    Normally I am a secret viewer but for this video I had to speak! When I heard you say Scarlet was 7 years old...I couldn’t 🤦🏻‍♀️🤧. I have been watching your channel since BEFORE she was born which means I was 12-13 years old!!! I am 20! I feel like a distant cousin who has watched your family grow! Much love from your secret viewer!!

    I don't think it's possible for you to have a video that is too long, I could watch and listen to you for much longer! Your original bullet journal video was the one that finally gave me the courage to start journaling. I watched all sorts of other videos on the subject but always felt intimidated. Your's allowed me to be at peace with imperfection. Thank you!

    As someone who's trying to start her bullet journal process, this was incredibly helpful!! Thank you so much for sharing your journals. I'm definitely not someone who fits the picture perfect minimalist aesthetic, so the chaos was welcoming 💕

    I can’t believe you prefaced with it being utilitarian and not artsy! It’s so fun, vibrant, and VERY artsy! It may not be Michelangelo, but I got sooooo much inspiration! LOVE YOU!

    I use my bullet journal for memories rather than how some people use it for like tracking sleep and stuff. I want to have them be more journal than planner that being said I still make monthly calendars just for knowing what I have to do/when I work but again I save memories like quotes I love, beautiful things i get or whatever. Time capsule rather than to-do list. I find that other bullet journal videos are so perfect and to-do/tracking focused whereas mine is... a mess but a mess of love. All the best memories all the love very similar to yours especially with all the “fails” where I tried to do the dot thingys and whatnot 🤗

    What the heck, Marie, you're not awkward with your hand gestures, you're unique and very cute! Anyway, I adored this video. Ngl, you were the one who got me interested in bujo in the first place, and although I don't actually have a full one (the idea does seem overwhelming), I've incorporated many systems, tricks and ideas into my planning and note-taking, and that has helped me immensly both with organisation and, maybe somewhat less obviously, with mental health problems. But even taking that aside - as you've said, it's like your brain on paper, and who wouldn't love a trip into Marie's mind?? Not only am I nosy and clingy, but also you are such a ray of sunshine! In short, yay

    This made me feel way better about my mess of a bullet journal.
    I mostly use mine to keep track of weekly to-do/ne lists (combination of things that i need to do and have done in that week) and separate lists for all of my homework and school stuffs.
    Since it is the end of the term for each week there has been decreased amounts of color, and increased amounts of everything juat being written in pencil.

    I started a bujo in 2016 but only kept it up for like 3 months :( This makes me want to start again though! I journaled in mine every night and it was really cathartic and good to get my thoughts down. Your chicken scratch is encouraging and a good reminder that it doesn’t have to be perfect, it’s all about being useful and fun!

    I keep wanting to try bullet journaling, but I am such a perfectionist that I think it would be more frustrating than cathartic. I do need to figure out some way to work out a schedule for myself. At the moment, I work three days a week as a nurse and then have days off in between, but its hard not really having a schedule on my days off. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty to do with chores, working on a Bachelor's degree, and other parts of daily living, but I find it hard to be motivated and have the procrastinator's thought of, "I have all the time in the world!" I have been regular journaling a little bit and actually keeping up with it. Maybe that's my first step to a bullet journal :)

    • @erindoremi
      @erindoremi 6 років тому

      I've been bullet-journaling for about a year and a half now, and I'm very much a perfectionist as well, but my bullet journal actually helped me break that obsessive desire for perfection! I can't quite explain it, and I'm sure it doesn't work this way for everyone, but somehow after a while it worked. Maybe it was because I truly did not have time to make everything perfect and measured and detailed and artistic, which for a while was frustrating but then I just had to settle with the more minimalist and functional style rather than being so meticulous. So perhaps I was forced into non-perfection! And now, I don't even use a ruler to draw straight lines in my journal. Ridiculous.

    • @Cationna
      @Cationna 6 років тому

      Maybe you could use some chosen bujo systems in a regular planner? Or instead of making full spreads, just make space for to-do lists (general and for specific days) in a notebook? Just some ideas :)

    This is SOOOO visually appealing to me I can’t even! Lol. Every time I attempt something like this I feel like I put things in dumb places and don’t like it and get frustrated (and lazy) and give up. But I’m gonna give it another go because...😍 and it speaks to my crafty side that I am so rarely in touch with anymore! But my question is do you figure out what is going on what page beforehand? Like do you put all of the months in when you start each book or do you just fill it as you go? Like when a month ends do you draw the calendar page for the next one and just add whatever else you want to do that month as you decide you want it? That probably didn’t even make sense..🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️😂 but in any case, these are beautiful and inspiring! 😍

    This is so awesome. I need to pause and take screenshots so I can incorporate some of your spreads into my BuJo! I am single with no kids, so a lot of the family stuff is not as helpful for me personally, but I would love a more detailed walk through of your current UA-cam spreads and your health/food/21 day fix spreads as I would love to incorporate both of those things into my BuJo. I have nothing that I would need a bullet journal for. I use my phone for my calendar and google keep for little notes that I delete when I'm done with them. The only thing I actually keep on paper is the list of books I've read each year and the list of books I want to read. Maybe I'll add pages for book release dates and films I want to see. But I prefer to have to do lists and shopping lists on my phone.

    Also, the Sadie monthly doodles are the absolute cutest! Lovely style! I hope whenever you get to make the other ones, you'll show them to us, too :) (maybe on instagram if they don't make it to a video...?)
    Btw, the "chicken scratch" had me very confused for a minute there, I thought you meant your own chickens literally scratched at your journal and I couldn't see it (it's not THAT far-fetched if your bunny chewed on the other one right) lol Which is funny also because there's an idiom with the very same imagery for the very same thing in my native Polish, I just thought of your lady birds first...

    I started bullet journaling after I saw your Top 5 video! I can't thank you enough, because I LOVE it!! I would love to know why you chose a new journal brand this year. I'm currently in an LT, but am thinking about switching it up once it's full.

      Thicker paper is really the only reason. I don't love the suede feel on the outside.

      Thanks! I've been looking at the Rhodia or the Scribbles That Matter journals...

    Oh I think you may have converted me... but I think I might spend to much time trying to organise it in my head 😂 I need a how to video!

    Do you listen to "The Lazy Genius Podcast?" I feel like you would love it and the host, Kendra, is great. She gives such great explanations to bullet journaling. (I find the process to intimidating, and but she simplifies them.)

    This is awesome! I got my first bullet journal for Christmas, and unfortunately, I have already let February slip completely out of 2018. I’m wondering how you chose what to include and what not to include? Did you preplan what you wanted the whole book to look like or just do it one page at a time?

    Hello lovely lady! I would love to have a list of 'sections' you have for each month and then how many pages you devote to that and how you go about creating them either in a simplistic way or cutesie fancy way....if ya get me. I'm a dyslexic and recovering perfectionists (ha!) so I strive for organisation and simpicity but LOVE the cute part so I'm torn to see how this could work for me (although I would love for it to work for me). Any tips/ tricks or future videos on this would be fab!
    Huge love and blessings

    I love this! Been meaning to look up bullet journaling since I first heard you mention it. Looks so cathartic but how do you manage to do it?! Do you do it every day or find yourself retrospectively filling bits in? X

      I fill out my monthly spread once a month, add in blank weeklies and then fill those in daily. I'll try and do a plan with me soon!
