The World Mission Society Church Of God is a South Korean based cult group that makes great boasts about being the “one true church” who alone has the truth of God and can teach the right way of salvation. Not very surprisingly, this is nearly the exact same claim that basically every other Christian-based cult makes. The WMSCOG asserts that their deceased leader “Ahnsahnghong” is the second coming of Christ in the flesh who restored the way to eternal life through the Passover. Another central doctrine for them is their doctrine about “God the Mother.” They believe that a South Korean, elderly woman named Zhang Gil Jah is a second female deity who they refer to as Mother God or Jerusalem Mother. According to WMSCOG doctrine, one must have faith in Mother God in order to be saved. With a little critical thinking, analyzing of the WMSCOG doctrines, and an honest and responsible examination of the biblical text, it can be decisively shown that the WMSCOG is nothing more than a high-control, high-demand cult group that will likely only bring you and your family emotional, spiritual, relational and financial pain and devastation.

They caught me in a target in Maryland. I thought I was going to bible study with a group of cool women. It was an attempt at recruitment instead. Once they told me God came back in 1948, my side eye was activated.
I’ve been approached by members of this cult two times. The first time I was invited to a Bible study. I didn’t think anything of it. I attended the virtual Bible study. During the Bible study, the lady leading the Bible study started taking verses out of context. Thank God that I actually read and study The Bible. So I corrected her every time and put the Bible verses into context. I told them they were being deceived and they should read The Bible for themselves. The lady kept cutting me off and eventually she hung up on me! The second time I was approached by this cult, I was at the mall. I told the two ladies that I’m familiar with their group and how they take Bible verses out of context and twist them to deceive people. I told them The Bible is The Truth and The Word of God, you do not add or take away from His Word. Once again, I told them to read and study The Bible, to fast, and pray and God will open their eyes. Praying for all these people that are being deceived 🙏🙏

@@tiffanyp1416 I’m not going to lie I was really stubborn when it came to my mothers disapproval of me going to this church for several years even. It sounds bad but in my personal experience, her constant disapproval pushed me further away from her and deeper into the church, it made me want to work harder in hopes she would one day be “saved”. I eventually stopped talking to her completely for a couple years, only when I knew I knew something was truly wrong in my spirit being there is when I broke down and talked to her about leaving. After finally getting out and opening up to her about everything is when she revealed to me the Lord put it on her heart not to lecture me anymore about the church but to stay in fasting and prayer and trusting the Lord will make a way. I couldn’t thank my mother enough for what a truly amazing impact this had on me because it DOES work. Little things here and there started to weigh on my heart and spirit telling me things were off. Until one day everything flooded together and made sense that this was NOT the place the Lord wanted me in and was NOT the place to go to be near the true God. I will pray for you and your family who are in this place of confinement, because it is very hard to convince someone who believes in the teachings so wholeheartedly, I know, I was one of them. Never underestimate the power of prayer and fasting, lean on the Lord and trust he will soften their hearts and remove the veil from their eyes, in time the Lord can do wonders. 🙏🏻💕 I feel like I have a lot more to say because this does hit me very deep. I was invited to a bible study by a coworker. I accepted without asking much. Once we entered to the place, everybody started saying GBU and giving me handshakes…
It happened on a Sunday prior to Palm Sunday; they were all cleaning the church preparing it for Palm Sunday….
The Bible study started, it lasted 1 hour and a half. I was told that Saturday is the day to rest and how a baptism can save me.
The members of the church wanted to show me the bathroom where they do the baptisms. I was like OK.
Then they asked me when I was my next visit, I said I could come on Sunday. They said: oh Palm Sunday is a big day. You have to get baptized. I said “I wasn’t informed about this, I don’t have time, and what if I don’t get baptized? I can’t still come and watch the celebration?” They were shocked with my words…
My coworker is trying to take me to a different location…. She doesn’t know I already did my research. 😊
The members of the church showed up to my workplace around 8 pm on a Thursday night. Inviting me to church. I said no, it’s too late for me. (Seems they wanted to get the baptism done before palm day). I really need to work on stronger boundaries. I will tell my coworker I’m no longer interested.

@@Ravennnchantel they even showed up at my workplace inviting me to church. I don’t even know them to be close doors with them. That church looks private. It’s not street level. It’s located on a 8th floor I think.
I have a good friend in church whose son said someone approached him about "God the Mother". I had no idea then the depth and how severe this evil teaching is. Now I'm educating myself on this cult to better help people who may have fallen for this lie.

Thank you, I am in this group with very smart people. I recognized them at the beginning but my sister keep pushing me, I trust her, so I did joined this group for 3 weeks now. I felt something and kept researching about this, and I found this video. Luckily I understand English, I understand this video, even though they re in Vietnam now. I think I ll listen to them till the end of all lessons and I leave, anyway this is an interesting experience in my life. Hope you keep your eye open and focus on your life, be strong with them, they’re everywhere.
Wow... 38:11 is me...I've always been a Christian, and I've always believed in God, and I got roped into wmscog when I was looking for a bible study group. I was with them for less than a year, but the impact it made on me has been severe (I almost want to say traumatizing but not in an abusive way). The people were wonderful, but the endoctrination you go under with them really does stick with you, and I think this is why I'm still healing from leaving them. It's been over 1.5 yrs since I left, and I was only with them for 9 months...but it's hard for me to just ignore how they twisted verses when I read them. It's hard for me to forget the studies that surrounded those certain verses. I stopped mentioning it during my studies with my husband because I know I need to move on. I know I'm back in the truth with Jesus as my Savior, but I also know I have healing to do and some guilt to overcome from even joining them to begin with. That part just hit me like a brick because I know that feeling...but I know if I let the fear of those triggering verses keep me from the Bible, then I'll never learn what God was truly saying. It took me a long time to open a Bible, though...and I started because my husband wanted to start watching The Chosen. We both started growing in our faith together after we started watching that show (given, he'd been watching church services from his old church on youtube recently before that), and it helps that I have him for support as well as God when I feel worried or guilty about that part in my life. It bothered my husband so much when I would bring it up during Bible studies or church services or just through us reading the Bible together...how the verses were taught to me in wmscog...and I think it's because he knew I must not have moved on from there yet, and he was worried about me. I can tell it's getting easier to focus on the true message now, but that doesn't mean I don't still think about the false teachings for a minute before refocusing. I pray for your healing, Berdine, and I hope you know God is with you and loves you no matter what
1:16:49 I actually feel...dumb (for lack of a better discriptor without being too harsh on myself and probably others who have experienced the same thing) that I let this happen to me, and when I asked about something in the Bible after a study, I was told "You know, some things in the Bible aren't there for any kind of importance but more for filler, and you don't need to worry about that stuff. We'll study the stuff you need to know, don't worry." I was so ignorant to the Bible and how it's God's Word to us that I just went with it! My response "Oh, ok that makes sense." *facepalm* Thinking back on this stuff makes me emotional for sure, and I wasn't even in it as long as many of the other prior members were who shared their stories...I can't even imagine the scars they must have...

Show them the history of Angsanghong ,person born in a Buddhist family. Tell them he is a sinner, tell them he died a natural death like humanbeings and was burried in grave which is still there. Ask them how does your church WMSCOG is different from other churches, ask them why do you claim and are proud to say we obey all the laws and commandments, ask them how many commandments are there in the scriptures, ask them do you know all them, God said obey all my commandments, do they obey all the commandments, or select some and leave and ignore some,, stick to your question, ask God commanded not work on sabbath, then how some members atend work and keep evening service, and where in the scriptures it says so. Ask them do they obey all the commandments or cherry pick them , if so, how can they proudly claim to be the true church. Read your Bible carefully and understand God's word. Take guidance, from the Great light Studios, they are doing their best to save, help the people to come out of this dangerous and false church. Follow and practice the teachings of Jesus only.
I just attended one of their Bible studies here in Iowa City. Once the man, who asked me to join, started talking about some other “mother god”, that’s when I knew something was up. Don’t believe these folks and listen to your discernment. I rebuke all seeds planted that went against your Word Lord.
I was in SCJ for 5 years but went to a Bible study for WMSCOG and got natives that sakes day too this was 2 weeks before I got “harvested” into SCJ
Berdine, thank you for sharing your story and I pray you find the rest and healing you need. This is a cult. It's as though Jesus knew people would use and abuse people with religion so Jesus said: Come Unto Me All You Who Labor and Are Who are Heavy Laden and I will give you Rest.
I had a girl come up to me at my university campus and asked me if I believed in God, and I explained how I already go to church and she proceeded to ask “does your church follow the Passover and sabbath?” And I said I wasn’t sure and she said “well they’re wrong, and worshipping is on Saturday” and I said “ok then” and she invited me to a couple Bible studies and I said sure, and she told me that her church was very exclusive and that once she say that I was ready she would invite me, and she invited me and I went, and I didn’t get a good vibe at all, I tried canceling a lot but I felt bad, and she would always try to reach out to me. then I went to the church and it very much gave me cult vibes and it didn’t give me any good vibes at all and she told me how in Genesis, it says “us” and how there’s a Heavenly Father and mother and I found it weird, and I did research on the church, and she didn’t even bother to tell me the name of the church, just the address, and I looked at the door and that’s how I was able to see it say “World Mission Society, Church of God” and I did research on it and say all the videos like this one, and then I contacted my best friends mom and she’s a preacher at our church, and she explained everything to me and she told me how she thinks they’re a cult and one of those crazy cults and to stay away. I texted the girl and told her how I did research on her church and I don’t agree with it, and she said that at least she “tried” to save me, basically saying I was going to Hell, and that I was wrong, and that no research will show me God, when I clearly said that I don’t agree with her church. I thank God I didn’t fall for any of it.
Shabbat is on Saturday. In the Hebrew calendar Saturday is the last day of the week. This is for Judaism. In Christianity it's called the Sabbath and that's on Sunday. The Sabbath cannot be Saturday. That's Shabbat. I almost got duped by these people too. They can't take the traditions of Judaism and make it something else. Ugh.

@@bellalimon484 God does not reward doing ‘good deeds’ in front of everyone and boasting about them. How much volunteering a church has done should not be the main selling point. So many cults, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, Freemasons even do ‘good deeds’ it doesn’t mean that they are not cults though.

Crazy ..These people came up to my husband and I today at a shopping center today and started talking to us and invited us to Bible study. We talked for a moment and as soon as this man said God the mother my husband and I looked at each other like what? They asked us why do you think Jesus got baptized at 30? My husband said " I am a Pastor the reason Jesus got baptized at 30 was because.. and the man totally cut him off and didn't let him speak. LOL. I rebuke this type of debockery in the name of Jesus!

I think the significance of being baptized at 30 correlates with the Jewish priestly traditions where a rabbi would receive his religious authority at the age of 30.
I had the same experience. The time in which I wanted to be part of a bigger church they happened to approach me on my college campus and they asked me to join a club and they were teaching me a whole bunch of things and as naive as I was I was accepting it. We gotta be careful

I was in WMSCOG for 9 years I always lazy to go to church and make excuses for not attending third day and sabbath day worship even the Feasts of God of the new covenant which is established by Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago. I got approached by them maybe 2 months ago now and I’ve been attending Bible studies have not been baptized but attending Bible studies to just hear what they have to say. Things don’t add up and when I ask a question they will say that it’s a different study and I have to wait. These people are very kind, welcoming and know what they are doing! They are also very pushy! They always ask me when I’m getting baptized which I think is inappropriate for anyone to ask, that is personal decision. Anyways I’m thankful for this channel and hearing people testimonies. Suppose to attend another study this week but I will cancel that and tell them that I’m no longer interested!

I went through this situation. I was approached by a women at the location I was working. She asked me to bible study and I thought nothing of it. I ended video chatting her. On a daily basis. Calling it bible study but the Bible was not what it seems when she was telling me. Everything was off. I got frustrated so many times with her but I was lost and I didn’t know my way in life. I ended up being baptized. I was a former drug addict now 3 years cleans. Anywho the last straw for me was during Passover when they rejected me. The told me God won’t forgive for having a companion. Long story but this Church is toxic, horribly broken wrong and they need to find the real Jesus. I’m not mad at them anymore because at the end of this story I found the true gospel and I found myself. I am happy and grateful

I recently just left this cult myself. I was told I could not keep the Passover unless I kept tithe or kept sabbath consistently. In other words, I have to buy my way into heaven. Ahnsahnghonh even wrote about this in his book "The New Jerusalem and the Bride: Interpretation on Women's Veil”

But ask yourself, why would Father leave only a note and a picture to "testify to mother" but write a 80 page book to deny the idea of a Mother God.
The WMSCOG claims that the book was only for Um Soo In, someone who previously claimed to be Mother God was a "special measure" meant only for back then - but in the preface " calls the book the "Unchanging Truth". They will not mention the book unless asked about it, and they have a video prepared giving a lame excuse for why the book doesn't count.
In this book he writes that:
1. It would be delusional for Jerusalem to be a person because since Isaac represents Christ, Mother God would be marrying her son
2. The Bride in Revelations is the saints
3. Jerusalem won't descend out of Heaven until 1,000 years after the earth is destroyed

So I met some of the girls they recruited (still in highschool) at Walmart.. I found that extremely disturbing also finding on UA-cam they favor recruiting young girls . Thank you! Hope you are doing well. I don't know what to do to get my daughter out of the group. We cannot discuss calmly with her about the group. She gets so defensive and gets mad. The only way to keep relationship with my daughter is not to mention anything about the group.
@@nu1884 yes I’m doing so much better after leaving this cult. In all honesty, there’s nothing you can do to get her out. Everyone is different but I’d say try doing normal things with her or things that she enjoys/use to enjoy doing outside of the church. Prioritize spending time and doing activities together at least once a month if she lets you. Continue to show her love. It’s sad because the irony of this is you’re the only one who really loves her and will continue to love her even after she finally gets out but she believes the “conditional love” she has for the church right now is genuine and that’s hard. Just continue to be patient with her like you’ve been and try to build a life outside of the church. Even if it bothers you try not to bring it up and continue to support her. She will need to come to that realization on her own, that’s the only way she’ll leave. One thing I try to encourage members to think about is when “mother” dies and nothing happens like they’ve been waiting to happen to let it be their sign to leave because they will make an excuse for the members to continue to stay and it’ll be up to them to see this as the biggest red flag.

I think listening more and more of the testimony i started to remember more of how things happened how i felt then before ! I also feel this is like therapy for me. And she is right the verses for me where hard to really get of my system and see them as wrong but the testimonies really helped besides looking at the history

Thank you. It’s hard not to feel resentful but everyday is a gift and a new chance to pick up where you left off. Although I can’t get those years back as well but I’m so thankful to come to realize what this was and not give them more of my time and years. God bless you. Unfortunately I notice people who fall away seem to have half truths. I feel your spiritual eyes were never completely opened. If you never mature you are still on the milk... a baby. None of you have mentioned PRAYER. Also other churches believe in so many other things even that there is a Heavenly Mother, yet people attack WMSCOG. It seems to truly validate Truth vs Falsehood, Light vs Darkness. It is what it is. One thing for sure it will all be REVEALED on that Day. May God have mercy on all souls.

I really love your video u got deep. I was a member for 3 years i think its been a year or close to a year since I've been back and now i guess im agnostic and just trying to find myself. I watch this ex pastor on youtube who talks about the origin of religion and how its meant to separate us which it does and to control us, from Christianity and the rest of the thousands of the other cults. Drifters do not subscribe to correct worship. This ex pastor he tells you origin of religion and uses bible again? How conflicting? The bible teachings begin with statutes of old covenant and how God will use old covenant to confirm new covenant. Changes made by some drifters on the old and new covenant have confused you. You left the right place, but if it wasn't, everyone has their place, walk on... But be sure you'll be thirsty again.

This is powerful, I was approached on the Sabbath as well and got in a car to their 3rd service. That night, they took me into a “study room” which I am now convinced is a manipulation/intimidation room. Thankfully, my time with them was only one day, but if I did not already know the gospel and have been consistently reading my Bible, I would totally have joined this cult. They were very convincing and much more prepared than I was. Message for Christians: READ THE BIBLE! You must know the scriptures if you are to be able to distinguish between truth and lie.

I felt empty when they told me the second coming of christ came already. I just knew we were doomed. I still cant get over the fact that they were actually worshipping a man and women. I wonder where his soul is going to end up once the actual second coming happens.
I am a proud member of the WMSCOG and we are not a cult. Cults dont get awards from all over the world for good deeds and helping people and the environment. We learn to practice the teachings of Jesus in the Bible by treating others as better than ourselves and loving our neighbors as better than ourselves. We dont make things up. We follow the Bible. I have family and friends outside the church who i love and spend time. My life has only been enriched by the church, my family relationships are better and every aspect of my life. But you should choose what doctrines you believe and what makes you happy. My friend and I entered together along with her mom who was visiting her that summer. Side note: My friend and her mom didn't have a lot of spiritual experience or knowledge about God and the bible so I feel like that is why they are still in the church. My friend has a brother who adamantly rejected the church but since he keeps falling off of his feet financially and gets in a homeless situation, she tells him to attend the church if he wants to live with her and he has fallen for their lies and brainwashing. Please pray for my friends to come out of this church.

Amazing story! I joined this church in 2013 to 2016 and I thought I was doing the right thing.. but I had several doubts.. luckily for me I wasn’t that deep in it. But I can resonate a lot with what Berdine is saying and when I left I n 2016 I’ve been cautious of any church I joining

With this video, I would like to speak about my experience as well;
I was in this group for a year as a minor, I was seventeen when they came to me and convinced me to join their worship. I believed them as a high school student in a catholic private school. They phrased it as something totally harmless and would never really force me to join. They told me about Ahnsahnghong and The mother god and it drew me in and blew my mind. That's how convincing they are when it comes to what they say. They all sound knowledgeable and you'd never think twice because it's never the actual minister who's conducting these bible studies, at least in my experience, they had a hierarchy almost. The only reason I had stopped was because my friends took up a bit more of my time before quarantine started and then school work piled up during quarantine and I had no time for their services both physical and virtual. They were constantly blowing up everything they knew about me, short of forcefully visiting my house to see what I have been up to. I remember the slight fear that was ingrained into me for they talked about doomsday and how only people in their church would be saved.
All in all, I'm glad I'm out. However I do fear for some people as I know there are still minors in that specific branch of the church.
Hi just wanna say I am a university student and they are currently hanging around our living spaces and dorm to hunt down our students and I encountered them as well. I am a buddhist and same as your experience they say I don't have to be christian to learn about the bible for the bible does not teach us to be christian but the way to heaven. I was drawn in because it just felt like it makes sense to me. But one day while they were talking me outside of my dorm and after they left, my housemate was kind enough to came up to me to warn me about them. That's when I started to do research on them to find the truth. Now I have no idea what to do because they know where I live 🥲
