What is a neuron? | Deep Learning Tutorial 3 (Tensorflow Tutorial, Keras & Python)

- In this video, we will see how you can think of a logistic regression as a neuron. We will use insurance dataset as a sample and build a logistic regression. Logistic regression uses two step process for classification,
step 1: linear regression to find best fit line for given dataset
step 2: sigmoid or logit function to convert this line into values between 0 and 1
Using sigmoid function one can do a classification.

This tutorial on neurons as in NN is simply amazing, At 14:42 when the single neuron representation of the logistic regression was presented, it was mind - boggling - the link and transition from linear / logistic models to NN was seamlessly clear. So smooth it was. Otherwise NN used to be seen separately and one would have to imagine a lot to get a hang of them. Thanks a lot.

i finally see some mathematics being applied in a field. After graduating i never used calculus, trigonometry or anything.. i became an IT Support guy, Server Admin, Automation Engineer, Web Developer plus more but never seen anything crazy mathematical.. i guess deep learning is one of those field where its applied. thanks for sharing
U serious?? Maths is almost used everywhere in the backend. Also nobody writes a deep learning code from scratch nowadays.
