- A Tory adviser had to step in and halt an awkward interview with party chairman Richard Holden after he dodged questions about his controversial seat selection.
In a cringe-worthy TV moment, Mr Holden repeatedly avoided explaining how he secured a prime Conservative constituency.
Previously the MP for North West Durham, where he declared his loyalty to the North East, Mr. Holden has now sparked outrage within the party by being "parachuted" into the Basildon and Billericay seat in Essex.
He will now contest the general election on July 4th as the Tory candidate in a constituency roughly 300 miles from his former seat.
