In this video they were 19 (Dany, guitarist), 17 (Pau, drummer), and 14 (Ale, bassist). This was 2019. This song is part of their rock novel and second album Queen of the Murder Scene. You have to know the story to truly understand the song.
If you think they look young there, try their 2014 cover of Enter Sandman when Dany (guitar) was 14, Pau (drums) was 12, and Ale (bass) was a mind boggling 9 years old. Her 3/4 size bass was still almost as big as she was. They crushed the cover, by the way. ua-cam.com/video/1boUYB9LFJY/v-deo.html
@@alexatakesalookYou should make it a double play. Do their original 2014 cover then follow it up with either the OMV from the Metallica Black List Album by The Warning (with Alessia Cara), or their live performance of ES from their 2022 concert at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX. Most TWA will insist on the 2022 live but you shouldn't dismiss the OMV. Either way, they are both interesting to watch.
@@alexatakesalook Their total remake of *Enter Sandman* made during the pandemic is on Metallica's *Black List* album as Track 1. It features Canadian, Alessia Cara, sharing vocals with The Warning. One great version besides Teatro Met. version mentioned above, is the official music video filmed in an old textile mill. It is eerie, creepy, and features Pau doing the prayer in a Wednesday Addams costume (Addams Family 1964 TV show reference). Teatro Met is harder, rockier, but the B&W OMV is totally cool.
It's even more sinister than that. This is part of their concept album _Queen of the Murder Scene,_ in which a young woman goes from unrequited love to obsession, stalking, murder, and then a war with her evil side for her soul. Here, Dany (guitar) sings the evil side and Pau (drummer) is the "good" side, relatively speaking.
One of my favorite The Warning songs and performances. Dany's powerful vocals, Ale's falsetto and those harmonies! Wow! They have done a few "acoustic/stripped down" sets over the years and they are always great. Great reaction Alexa! Thanks!
Keep in mind, they broke onto the scene when they were 9, 12, and 14 years old. If you want your mind blown watch their original Enter Sandman video from 2014.
Yes, this is the same band. This is from their SECOND album, *Queen of the Murder Scene,* a rock novel concept album that tells the story of a young girl obsessed with a fantasy love she can't have. It is a work of genius! The band was formed when they were 8, 11, and 13. QOTMS was released in 2018 when they were 13, 16, and 18! See the whole concert in the November, 2018, album debut at Lunario, which also includes a few songs from their first album, released in 2017. If you were to go watch some of their very early videos when they were just starting out, you would know that these Mexican sisters were not yet little bilingual Catholic school girls when they first got into music at summer camps. Mom's a dentist. Dad's an engineer. He used to run a recording studio. They grew up listening to their parents' rock favorites and watching concerts on TV. The kids all learned classical piano first, then discovered Rock Band, the video game. Suddenly, they were choosing instruments. Dany started guitar lessons at eight. Pau started drum lessons at six. Ale started bass at seven, a few years later, as she's the youngest. They were a great cover band as LITTLE KIDS. But they rarely do covers anymore. They are as good as, or better than the bands they covered! And in most cases, they are more fun to watch. Their first two albums were crowd funded and independently produced! Before watching any more of their music, I'd suggest you watch their two TEDx Talks on the University of Nevada channel, from way back in 2016 and 2017. Perhaps also watch The Warning: The Mexican Rock Stars Who Happen To Be Sisters [TIDAL Rising Documentary] on the TIDAL channel. Maybe watch Mayday in the Making, parts 1-6. As much as you like it now, if you know who they are, and where they come from, their music will make a lot more sense. These ladies are now 19, 22, and 24, and just sold out their Spring tour, 19 dates in Europe and the UK. They're also back from Japan and a stint in L.A. for the launch of their new album, now in Europe and headed on to Canada, the USA, and other places this year. They already sold out TWO dates in a 10,000 seat arena in Mexico City for next February. Their fourth album arrived June 28, and they performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live the night before. They were on MTV Push during July. They played Pol'and'Rock and Wacken Open Air festivals in Europe before tens of thousands of fans.Their superpowers are LIVE performance, music COMPOSITIONAL skills, LYRICAL depth, STAGE presence and charisma, and personal integrity. Welcome to a deep, deep, 11-year-old rabbit hole.
It's Ale the bassist who handles the lows and the highs (falsetto). She doesn't really like to sing, but she does a good job regardless. Check out "Revenant" from their Teatro concert in 2022 if you want to see another acoustic song of theirs.
Hi Alexa, there are videos of The Warning 2013, as tiny little kids, with ribbons in their hair, performing in front of school kids. I keep telling my son, when I was at that age I was playing with dirt. The Warning were already on their way to becoming rock stars. Dany was already doing Lady Gaga! Check out the Lunario CDMX 2018 concert where they performed the entire album Queen of the Murder Scene in proper order. A rock opera album they composed when Ale was 11 or 12 years old.
Their ages in any given performance are easy to remember. Dany was born in January 30, 2000. So except for January, whatever the year of the recording is, is Dany’s age. (Eg: she would be 19 in 2019) Pau ( born Feb 5) is always 2 years younger ( except for a week) and Ale 5 years younger. Except for the mid Dec to end of Jan period when she gets within 4 years of Dany. This performance was posted Dec 8, 2019. Making DP&A 19, 17 and 14, (turning 15 in a week)
it's funny how time works... they say it's relative... but the easiest way to explain it is, the further back in time you go, the younger they will be...
Considering their age now, four years ago majes them quite young. I believe they were 19, 16, and 14 when they recorded this. They write virtualky all their own songs with a few exceptions from early in their career. The most recent exceotion is Enter Sandman, which they did for Metallica's Blacklist album celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Bkack album. Trust me, you want to watch the music video AND the official live performance from Teatro Metropolitan.
They formed The Warning at 13, 11 and 8 years old. This is already six years later. And before The Warning they already played classical piano and Dany played sax. You can find videos of that on UA-cam too. 😉
It would be killer for you to react to the whole concept album (QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE) Every reactor has their own interpretation of the story as Thay lisson and break down the album in full.
This is the Warning in "middle age". Everyone has their favorite "early" Warning covers and I suggest Muse's "Hysteria" from the Liceo de Monterrey performance and their cover of "the Pretender" by the Foo Fighters. You'll be shocked by tiny Ale.
If you think they look young in this vid, there are plenty of much younger vid's. might i recommend The Pretender cover they do. its just one of my favs. great reaction and thank you.
Two versions - "Out of the Basement," filmed outdoors in a vacant lot near Monterrey, MX, near sunset, with mountains in the background, and the 2016 TEDx Talk at University of Nevada (on the University of Nevada channel). It's the second song played during the TEDx performance.
TW did 4 songs acoustically from 'Queen Of The Murder Scene' concept album: Sinister Smiles - Red hands (Never Fade) - Hunter & The End (stars always seem to fade). All are amazing.
Acoustic performances from The Warning are fairly rare. They did a five-song set for Sofar Sounds before their show in London last month. Those songs are from their fourth full-length album, Keep Me Fed, which released 6/28/2024. You can catch that set here: ua-cam.com/video/I6xu6bXFDq0/v-deo.html
The Warning are probably still interested in K-Pop. Pau said she was listening to a lot of K-Pop when they were composing *Queen of the Murder Scene!* These ladies are known for their extremely broad musical influences. Classical, opera, swing, jazz, rock, hard rock, demented cheerleader punk, country, folk, gospel, broadway show tunes, K-Pop, J-Rock, and a lot more are in their record collections. There is a recent video they made of a visit to a record store, where they each found something new that was quite a surprise.
Aloha @Alexa, it's fairly easy to know how old the ladies are at any point in time...as long as you know what year it was when the recording was made, that will be Dany's age. Then it's just a matter of doing the math...Pau is 2 years younger than Dany, and Ale is 5 years younger than Dany.
Oh, they look young cuz they are so young still now. But you'll should be react to TEDx Talk 2017, three songs Ale 12, Pau 15 and Dany 17, and probably looks like kids but played like a older rock band. Greetings from Argentina.
They are 24, 22, and 19 now. This video is from almost 5 years ago. Do the math. Also, they formed the band almost 11 years ago. You can literally watch these sisters grow up on their youtube channel.
This version is outstanding because they show their vocal abilities separately and in harmony. But if you listen to the full version at the album presentation at the Lunario, you will realize that the lyrics, voice and music sound much more powerful together. I invite you to react to the original version of this song as well, and in general to the entire album "Queen of the Murder Scene" that they presented that night. 👍
Whenever someone puts “who are they?” In their thumbnail I can’t help but ask, are we really asking that when you probably have a number of ways to find out in seconds, heck if you don’t want to type you can just ask your phone.

This is my absolute favorite version of "Sinister Smiles".
In this video they were 19 (Dany, guitarist), 17 (Pau, drummer), and 14 (Ale, bassist). This was 2019. This song is part of their rock novel and second album Queen of the Murder Scene. You have to know the story to truly understand the song.
