- Following up to the projects inaugural debut, "Noblesse d'Épée" and the split with Sol Miracula, both released in 2020, Conifère's full-length is finally out and what a triumphant return it is.
Much different than the project's debut, "L'impot du Sang" takes a much cleaner and more melodic approach to Black Metal, definitely resembling some of their Québécois compatriots in projects like Monarque or Délétère, with a great songwriting combining beautiful, plaintive Folk passages and blasting moments of triumphant melodicism harkening back to times of old, chanting its land's myths of glory and treachery, always wrapped in a blanket of rustic and freezing atmosphere that permeates the Québecois countryside.
Over half-an-hour of blissful, masterfully executed Black Metal, balancing the sword-in-hand will power with a bucolic melancholy much present in francophone romanticism and in history of struggle and resiliance of these men's people.
Released digitally on the band's bandcamp page. Physical release to be announced.

Some of the guys in Conifere also play in a band called Vesperal. If you like Conifere you will also like Verperal.
You also might wanna check out Prieure from France, especially their latest album "Le depart".
If you are looking for some Black Metal with some more punk-ish elements check out Brand from Austria. Speaking of Brand you should check out Gates of Londra (same guy as in Brand).
Poison Ruin could be interesting too but it's not as much Black Metal as all the bands mentioned before but still, check them out. Especially their first release.
Necropole has been mentioned so if you check out Necropole and like it you definitely should check out Caverne (same guy that is behind Necropole).
