I know it's kinda random but android 11 easteregg, works very similiarly to android 7 easteregg, if you go to quick actions menu or whatever that is u can edit it and it will show u 3 things that are used to attract cats and you can collect cats like in android 7
Thanks!. There are about 270 entries, so I had to look for multiple sources and things to say about them. I knew some of them, but there were some details that I didn't know. All the research, script, recording and editing took like a month without doing anything but working on the video (the exception being eating, sleeping and doing other basic stuff).
Holy moly, at this point, it’s no longer just a meme it’s a comprehensive chronicle of operating system entire history! You've put so much effort into this, definitely subbed I use Arch btw
Your channel is amazing, I don't know how you manage to research and put together such good content. I watched basically this entire video in one setting lmao. I hope the yt algorithm puts this on a lot of people's reccomended.
Something that i remember vagely as well, Is that the Playstation 3 around its release had the option to run linux as a computer, however, this was removed because hackers used it to dump the console memory.
Its likely Windows 9 was skipped, because of faulty version checks. > "There are many hazards to changing the reported operating system version number. ... Changing the reported operating system version number is always a very tense but necessary step in shipping a new operating system. You throw the switch, knowing full well that hundreds of applications that had been running just fine will start to fall over, and you’ve just signed up the product team for thousands more hours in the application compatibility labs." Raymond Chen - Microsoft; "Tales of Application Compatibility": stories from a Windows 95 compatibility engineer
3:36 Android is not entirely written in Java. System core-wise, it can basically be considered a Linux distro, albeit with plenty of additions from Google (such as a custom windowing system made out of 2 components called "WindowManager" and "SurfaceFlinger" respectively, a custom runtime called Android ART, and a custom package manager called apk)
2:33 This is actually an intentional change by Apple & browser vendors. All versions of macOS since Big Sur represent them self as Catalina, for two reasons - Compatibility: macOS has been 10.x since 2001, suddenly going to 11.0 might break something (i.e. checking the number after the . is greater than a specific number) - Privacy: Reporting all versions of macOS as the same can prevent fingerprinting. 5:17 TPM has nothing to do with CPU generation, you can have a TPM 2.0 on an older machine (such as a 6th gen Intel CPU). Windows 11 requires *both* a TPM 2.0, and a Intel 8th generation (or equivilent AMD) CPU or later.
3:57:50 as someone who started Linux this week (CentOS7) this week I feel attacked lol, had this exact issue. Either way, really enjoyed the video. Great work.
Hi. Yes, I'm really sorry. I'm not abandoning the channel. In fact, I've been working for some months on a new, long video. As I'm replying this, I'm editing it, haha. I'm awful at meeting these deadlines, but I swear these coming weeks, you'll have it. Thank you so much for the support!
3:16:50 The second dominant platform is switching from macOS to Linux now, as due to the MBP 2016 and MBA 2018 being overpriced and not that good value, having their bad keyboards, and severely lacking in ports, which is a biggie for most users, who literally would ditch all their gear just for usb c replacements? The M1 fixed the value issue, but the ports issue is less urgent for pro users, but USB-A is still used extremely commonly
it's very odd but samsung sam has been used in samsung promos here in brazil, also, they have been taking down fanart of her. could it be that they bought/licensed the character?
At around 1:24:00 the reason you think PowerShell and CMD are worse than bash is because windows never teaches users how to use a shell meaningfully, and people only start becoming comfortable with terminals until they use Linux daily, then come back to windows and hate PS Also, CMD isn’t actually a shell and is just a command processor, very different. Windows terminal and PowerShell 7 are honestly pretty good
@@the_mariocrafter Anything Linux, I didn't know a lot about it (even though it's been my main OS). The only part I kind of disliked was the reused facts (down to the exact footage + voice over) of the last video about Android).
the reason windows 9 isnt a thing is because windows 8 was such a failure they had to make 8.1 a better version of windows 8 so microsoft thougt it would be weird to make windows 9 when they had windows 8.1
Excellent video, great to listen to on a Sunday. My favorite Android skin is Sony's, always has been. I've used stock Android phones (Motorola, Pixel) but they're second choice for me. Always strongly disliked Samsung's bloated Toys-R-Us looking skin and used a Poco, great phone, but couldn't stand the skin after a few months.
This TPM stuff for windows 11 and the hard requirements are bullshit guys. When there's a will there's a way, I have windows 11 arm 22h2 installed on my phone right now, the very phone I'm writing this with

Dang thats a long video :D
I know it's kinda random but android 11 easteregg, works very similiarly to android 7 easteregg, if you go to quick actions menu or whatever that is u can edit it and it will show u 3 things that are used to attract cats and you can collect cats like in android 7
I have no words, this is insane
I’m curious on how much research you’ve done to make this video, all i can say is, good job.
Thanks!.
There are about 270 entries, so I had to look for multiple sources and things to say about them. I knew some of them, but there were some details that I didn't know.
All the research, script, recording and editing took like a month without doing anything but working on the video (the exception being eating, sleeping and doing other basic stuff).
@@byteseb the fact that you had the motivation do all that is just crazy man, and i hope you’ll get much more popular this year, good luck!
Holy moly, at this point, it’s no longer just a meme
it’s a comprehensive chronicle of operating system entire history!
You've put so much effort into this, definitely subbed
I use Arch btw
It lacks some things, but I tried my best, lol.
I use Fedora, btw
Your channel is amazing, I don't know how you manage to research and put together such good content. I watched basically this entire video in one setting lmao. I hope the yt algorithm puts this on a lot of people's reccomended.
Thanks!
The whole iceberg is amazing. I've watched it all and I got scared a lot, but I loved it. Thank you a lot for the hard work!
I love your work man. It is sad that your channel is so underrated. keep tge good work up.
Don't give up youre cracking the algorithm rn
Blessed with an almost 5 hour iceberg video, awesome coverage and editing 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Something that i remember vagely as well, Is that the Playstation 3 around its release had the option to run linux as a computer, however, this was removed because hackers used it to dump the console memory.
You can still do it now
ah yes spreading misinformation on the internet, my favorite activity
Nothing like spending New Year's Day watching a 4 hour video on operating systems
Great video! I've been putting it on in the background for a while over the last few days. Great for casual listening.
Its likely Windows 9 was skipped, because of faulty version checks.
> "There are many hazards to changing the reported operating system version number. ... Changing the reported operating system version number is always a very tense but necessary step in shipping a new operating system. You throw the switch, knowing full well that hundreds of applications that had been running just fine will start to fall over, and you’ve just signed up the product team for thousands more hours in the application compatibility labs." Android is not entirely written in Java. System core-wise, it can basically be considered a Linux distro, albeit with plenty of additions from Google (such as a custom windowing system made out of 2 components called "WindowManager" and "SurfaceFlinger" respectively, a custom runtime called Android ART, and a custom package manager called apk)
3:31:41 it could be useful for small code changes to the android manifest to allow unsupported device compatibility, or allow debugging or adb backup.
You're going to see a huge boost in popularity in 2023
Agreed
It looks like it hasn't happened, or not yet at least
Unfortunately no...
another iceberg?? you have been spoiling us!
2:33 This is actually an intentional change by Apple & browser vendors. All versions of macOS since Big Sur represent them self as Catalina, for two reasons
- Compatibility: macOS has been 10.x since 2001, suddenly going to 11.0 might break something (i.e. checking the number after the . is greater than a specific number)
- Privacy: Reporting all versions of macOS as the same can prevent fingerprinting.
5:17 TPM has nothing to do with CPU generation, you can have a TPM 2.0 on an older machine (such as a 6th gen Intel CPU). Windows 11 requires *both* a TPM 2.0, and a Intel 8th generation (or equivilent AMD) CPU or later.
Thanks for the corrections!
3:57:50 as someone who started Linux this week (CentOS7) this week I feel attacked lol, had this exact issue.
Either way, really enjoyed the video. Great work.
Amazing work!
I went to California and saw those Android figures at Mountain View!
Cool
@@the_mariocrafter Yeah! Definitely.
Please, do not abandon your channel, it's really fun to watch your videos
Like Nummer 100, es ist mir eine große Ehre. Sehr unterhaltsam und lehrreich.
Wdym an almost 5 hour long iceberg has only this amount of views!?!? I'm subbing to you and going to hear this while drawing
Thanks!
Great video , Greeting from Cairo .
Appreciate the grind
Great Video!
I am binging 2 technology channels at the same time! Undefined and you!
it's very odd but samsung sam has been used in samsung promos here in brazil, also, they have been taking down fanart of her. could it be that they bought/licensed the character?
5 hour long video, that's dedication

Wow. Excelente vídeo, y te dan increibles comentarios. Felicidades por tu trabajo.
Only 3K views? This video deserve 100K+ views
Who is also watching this video from Waterwolf on Panama Lunix
Awesome video btw
4:38:32 i think telegram could also be a contender, its been used for some really bad stuff and by the russian military
Yes. I think I thought of including it in this video back then, but some stuff was just too dark
@@byteseb yea It really is too dark
unreal quality
At around 1:24:00 the reason you think PowerShell and CMD are worse than bash is because windows never teaches users how to use a shell meaningfully, and people only start becoming comfortable with terminals until they use Linux daily, then come back to windows and hate PS
Also, CMD isn’t actually a shell and is just a command processor, very different.
Windows terminal and PowerShell 7 are honestly pretty good
On my Mac, I use MacOS Ventura
Havent watched this and im praying that there a small mention about a hackintosh
For the samsung thing, very long ago they pit tizen on phones, thats probably what its listing
i use a similiar android skin to pixel's ui, but mine is highly customizable, bc i use a cutomization-oriented rom, called InfinityXOS
2:21:44 also used on smart fridges by lg
This video is so good 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Where is the HTML5 version on icebergcharts

Thanks for this video
I don't know how I sat through all of this.
Favorite part?
@@the_mariocrafter Anything Linux, I didn't know a lot about it (even though it's been my main OS). The only part I kind of disliked was the reused facts (down to the exact footage + voice over) of the last video about Android).
1:11:30 3 BUTTON FOREVER. Nobody will change my mind
Well, I know how i'll loose the next 5 hours.

I like the Google pixel android ui
I am using gentoo XD. Credits to the steam deck
1:06:35 Samsung is rolling her out now.
4:23:58 oops…
Yeah, I missed that.
It's very hard to make a 5 hour video without any mistakes, lol
no way u spent 4 hours???? hell yeah
Chromium is on viewboards though I seen it at school
And my windows 8.1 had like 8000 bsod before :D
the reason windows 9 isnt a thing is because windows 8 was such a failure they had to make 8.1 a better version of windows 8 so microsoft thougt it would be weird to make windows 9 when they had windows 8.1
Went through… testet haiku XD
TempleOS my beloved.
