Horrid Little Mech Goes Fast | The Locust
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 чер 2024
- (SUBTITLES AVAILABLE!) The Locust is one of my all time favorite mech to pilot. The combination of small size and ridiculous speed makes it one of the most abusable mech on the field. Today we go over a special build and maneuvers needed to pilot light mechs.

This is my first video back and I sound a little stiff in the narration. I'll loosen up in the next ones ~
The MechWarrior "Swedish Chef" is back. Yahhhh
So glad to see you back.
Welcome back you beautiful bastard 🥰
Just glad you are back man! Love the delivery and explanations.
Welcome back! Most importantly, I hope it is a sign you are in a better spot and taking a step forward.
Also, with this high quality vid, I suppose you got access to secret Google Drive? - BrioS
14:08 "I'm slowly realizing I'm clearly a bad person for doing this... *So I decide to be even worse* "
That scummy tactics is viable only because there is no melee in MWO. Of course, even if there is melee, it'll work against mechs that don't have swinging arms like the Fafnir or Stalker
I can only imagine the bewilderment and sheer salt of the enemy team realising half of them died to a Locust piloted by 'bumbum69'
"Say goodbye to your knees shit lord" - every Locust pilot
You lost a Spirit Bear against *WHAT!?!?!* - An Irate Ghostbear clanners
omg the strategy of shooting your teammates to get their attention when you've brought an enemy to them is genius, i've been in so many situations where i've ran back to my team only for them to not realize at all the fight going on right next to them
Man, even B33f is starting to take the Lore route lately. I love it.
Lore is why BattleTech is so great, and why pilots are drawn to different mechs.
That Annihilator kill was the epitome of light mech shenanigans.
No that is if he done the swarm technique with a full lance of lights that are properly coordinated
Dude, the editing in this is incredible: the build, the tactics, the lore, the art, the hilarious clips sprinkled in. The best MechWarrior channel is back online, LET'S FUCKING GO
Damn, he wasn't kidding when he said the MOST aggressive locust loadout. This requires peak awareness, reaction and iron balls.
walking that anny off the wall was great lol
What an incredible video!
It's safe to say that we can all appreciate the large amount of effort + time you have put into this video!
The B33F still wears his crown, as the best MWO content creator! 👑
I hope this inspires more mwo creators to try new video formats and content.
I'm still extremely grateful for your mod work. One of the main reason I came back. ❤
I wonder if those people who trash talk you and call you an imitator actually follow you and then choose to shut up when they see themselves in your video. 😂
Shame the nonbelievers! 😜
I managed to survive long enough to see another classic TheB33F mech video! This is all I need to continue on
HE RETURNED WHEN WE NEEDED HIM MOST
Long ago, the four weight classes lived in harmony.
But everything changed when the clans attacked...
...I just watched the B33f re-enact the grudge match between David and Goliath in the format of Locust vs. Annihilator. Truly this is a blessed day. Thank you B33f. That was magical to witness.
the cause of death was amazing, and I love that Goliath had a flamer 😆
2024 is the year mwo content creators all came back. I love it
Nobody kills TheB33F but TheB33F
He truly is back!
The only MWO creator I still watch.
Not even playing the game anymore for years, will still watch every video he uploads.
Ah the sound of MechCommander's music after so long. A perfect choice.
Beef dissapears for years then casually drops a video with editing that'd make checkers blush, welcome back B33F
It's Wednesday and we have B33F content to enjoy. I tip my hat to you sir! Good to see you back :)
Another strategy for the locust is to run a 1v with a Large X-Pulse laser. The 1v's laser cooldown quirk makes it fire absurdly fast; meaning you can easily hit and run scrapping off armor and pulling attention for your team.
That's a great one
I refuse to play what MWO has become, but I'll gladly watch B33F content all day long.
Listen to this man. A Masterclass in using the old ways with new weapons.
As a MW2 player who hasn't played a mech game in a decade i am pleased to find that "surprise butt stuff" is still a great strat.😂
its about time... such a gopper.
This is literally the way Rogues fight in D&D - sneaky, fast, evasive, scoring critical strikes for huge damage with backstabs and then vanishing again. Amazing work B33F!
Man I've missed you. You were the reason I first tried this game back in 2014. You were also the reason I became an Atlas main. Spooky Atlas forever.
We have a saying in Poland that can be translated "to draw somebody subconsciously/with thoughts" as I did yesterday thinking what's up with the B33f and just today the algorithm shows me this masterpiece. Now this can be called the top quality MWO pedia ever created. Thanks and goodluck B33f!
Haha, awesome. I've never been sold on the locust as a real mech, but this was an enlightening watch.
This is what I wish existed when I started playing MWO. Great content B33f, I can't wait for the rest of the IS roster to be covered.
I love the long form. If we get 30mins on every mech I'm happy. Great mix of all the content sources.
19:32 "Keep absolutely still. Its vision is based on movement."
I am new to the game, downloaded it like two weeks ago.
Your video sure highlighted one of the funniest chassis to play.
After learning the controls and HUD, i purchased LCT-1V, that universally recognized as the worst of the bunch.
And I absolutely love it. Dealing 500-800 damage per game and even breaking a 1000 damage per match a few times.
Thank you B33F, your videos are gems indeed.
AHHH HES BACK! we missed you beef!
Enemy "Infantry" never stood a chance!
Incredible showcase! The leg lock is a new maneuver and I always thought the shutdown-juke was just a meme, exciting to see it used to such legitimately good effect here!
I need a B33F tac computer, also glad to see you back man ,its been so long
Heh, if B33F did recordings for a warhorn, that'd be amazing!
this format is legit great -- love how you explain the philosophy behind the build and playstyle
Bruh! There is something broken in you. Your my type of people!
Only person I know who has forced another mech to suicide by jumping off a cliff. This is truly a Moriarty level of deviousness!
It didn't just survive the succession wars. It thrived. Actually expanding production.
Thanks B33F.... So cool to have you back
B33f is back. This is good.
This is...amazing...I'm not saying it's your calling, but it is certainly something no one else could do. Legendary.
There is no understating the quality of this video. Highly recommended, especially for new players. Some absolute prime advice in here. Bravo
the legend has returned, and it is glorious
Very impressed by the production quality, wouldn't be surprised if PG's marketing dept. helped out.
Your accent makes it sound like you have a barely contained enthusiasm of Battletech as you talk about it. I love it
This is the most creative, informative, and fun mech warrior video I've ever seen. Well done b33f glad to have you back.
I come back to the game for the first time in years only to be surprised with my favorite MWO creator returning to making videos a handful of months later? This great! Glad to have you back B33f, have a comment and a like for the algorithm gods!
21:22 the way the blackjack slid down the hill after instakill
I knew you couldn't talk about the Locust without the classic Fragasaurus teamkill clips.
wow this is a great start to your return B33F, I've played on and off for years and I think I could be dangerous in a locust with some practice after watching this. Fun and informative 10/10.
BEEEEEF!!!! This editing is off the charts. I do hope that we get at least one meme build this time around. Something like the Direstar to make those pesky haters rage.
This video was amazing. I recently started a roleplay as a mercenary Lance leader with a 3V Locust as my signature mech for all of the reasons you coveted in this video. My Lance consists of a Blackjack, Jenner, and an Elemental.
I plan on incorporating all nine of these maneuvers into the training arc of teaching my first through roleplay how to be an effective and successful light mech warrior. Thank you for this super fun and well demonstrated content!
This will still be taught like 600 years from now, when the first units actually are deployed. Great work, thanks!
Great to have you back B33f! Commenting to help feed the algorithm for ya!
This is actually one of the best videos to learn how to play locusts or fast lights in general
The Annihilator kill! You violated that man!
Epic comeback video! Perfectly showcases the Locust and it's strengths, and was heckin fun to watch. :)
This is EXCELLENT new format. Keep it going sir.
well you set the bar pretty high on this one, cant wait to see if the next one stacks up
14:25 god you did him dirty, I wouldent wish something like that even to a capellan
fucking YES.
This is so much better than what I was hoping for. the edits are fucking unbelievable and it feels like a sardine can of memes. I love it. Bless you man. And I thought you were doing god's work back in the old days.
EDIT: STARCRAFT MUSIC I AM CREAMING
That wall drop on that ani was nasty lol.
This video is a masterclass in Locust panache! I learned so much from this video. Thank you so much, Beef!
the best light mec introduction i've ever seen, superb work. i am glad that you're back :D
"Lore" but also from the perspective of *MECHWARRIOR* instead of tabletop is amazing. More pls thx
Literally 23 minutes before I see a battle... but it could have been longer, this was amazingly well put together with all the lore and editing
Thank you BEEF for answering my "Why" in Waba's stream. The correct answer is "for the lawls". Thanks for the good laugh
Welcome back B33f! You've inspired me to break out my dusty old Locusts and start practicing with them again.
A love the little bastard that is the Locust. Remember kids, ALWAYS lie cheat AND steal your way to victory!
Hail to the King baby.
Welcome back Mechwarrior.
Omg that endless space 2 soundtrack near the end brought so many memories to me
Ahh, the Locust. A fine little mech that helps highlight my preference for lights. I remember one MWO match back in the good old days on the classic Polar Highlands map, when i somehow managed to score 8 kills and secured the victory. That was one of those matches that still lived rent-free in my mind. Gooood times indeed.
The B33F returns with a new recipe - Lore & Gameplay B33F stew. Omnomnom!
"commendation for low drop weight!"
Mech Commander Gold is still my favorite game of all time, every time I hear the OST, I smile.
It's awesome to see you making videos again, and the first one back is on my favourite light mech, gotta love being a little gremlin
Excellent to have you back. I love the tactics explanation and your thought process in game.
haven't played in over a year. now im inspired to play yet AGAIN
This was such a great watch, i really liked the lore part and detailed explanations
On a side note, man i missed Beef. Reminds me of bartending in my 30s and coming home late nights, watching the newest vid at 4am. What great memories.
I love the full package setting of this. So much love in the details, with the cards and all that stuff. Pure Quality. Just wow B33f, glad you're back.
Okay this is great. I loved your original content for the craziness and how much you embraced ‘hey this is cool and that’s what really matters’. But if this is the standard the new videos are being held to…wow. Funny, informative, helpful to newbies, and even helpful to a vet with almost 1000 hours in the cockpit but can’t pilot a light without jump jets to save his life.
PS: A moment of silence for all of the Locust pilots that we have killed via friendly fire whenever we have a great shot lined up…only to have a friendly come running across the crosshairs as we pull the trigger.
The Locust is like the Toyota Tacoma of the future.
I’ve never been so excited to a UA-camr to come back!!
Been playing this game for a decade and you still taught me stuff. Love your work B33F!
LET'S GOOOOOOOO!!!
5:55 "It's good man" it clearly wasn't. Love that
Great video, B33f! Glad you are back and I absolutely love the new format! KEEP THIS STUFF COMING! :D
Awesome. I go back to MWO every now and then to see how my Mist Lynxes are doing and it's great to see your amazing return! Great video!!
With one video, you create a New standart of mechwarrior content.
Great great job. ❤
Man i gotta say, the use of music? Well done, the airbomb touch with the ace combat track, and then the ending screen with the mech commander victory music? Big fan.
Love this new style! So good to have you back!
this is honestly the most educational lights tactics breakdown i've ever seen. the presentation and structure make it super easy to learn!
I really hope this new format works out for you, its very complete and interesting, reaches outside of jsut mwo and really, its a joy to see you back among us.
Ah, the locust. defiantly top 3 mechs of all time for me. in MWO i fly the Pirates Bane, and i like to sneak around the enemy advance and pop UAVs and drop an arty on them, if i do it right, i can score some simple hits on all of them and get away mostly in one piece or die trying. xD its fun either way and even in single player games, i at least own the PB, such a fun mech and always fun to see it pop up on my feed. welcome back, and thank you for the video!
5:36 he screamed the scream of every light mech pilot whenever they're busy existing on the battlefeild
The humble locust has won me several TT games. Locust pilots are insane, but damn do they put in the work
