Man that turned out really good! Looks like it’s been on the Jeep since the 70’s. Love the patina! You’ve gave me some good ideas for building mine. Subscribed!
I must admit, I thought when you were painting it all bright white, why oh why would you put lipstick on a pig. Then you redeemed yourself. lol Ps thank you for straightening the bulb, I was having a panic attack looking at it crooked. Awesome work!
Hey very good job. What motor did you end up putting on the winch? I’ve got one needs a new motor I was hoping to put that reversable one you were talking about in pt 1 on mine
The ball is an aesthetic feature more than anything. All the old Jeep’s a saw while growing up had a ball hitch on the front bumper. I will admit that you can hitch a large trailer to your front bumper and park it with surgical precision!👍. But I did use a 2” ball... most common. I do plan to go wheeling with this Jeep, and bolt threads hanging low would get mangled anyway. Welding just made for a cleaner look.
Hard to tell from the video but I hope you're using at least 8 grade 8 bolts of 1/2" or larger in at least 2 planes and that they're properly torqued. That winch will only ever pull as hard as needed to move the Jeep or whatever it's attached to, whichever is lighter, but it is capable of 8,000 lbs, right?
Hey brother are you in Carrollton or Farmers branch? I think i remember seing a video where you mentioned it. Im from around the area and wanted to see if you could help me out on a project i have
They are the handiest thing ever if you have to park a trailer in a narrow spot! But honestly, I saw them on the front of old Jeep’s growing up... and I had to mount one on my bumper. Just nostalgic for me really.

Damn welding's so good, I'm actually pissed off at you.

Good welding, relaxing to watch. Question though, why did you weld the ball onto the mount? If for some reason you'd have to change ball size....

Im curious what the balls for? Is it just to hook a yank rope to?
