I have a 2014 Chevy Malibu and my rear seatbelt on the drivers side is stuck. It will release a little bit but it took 15+ minutes of pulling it in and out for us to be able to buckle someone up.

i have a 2005 Chevy Malibu Maxx LT the seat belt light started staying on how do i fix it and is the same as the 2018n model you are working on
If the light remains on it could be a for couple of different reasons. Could just be a poor connection at the plug or the actual seat belt. You hook up a scan tool and read the codes to be sure. We do rebuild seat belts but most of the time its only necessary due to an accident. www.myairbags.com

Malibu. Does this need to be programmed after install to get the light off? My light initially came on from passenger air bag pressence sensor, I replaced whole seat, but didn’t disconnect battery before I undid the seat belt so I have an open circuit.
If the vehicle was not in an accident, then the light would turn off after replacing the seat belt. If the vehicle was in an accident, then the airbag computer module also needs to be sent to MyAirbags for a reset. Visit myairbags.com for more info!

Hello Saadeddin , which part are you asking about? Battery, module or seat belt? I'm using a Socket wrench. Theres a few different sizes for the different parts that range from 8mm - 12mm socket.

You can remove the bottom bolt that holds the seat belt webbing strap, that will get the seat belt loose.

Nella, the first step is to diagnose the airbag light. Hook up the scan tool / scanner to the car and read the airbag codes. You connect the scan tool right into the OBD port/plug. Its usually located below the steering wheel, on the left. Most Part stores like Autozone offer these diagnostic scans. Sometimes for free. You are welcome to reply to us with the trouble code that it reads.
To reinstall do you need to disconnect the battery?
Anytime you're working with components within the airbag system, always disconnect battery first.
