Its an early X180, the Stevens designed heavy update. The S3 was the last of the sharper edged model styled by Giugiaro. This one does have later wheels and spoiler from a S4
oo a x180 I've heard of those but never knew the differences between it and the s4, still, really cool! wishing someday I'll get to drive some sort of esprit haha
Nice Job, just finished mine. Made me smile, you getting the air saw out....which you will need for the long studs on the bottom of the rear hubs (good luck with them!). Replacing the front lower arm anti-roll bar bush is fun too. Old ones will lever out, but the new ones need a lot of lub (I used hand cleaner) threaded bar, plate one side a large washer the other to press them back in.
Thx... Just wait until you get to the handbrake cables! Take the drivers seat out and the inner sill cover off (under the carpet). Do not refit until the handbrake is adjusted.
Beyond excited to see an update on this thing! Great work man
I’ve been waiting for this👍. Great to see the Esprit.

I thought the esprit use Vauxhall front suspension, this looks more like the original triumph derived lotus suspension from the earlier cars?
S1 and s2 did, early s3 used Triumph, '85 and onwards using Toyota based front vert.links
worried this project had disappeared, great to see it again!

Nice job, working on that myself too. Same worse state. Now the fun part begins, the rear hub removal ;)
Good luck
