Fantastic video but I have a few warnings specifically for attendees of the Tuxedo Park NY faire. I have been an going to the Tuxedo Park Faire (always in costume) since 1991. I went a few times per year up until Covid. I understand that the fair has undergone yet another change in management since I attended last, and they have strict rules that are enforced. I attended with friends yesterday dressed as a druid, and had a tin whistle with me as I am a musician that also plays Ukulele and guitar. At one point a friend and me were waiting for his wife who was inside a shop. It was quiet and there were no musicians or music playing nearby, so I took out my tin whistle and played the theme from the Hobbit. I was quickly approached by 2 security staff members who told me as per management, I was not allowed to play any musical instruments as the faire employes their own musicians and if I continued I would be asked to leave. I asked when this new policy started and they claimed it always was this way. I know for a fact that was not the case as my friend has played stringed instruments at the faire for decades. He was as shocked as I was especially as there were vendors selling Ocarinas and bird whistles to attendees who were openly playing them around the faire grounds and not being told to stop. Also I was told by another attendee who quietly offered me a tricked that security was cracking down on those who gave out trinkets and she herself was warned not to do so by security. She said this year was the first time that she has been told by security not to hand out of trinkets and not to even say the word too loud.
Nice video. This is our home faire and have been going for 26 years. Sadly it’s changed so much over the years , we only visit once a year now instead of buying the season passes. Just a friendly tip.. this particular faire in Tuxedo does not allow trinket trading or give aways.. it’s stated on their FAQ page. Just a heads up to you ❤️❤️ love your outfit !

It used to be that you could bring things as a part of your outfit as long as it wasn’t handmade, something you’re selling, or something that you could find for sale at the faire. I just double checked the website for the Tuxedo Faire (Something I probably should’ve done before posting this video considering the footage is from the New York location 🤦🏼♀️) and it does say that you can’t gift anything. It’s definitely more strict at some because I don’t gift anything in public at the New York Faire but I see groups opening trading at other locations So sad 😭 because I love giving things to craft vendors, the fairies, and food vendors as a part of their tips 💔 I’ll make a note of this in my next video. Thank you for the heads up!
