmeal & honey soap. ❤ Beautiful soap. ❤❤❤

Heheh, it really does! I do love this soap, but so many times it has me on my toes speeding up as I pour. This one behaved well thankfully xx

I want that sample bar that's a full slice off the top layer!!! Those swirls are gorgeous 😍 ✨️ ❤️ I wish you would do a really shallow full slab with a beautiful swirl on top and cut all the bars like that one.

The wood grain effect is incredible in this batch! I'd TOTALLY try & do my first wood grain this way. I think it looks great!! I'm still scared to try & do the wood grain though,... for fear it mess it up somehow. LOL! ♥😍❤

If you don't mind, where did you get your fragrance oil? The description sounds amazing. Also it's so cool how some of the bars look like they have knots in the grain

UA-cam does this after the last update. You'll just need to close and restart the app. Hope that helps!

@@harrietyounger6118 You do have a good point & I really value feedback like this. Thanks for your time reading / commenting, I do appreciate it!
It's true I know creators in my field make shorter content & gain success, however, after looking into it, (with creator tutor channels), the conclusion was although set formulas do work, it's a good idea to experiment. Foremost, the idea should drive the video, meaning, although set formulas, do work, (including sticking to specific length of video), the video needs to flow naturally at it's own pace. If that video works better longer, great, if it works better shorter also great. I personally prefer to watch longer videos & there is some evidence that my viewers watch both.
UA-cam is awash with shorter length content, so I felt the desire to create longer videos to stand out. I think it's worth experimenting with longer content to see how it works within a particular genre. Well, it seems it does work in mine, so if whilst editing a video turns out to be longer than anticipated, I'm ok with that. I do make shorter ones as well, so I feel I'm covering all bases.
Oh & sadly I'm not monitised yet so I make no monies yet on the channel!

@@CoventinaSoapery it could still be longer format if it was shorter. I watched the video but I skipped bits that felt too long and unnecessary parts for example taking off the baking paper took a few minutes.
The actual soap pouring was great and I don't think should be cut down. The cutting of the bar was great too but there was alot of time setting up the cutting board and it didn't add anything. My personal feeling is that the focus should be on the skill, design and techniques and that too much extra footage takes away from those features.
I like longer format but I don't like watching footage that adds nothing.
I think you are talented and I would like you to be monetised and that is why I even left the feed back.
If you would like I could tell you more about the bits I fast forwarded.
I watched your spirits in the soap video which was a shorter format and enjoyed it. I agree experimenting is wise.
Your method in this video is the focal point for me. It's not one I have seen before and it could be better highlighted with a more efficient video.
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
