Hi team! 💜 Since finishing this video I've already thought of some more ideas 😅 Drop any that you have in the comments though so we can all get inspired!
1. Use washi tape to "redact" information in your planner (good for spoilers and things you don't want others to see if "browsing" your journal
2. Use washi tape to "fix" or cover up mistakes
3. Mark sections of time on your calendar/monthly log (e.g. school holiday periods)
@@JashiiCorrin i have definitely marked holidays! In both personal bullet journal & more minimal work planner
@@JashiiCorrin Jess, when you make your weekly spread for this month. which theme?(potion or mean girls)
My favorite way is to put a wider decorative tape across the bottom because I hate writing in the bottom 3-5 rows of my page
Great idea - I'm with you. the last few rows make me write too 'sloppy'.
Sharpie markers always dry well on washi tape! Discovered that after much frustration lol.
another great video, thank you! i only ever use washi tape to mark the edge of my cover page for each new month but that doesn't stop me from collecting all the pretty rolls i see!
I use quite a lot of the techniques you mentioned in the video in my own journal BUT I gotta try out the flag one because it is SOO DANG CUTE!! 🥰🥰
I do love lil washi flags! Super cute 😄💜
Thanks for this vid, it’s good reference, I hadn’t thought of the tab idea before but the tip in one is one I’ve used a lot!
Another I’ve tried lately is to make a large background pattern for a header banner, it works well with the zigzag or grid washi
Thank you for this tutorial, a BIG thumbs up. I do use washi tape, based on one of your tutorials, adding washi tape to a bend in a page, because, i was new to bullet journaling as well as i was not able, at that time, to actually cut off so much of the page for a dutch door. Ive also used washi tape on a page to display my collection of washi tape on a picture frame, page edging and separation borders. Your tutorials are fun, functional and keeps me inspired, thank you.
I don't like drawing the yearly calendar every new journal so I do it once and washi it in the front cover and move from journal to journal.
Excellent idea! 😄💜
@@JashiiCorrin you can print mini calendars
Yes, I use washi tape in my journals in these ways: 1) thin borders of page title, 2) thick tape as tabs, 3) adhering pictures and notes, 4) tip-ins, 5) flags on paper clips, 6) 'redact' lines, sections or pages in my diary and dream journal, 7) page dividers. I also use my least fave washi tape around the house just like regular adhesive tape - only it's also removable. I have a good washi stash - but I'm a firm believer that you can never have too much washi! tfs
mainly do the two pieces offset-overlapping thing because it's super quick and doesn't take too much thought. Mainly if I'm shoving some down its to fill a gap or decorate an otherwise blank page when I can't be bothered to do anything super creative.
when I use washi to make tabs, I put a tiny piece of paper or card underneath the washi (like between the two sides once you fold it over) which makes it a bit sturdier. Otherwise washi-only tabs tend to fold and become useless fairly quickly.
I use it to line the edge of a page or mark a column between days, etc. And as decorative elements. Slowly getting better at collage designs 😅
I use washi tape to bookmark pages. I like folding it over the edge on either the top / bottom or side. Much easier than keeping my book ribbon in that spot. I usually need the ribbon somewhere else so washi helps keep track of things better for the long term.
why didn't i think of that. I hate when my bookmarks slide out of the book!
I haven’t used it yet as I want to see how it can be used. This was very helpful. Thank you!😊
Glad it was helpful! 😄💜
I love those ideas, I have a lot of washi but have not been using it much. Thanks for the inspiration, I’m going to try a few!
Most welcome! Hope the ideas were helpful!
I used to use a lot of washi to fill in empty space. Since starting a bullet journal I have been using less and even decluttered down to about 4 rolls so that I can actually use it up.
I use it to attach an emergency contact/medical info pages so I can just migrate it over to my next bujo. The main thing I used it for is using a piece that is a part of my spread or that matches my color scheme to mark the different months. I don't make them go out further, just folded over. I have one that goes down the entire page for my future log.
Wow some great ideas thanks!
I use washi for making page tabs, edging each month with a different themed washi and just to add some colour to a page 💜x
I have a journal that I edged every page with washi; found it funny the difference in width between the opening side and the spine side 😂
Do comments inspire youre ideas for videos or do they come naturally? Its always fascinted me how you come up with so many diverse and unique video ideas
A bit of both! I always appreciate when people leave suggestions for videos 😄
Thanks Jashi, very useful
Most welcome! 😄💜
Love this. Thank you!!
I have never thought of some of these ideas! I share a lot of my planner set ups on my blog (link in bio) and I’m definitely going to have to try some of these!
Beautiful ideas
Love watching your videos. I love all of your ideas 💡
Thanks Steph! 💜😄
Excellent video, Jess! I also have a lot -a lot- of washis🤣🤣🤣. But try to use them all
Have a great Sunday (almost Monday for you??) 😄
Yep Monday for me! This video was a day later than usual cause I didn’t get it finished in time, haha
love it
Great ideas, thank you! Where can I find the pen type washi cutter you are using?
That’s an exacto blade, available in many art supply or crafting stores.
Oop! My bad, was supposed to include that in the description box! But yeah, it’s just a small craft knife 😄💜
How would you use tape as register?
I don’t think I quite understand the question sorry 😅 can you elaborate?
@@JashiiCorrin srry, i´m to german sometimes. I meant if you could make a video of creative ways, how to use a washi tape as Index stickers? Germans call Index "Register". It might sound as simple as it sounds, like just stick it, but that wouldn´t be creative. I guess I mean examples like: "Using a one-color Washi to underline a Topic on any given page and prolong it to an index-sticker..." I find Index stickers are mostly the same design, don't carry additional functions and are simply boring. I consider you to be a professional in the bullet journal world and maybe you have a more sophisticated way to tackle that problem? My Setup is: Midori MD A5 with ROtring 600 as a pain pen.
I only use washi to make tabs to mark the start of a new month. Don't know why I don't use it more!
That sounds like more consistency than I have with my washi tape use! 😛💜
I love washi tape and buy a lot of it, but I'm like you, I don't use that much in my journal 😅
I like to think of washi collecting as a separate hobby, haha
❤️
😄💜
Very helpful!! Thank you!! ~Chrisanne Nahum
Glad you found it helpful! 😄💜
So far I use my Washi tape to “erase” my written mistakes.
Nice 💪 it's a great way to cover things up!
honestly i dont use washii tape bc i dont really have any' and even if i did i dont think i would use it, i prefer to color things rather than to stick things in to my bujo
Well I appreciate that you still watched this video even though you aren’t a washi user 😄 if I’ma use up my stash, I really need to use more 😝💜
I love collecting washi tape. It goes hand in hand with my stationary addiction. However in all honesty I don’t use it in any of my setups. I just don’t know how to position it correctly and end up taking if off after spending ages agonising over placement and endlessly re positioning it. Sigh
I very much find that washi placement is a “trust the process” game. I find it won’t look good on a spread until I’m fully finished, haha 😂
Oh no! Stop agonizing! try this: on scrap paper, tear washi [long strips and short strips] and stick to paper - here, there, anywhere. Now cut washi (with scissors or card edge) and stick here, there, anywhere. Repeat including overlapping tape already stuck down. Keep repeating on different scraps of paper until you are relaxed about using your washi. Enjoy!
There is no such thing as too much washi tape. 😂
