If the Micra were available when you bought your Mini, would you have opted instead for the Micra?? I’m trying to decide which La Marzocco to buy. Thanks.
It all just comes down to your budget really. I'd pick the mini over the micra always if had to pick one. I also don't like the look of the steam wand on it seems very short but I'm sure it's fine. But hey you can't go wrong with neither of them! both are some powerful machines
The biggest difference really is the heat up time. The Micra is ready to go in a few minutes, where as the Mini takes around 20. They did purposefully put a shorter team wand on the micra to box you in to home use because they don't want people purchasing the cheaper Micra for commercial use. Same reason 'brew by weight' is only open to Mini owners and not Micra. As long as you're not blasting coffee after coffee then the Micra is going to be the better option. It takes up less space, warms up a lot faster and packs as much punch for a handful of coffees at a time. Unless you need the ability to make a steady stream of coffees one after another, then there is no reason to go for the mini over the micra
if I'm making one latte in the morning and maybe one at night daily.. is the mini overkill? I'm new to all this never pulled a shot yet.. is this too much
I don't know if I can get pass the Micra's short wand and shorter head space for your cup and scale. I'll probably never need to make 20 espressos in a row but I'd probably go with Mini

i did indeed! everything is custom painted the portafilter too. It wasn't stainless steel when i first got it.
