I'm Belgian and I hate the massive taxation that we pay, while multinational companies have an almost zero tax rate, because they can threaten the government with relocation (thousands of workers would lose their jobs), so the government taxes smaller companies and just normal people into the oblivion. Don't get me wrong: our social security is amazing, our education is free from kindergarten to high school, and even at our top rank universities, we pay a maximum of €900 in tuiton fees. It is the funding that's the problem, as it puts all of the burden on individuals and smaller companies, while the multinationals pay almost nothing. In 2021, Belgium lost €172 billion euro's in revenue due to the enormous amount of tax evasion by multinationals and bigger companies
It boosts all the IGs that have research boosts. Technocracy (Semi-irl) itself isn't totally about who's the smartest either tbh, it's about having the people in charge be there because they're experts in their fields. Intelligence does have a bit of an impact, but someone who's got an IQ of 200 but no experience, certs, or education on particle physics is not someone you want making a hydrogen bomb. You want the guy who's got 150 IQ but they've studied physics for the past decade
Hegelian dialectics are a belief that truth is found by clashing what one believes with what exists till they meet in the middle, then repeating ad infinitum.
@@robertlewis6915 I think dialectics can be used to better understand a variety of things, but that they ultimately cannot fully describe anything. A lot of the early believers thought anything could be understood with them, and Marx for one thought that dialectics could describe history, but time has proven that it is a limited lens just as any other, powerful though it may be.
The clout loss for industrialists at 13:07 was cos you made all the buildings publicly traded. FYI Hegelian Dialectics was the philosophy that marxism came out of. If i understand it right (philosophers feel free to correct me) basically sees things in the world as the result of competing ideas at odds, sharpening the contradictions until the contradictions get resolved, but that throws up a new set of competing ideas. Marx and Engels refined and popularised a materialistic version (dialectical materialism) that basically sees the world as competing material processes with basically the same interplay as Hegel described ideas.
Not as much a result of ideas at odds, but that all in the world is built over a false perception putting povs at odds. The path to the knowledg of the Absolute (the dialetics path) would be that of realising that those definitions are made up limitations on a whole that encompasses all those things even if they seem at odd at first site. That realisation would come in steps to the counciousness that ever understands (and for that suffers) that the limitations it set were wrongful.
as a belgian i can say with my whole heart that i hate taxation especially as we pay the highest rate usually, every few years another country passes us but then we get back on top sooner or later and the money goes nowhere, there's just a big oven in brussels where they shovel the tax money into it
