    Great video! Are you still using this kit? Since this video did you have to add other components?

    how much taller do you think yours is compared to a sahara with the same lift since the rubicons are a little bit taller from the get go. I already put some rubicon 392 take off wheels and want to temporarily spacer lift it but i don't want it to look to chickeny.

    Looks good! I have the same lift i have been procrastinating on. I want 35’s to go with it but Im having a hard time buying 35’s when these 33’s are still almost brand new. You might have talked me into it.

      I already have 37's for mine and I was able to make some slight modifications to make them clear so I would say go 37

    Just bought an 18 JLU from Jim Marsh in Centennial last week! They were great people... Beautiful rig man, let me know if you want to sell your Rubicon wheels/tires! Thanks for the tips!

    Mighty close to garage roof.... It seems like you got rocky desert terrain. I notice the bfg at's. Is that ideal out there? Versus say baja radials, or swampers...or maybe jeep oem?

    • @Dicks4x4Garage
      @Dicks4x4Garage  6 років тому

      They came stock on this jeep, not ideal for my terrain but now that I have the lift I can run my 37's.

    The JL aftermarket world is a bit behind and the big names are trying but maybe not hard enough, the problem everyone is encountering with aftermarket shocks is a terrible bow in the springs usually driver front.
    It seems mopar has this issue as does ready lift and rubicon express. You showed all the springs except front driver does this lift have the same issue?
    ( I should state that it’s my belief just my opinion that since the plastic perches where the springs seat are different passenger to driver that this issue may wind up being a structural defect on the jl ..still researching)

    • @Dicks4x4Garage
      @Dicks4x4Garage  6 років тому

      I don't see any issues, and didn't see any plastic in the spring perches. If I see an issue I will get back to you.

    i'm looking to get this kit for my 2017 jku rubicon. was there anything u had to do due to the factory electronic sway bar disconnects?

    • @Dicks4x4Garage
      @Dicks4x4Garage  5 років тому +2

      I'm not sure about the JK's, but for the JLU I didn't have to modify anything.

    Did you need to disconnect the drivetrain during the install? I’m seeing different answers.

    • @Dicks4x4Garage
      @Dicks4x4Garage  5 років тому

      I had to disconnect the driveline from the front axle, that's all.

    What's the engine size, tranny, diff gear ratios, and is it a 2-spd transfer case? Just curious, thanks.

    • @Dicks4x4Garage
      @Dicks4x4Garage  6 років тому +1

      Hey man! It's a 3.6, 8 speed auto, 4.10 gears and a 2 speed transfer case with 4.1 low.

    Damn if you are rolling with those 90-95% of the time hitting trails on those 33s then my idea to get 35s as a tire on all time would be perfect balance for trail and highway. 37s seem to get too big for highway driving not to mention regearing and all that jazz. Nice build,

    Way of life or something like that is his name is running a two and a half inch lift on a JL Rubicon and he squeezed 37-inch tires under it. He had a little rubbing it full Flex but nothing too bad. What size tire do you plan to run what size tire do you think you can fit? The new 8-speed automatic transmission is supposed to do great when changing tire size but not gear ratio let me know what you find out cuz I'm going to be buying one of these. Thank you very much

      I have already mounted my crawler tires, they are Pro Comp Xterrain 37-13.50 on a 17x9" wheel with 4.5 back spacing. I did the mods that wayalife did as well as drill a small hole in the back of the rear fender liner so it would hold it tighter to the pinch seam. I took them out to my flex test spot and had no rubbing. Next time I hit the trail I will stuff them and see how they do, I'm thinking they will be fine. Good luck with the JL I'm loving mine, except driving in the wind lol

      Dick's 4x4 Garage flipping awesome. The stock axles or (i think 3rd gen dana) are beefer and id like to know how these hold up under 37s but this is also my game plan. Any idea on fuel economy? Great ride. Nice videos

    Did you have any problems reconnecting your front track bar? I can’t get mine back in... I’m in 89002

    • @Dicks4x4Garage
      @Dicks4x4Garage  6 років тому

      How's it going! I'm not sure I had to remove my front track bar(Just the rear). Mine lined up well, but maybe with the wheels on the ground, have someone push on the body to get it aligned. Also with the wheels on the ground, maybe turn the steering wheel one way or the other to shift the axle.

    • @Gold_Falcon_6
      @Gold_Falcon_6 6 років тому

      Cool, thanks. It’s currently at a body shop in BC because my wife got hit 8/5 and some of the factory parts are available... like the rear track bar and rear axle.

      So I did the RC lift and an adjustable rear track bar and had the axle rebuilt by Adams.

    So how hard is this lift and how high it sits now , cuz i have the brand new 2019 JL RUBICON too but I dont knw if the spacer is good enough , so my question is how resistant and how high it is now , thanx in advance buddy

    • @Dicks4x4Garage
      @Dicks4x4Garage  4 роки тому

      It pushes the stock suspension down so it rode the same. You can check out the rock crawling videos on my channel of this jeep with 37's and the spacer lift. I could easily run 8 rated trails. Congrats on your new JL!

    I miss the old format. We aren't seeing ony more build, fab, square body or ls. I'm really close to unsubscribing. It's just not worth watching anymore.

    I usually dont comment on you tube videos, let alone in a negative way. I originally subscribed to your channel for all of the LS and squarebody stuff. I have really enjoyed all of the home brew budget builds and fab. I think I’m going to be walking away though if this is going to turn into a bolt on part, mall crawler jeep channel. Just saying, remember who your base of subscribers have been. Thanks

      @jdunereaper1 6 років тому

      Jay Suttle Apparently you cared enough about my “comments and likes” to comment yourself. I was merely stating my opinion on where the direction of a favorite youtube channel of mine was heading. Judging by a lot of other peoples comments, i wasnt alone in this view. I guess some of us can do this with their opinions, while others choose to use poor grammar, vulgarity, and name calling to get their point across. I sincerely hope for the sake of his channel, you arent the audience he was looking for.

    • @jdunereaper1
      @jdunereaper1 6 років тому

      Jay Suttle, you sure take my comments mighty personal. Personal enough to think that you could be the owner of this channel who is using an alias to respond back to comments that he doesnt like. How else would you know which videos i have liked or disliked. Either way, its good to see your keeping those responses CLASSY as ever!

      At the time I wanted to wear out the stock suspension before I went replacing stuff. If you haven’t seen my other Jeep wheeling videos, I can run 8 rated trails, with 37s, and sliders. I’m not wanting to push it any further, otherwise it would get beat up. So far I’ve installed front adjustable lowers and trac bar. After I do the same in the rear, I’ll piece together my own lift. Example of how it wheels with this lift -
